SS15 does not lack diversity in terms of cuisine, but I've not seen one that's as full-fledged British as this. In British accent the founder, Adam, will ask if you'd like a cup of tea to go with your meal.Jokes aside, I enjoy my meal every time I visit there. Of course you go there for their fish and chips. But other dishes are worth checking out too. I'd like to highlight their amazing mashed potato - homemade texture, yet it's very soft. It's served along side with chicken&mushroom pie. The pastry is baked to perfect crunchiness but not flaky, it is soft and fragrant. Gravy is thick, the taste of chicken and mushroom complement each other perfectly.I have a soft spot for their Apple Crumble. The crumbs have that subtle buttery aroma, cinnamon used at the right amount where it does not over power the taste of apple and summer berries, but enhances them. And the custard sauce! It's fragrant with just enough sweetness.Recently they added new dishes into their menu. I also enjoy their pan-fried dory where you can choose either mashed potato or garlic butter rice to go with it, and a side of veg. It's obvious which one I'd choose. The fish is pan-fried crunchy on the surface and juicy on the inside. Fish lover must try this.Last but not least, their fruit trifle. Whipped cream, custard, fruits and soaked sponge cake. Since they don't use alcohol in their dishes, I believe they stay that way with their trifle, too. Still, this dessert is very much a little piece of heaven for those looking for one. A cup of Earl Grey goes well with this sweet delight.Overall, it's a place I'd recommend to friends. continue reading
