I guess Malaysians are big fans of Thai food that every nook and corner we can almost find a Thai restaurant nowadays especially those with the theme of thai street food.Since we were taking our weekend stroll in KLCC the other day, we stumbled upon the newly refurbished Chakri Palace at the highest floor. The same level as Petronas Sains Centre. Truth to be told, we still prefer the old interior of the restaurant, a classier deep and dark wood interior compared to this brighter version which makes it less elegant. When we stepped in, there were pictures of Chef Wan everywhere. Not too sure if they offer dishes created by him or collaboration in between them.Anyway, we had their tom yam seafood soup, fish cakes, chilli and lime steamed squid (which is specially made for us as it is not in the menu). Kudos to the flexibility of the team. The tom yam was good, with the right amount of spiciness and sourness but portion can be quite small if it was meant to be shared with friends. Fish cakes was as usual fragrant with lemon grass. We still enjoy our meal despite the less classy interior of the restaurant. The good food makes up for it. continue reading

The Mieng Kam is essentially a traditional Thai handroll served with seven types of ingredients. We have the peanut, baked shredded Coconut, Chili Padi, Diced Onions, Diced Lime, Diced Ginger, Sun Dried Shrimp and "Kaduk" Leaves served with the yummy shrimp paste sauce. Rolled into these cute bite-sized servings, I personally had more than my fair share of this dish. Some Turkey Thai Salad ( Larb Gai Nguang) ensued, now this was a specially prepared dish for Christmas, as it uses Turkey meat instead of the usual chicken meat. The meat is minced, and prepared with a myriad of spices, with a dash of lime, it does tantalize our taste buds with spiciness and a dash of sourness. continue reading

Why not having a sweet delights after a heavy meal? Khow Neow Ma Moung is another chef’s recommendation where the fresh mango and the sticky rice is being topped with the salted coconut milk. I am falling in love with the desserts where they have 2 flavored of sticky rice which is the pandan flavor and the original. The desserts is simply good and lovely too to be shared together after a meal.Price: RM 14.00 continue reading
