Nostalgic feeling once stepping into this place. Brings back so much memories!Every 80s-90s kid could understand the concept of this place. It seem just only yesterday we were all playing in the classroom, shouting when the teacher is coming. Being a teacher myself, does bring back certain memories that I could never forget. Little speech bubbles they create were all the words we used to say while we were little peek-squeaks. What's better is that the food there is amaze-balls. So head down to take a nostalgic feeling down the road.Read more on my blog: http://felicia-grace.blogspot.my/2015/10/ecole-p-damansara-uptown.html continue reading

this Damansara Utama cafe shoots straight to the top of the class with a back-to-school vibe that's colorfully charming & whimsically evocative. The owners of Ecole P have done their homework, flooding this space with detail-crammed chalkboards, tables & stools that might remind many Malaysians of their primary school years.Ecole P marks a collaboration by Steven Heng & Ilrene Tee, both alumni of Taylor's University's hospitality courses who've sought to create a cafe where the carefree innocence & imagination of childhood spring stirringly back to life. The shelves are well-stocked with writing utensils, revision booklets & even tiny trophies (highest achievement in mathematics?).A salad comes served with savory-sugary haw flakes, plus a Spongebob backpack & a case that opens to reveal cutlery instead of color pencils.Ecole P's soft-launch menu remains limited, but top marks must be handed to the fried rice with salted egg yolk crumble, green peas & deliciously juicy chicken chop. Prices are fair; the salad & rice constitute a set lunch that costs RM18.80 nett.Love the presentation for the beverages; this peanut butter smoothie, mixed with ice cream & tiramisu lady fingers for a textural grit, proves worth its many calories.Penang's Lighthouse Coffee forms the foundation for Ecole P's lattes. Our report card for Ecole P ('Ecole' is French for school; the 'P' stands for primary): A distinctive effort with thoughtfully prepared food. Keep up the very nice work. continue reading

Ecole P, a new addition to the impossible-to-find-parking-bro Damansara Uptown. Situated on the first floor of one of the shop lots there, Ecole P is an evocative cafe that sets to make you walk down memory lane.... Why? Read on...I heard about this cafe from one of my friend studying Culinary Arts in Taylor's University. Apparently Ecole P is opened by one of the lecturers there! We were quite keen on visiting this cafe and finally planned to have lunch together at Ecole P along with a few friends.Walk up the flight of stairs, and you'll be greeted by a what a kid would call, nightmare-Yes, this little cafe has its nostalgia theme of PRIMARY SCHOOL! We were then handed a brown exercise book to do our homework, of ordering our food. Yes, even the fonts are so kiddy-like! Ecole P serves breakfast, healthy snack, soups & main courses such as spaghetti & chicken chop. The choices are quite limited for now as Ecole P is still the new kid of the block (:Breaky Burger RM12.90 Poached Eggs topped with Hollandaise Sauce & Ham on a buttered & toasted burger bun, served with a side of saladPoached eggs test- CHECKED! The salad was really refreshing, with its tangy dressing. What made it special, is the hawthorn flakes thrown on it. The addition hawthorn flakes not only gives the salad a pleasantly sourish aftertaste, but also a sentimental value into it :")The burger was wonderful- the aromatic buttered bun, spilled egg yolk & Hollandaise sauce just came together so perfectly. Although you might have to reconsider ordering this for your lunch if you are someone with a huge appetite. continue reading
