75 year old kopitiam, still maintain the taste. I'd be a tour guide for my Japanese friend to visit Klang town. Can you see how happy her expression when she ate nasi lemak..She never tried Malaysia local food before and it just cross my mind to bring her visit this historical kopitiam to have lunch. She love the milk tea and I'm happy when she has repeatedly said 美味しい!(笑).I introduced her the toast and kuih-muih. She was impressed by the pisang goreng and currypuff. In the end, once when we out of the shop, she bought another currypuff and request to take a picture to add on her foodage in Malaysia. continue reading

Looking for traditional-flavored food? My friend took me to this Zhong Guo Jiu Dian, a shop near to Klang KTM station to have breakfast.Yeah, that was my childhood breakfast with parents every weekend – Toasted bread with butter and coconut jam. There were 3 types of bread: white bread, bun or whole meal bun; either toasted or steamed. This was the toasted whole meal bun with butter and coconut jam (MYR 1.50), the white bread and bun cost MYR 1.20 per serving. There was a Malay stall in front of the shop selling Nasi Lemak. Almost everyone would order a plate of rice and dine in with another toasted bread and a cup of hot coffee as their breakfast. Since there was no seat, I took away my Nasi Lemak with Sotong and Fried Egg (MYR 4.20). The rice was nothing special but the sambal did impress me much since it was not oily as others. The cuttlefish was well-cooked until tender and flavorful.Other than the food, all the staffs and customers – Chinese, Malay and Indian were friendly to each other – harmony scenery. continue reading
