Came here for breakfast after my morning walk with my family and the dim sums were not that fantastic and good. The skin for the har gao and the xiao long bao was very thick for my liking and the crystal shrip dumpling was just so so only. Also, their lo bak guo wasn't really that good as I had better lo bak guo from other dim sum places. In terms of price, it was a bit pricey for the dim sum that we had. Overall, I would recommend other dim sum places than this restaurant and it's definitely worth skipping.  continue reading

The variety of dimsum offered here in Jin Xuan is vast. They have many options of these delicate morsels of delight, being it steamed or fried. My personal favorite to have here is the Golden Sand Bun which is basically salted egg yolk custard fillings encased in their soft fluffy steamed buns. Theirs are usually always fantastic! It has a good balance of sweetness and saltiness, without either of the components being too overpowering.Their egg tarts are mediocre as I find that the crust was not buttery and crispy enough but the custard filling was just nice.Moving on, another dim sum worth ordering here is the Siew Mai which is basically a pork shrimp dumpling. Their version is especially plump and juicy with the sweetness, deriving from the shrimps. Another note-worthy dish is the Shrimp Crystal Dumplings, which are shrimps encased in translucent delicate skin which looks like crystal, as the name goes. continue reading

Time for some guilty pleasures! Moments with a group of my best buddies here when I’m so far away from home. We often meet up a few times for gatherings annually, as some of our kakis aren’t residing in KL or Malaysia.Dim Sum in the morning! So we headed down to DJ for some morning DimSum… who could miss sucha bright yellow corner of a building along the street?I especially liked the yam cakes, egg tarts and the broth. Chee Cheong Fun tasted alright too! And the yellow Dim Sum is yummy, I love it but can never seem to remember its Chinese name. What really surprised me was the price. There were 8 of us and we ate till our hearts' content but guess how much our bill was? Our bill was affirmatively RM123.40 only!Good food for a good price. Jin Xuan is the place to go! continue reading
