Snoopy in town! Cry Jul 02, 2012
Categories : Western variety | Café | Pizza/Pasta

The first Charlie Brown in Malaysia is now in Penang, Strait Quay. I didn't manage to go for their 1st day opening at 9th April 2011. But it seem to disappoint lots of people on their soft launch, no air-con, everything is mess up? Alright, I went with my bunch of makan kaki this time. I am a fan of Charlie Brown, can't wait to introduce all these to you all. Anyway, order are make upon the counter, just like a fast-food restaurant concept and you will be given a number for your order.

I have ordered their special beverage that day-Chocolate Soya which costs me RM11.00. It taste soya more than chocolate, quite special. My friends ordered a Chocolate drink-RM9.50 and a Coffee Mocha-RM11.00. All of us got the same picture of Lucy, I guess they saw all of us are girls (except KZ) so they specially draw Lucy for us.

Spaghetti Chicken Bolognese
Taste not really nice. The spaghetti is very dry (do the chef know he have to put some oils while boiling the spaghetti?) The gravy taste very weird and very sour. It is like mixing tomato paste from the can directly with some chicken meat.

Expensive Bread for dinner! Cry May 28, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Western variety | Burgers / Sandwiches | Bakery / Cake / Kuih

We arrived quite late at Berlin that day and while waiting for our meal. i decided to try out the breads at bakery near Berlin's shop.I picked up two of it which are the one left there.

Sausage Bread- RM4.50
The bread a bit hard but the sausages taste very nice. I guess it would taste better if I could microwave it.

Ham & Herb Bread-RM9.00
The price was quite high with this small bread. I thought maybe the is some surprise from the bread with that kind of price. There should be something special for them to charge that high. But unfortunately, nothing special about the bread. The ham was little inside the bread. I could smell a bit of herbs from the bread that's all. We kind of disappointed with it. This is overpriced!

Spending per head: Approximately RM10(宵夜)

Shogun Cry Jan 12, 2012
Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Buffet

We went to Shogun at Sunway Pyramid. We have make reservation week ago to ensure we have a seat there. The promotion is still on till this end of October. After discount for lunch is RM 32.40 nett per person. It is cheaper than the normal price which is RM49.90 ++. The place haven open yet when we reached there but a lot of people is queuing outside. Very fast the waiter lead us to our table. We saw people rushing to get the food when we pass by the food before we reached our table.

The waiter bring green tea to us. So we started to pick some food and try. Luckily we didn't took much..One word to describe the food there- GROSS. The food there are so not up to standard. It is better to eat sushi king. I will describe how gross it is one by one according to the photos I took. Guys, please don't waste money to eat SHOGUN only if you want to try how bad the food is then go ahead. Actually, I personally came to try how bad is the food after reading through so many food blog. I do not want to believe it but I have to admit the food taste bad.

Sushi is my favourite but these one spoils my appetite. Unagi is smelly, the rice is not cooked and hard to chew..end up we throw always all the rice..The oysters damn not fresh, one bite make us want to vomit it out. Steam egg...best part I think...Mushroom soup more like thick mushroom porridge..Sharkfin soup.. damn..so much starch and tasteless..where is the sharkfin Salmon fish and foot long sausage...damn salty..seem like the chief have added the salt twice.

Thai food... salty..sad

fried dumpling, popia, squid...all the food are cold..just taking it out from the fridge

dim sum..taste like the instant dim sum mom bought from the supermarket.

poccupine pau..timing for cooking not enough

Japanese's bean... didn't even stim it..just from the fridge..so hard to chew..

dessert-cakes still consider not bad.

pudding taste normal...

fruit as usual lo...

We had juices and ice-cream too. We have tasteless fresh watermelon juice and sour fresh orange juice. The ice- creams are from Nestle so no need to comment on that cause it is the normal ice-cream we can get from supermarkets. That is it from my opinion on SHOGUN. Rating: 2/10.sad

Yummy Taiwan | Fahrenheit 88 Cry Jan 09, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Taiwanese | Restaurant | Noodles | Juices / Bubble Tea / Tea / Yogurt | Fine Dining

It is located at the corner with long walking alley before you can reach the place, but luckily they understand the situation and placed the menu and flyers before the walk in alley so that at least people notice the place. I was attracted to the design and decoration of the place more than their promotion.

The variety of the food provided wasn't that much compare to most of the Taiwan Restaurant.

Bubble Milk Tea-RM4.90
The look of the milk tea is a bit brownish and it taste like cocoa with milk more than milk tea. The pearl wasn't that springy(a bit soft..=( ) compare to other bubble milk tea stall.

Osyster Mee Sua Set Meal-RM 9.50
Mee Sua was not bad but I don't see any osyster inside, maybe it was too small. Instead I ate a few pieces of pig intestines if not mistaken because it has very strong smell of pork. I think the intestines really spoilt the soup because of the smell. I personally quite sensitive on the food smell. Besides, the set also came with two small side dishes-beancurb skin and boiled taro with tuna. The side dishes weren't that nice at all. The beancurb skin (I'm not really sure about that) taste kind of weird. The tuna instead contain very strong fishy smell however the boiled taros were very nice and springy when you eat it. I guess they need more improvement in the side dishes.

Hot Crispy Chicken Rice Set -RM11.50
I like this dish. The Crispy Chicken was very big piece with chilli powder on top. It wasn't spicy like it look to be. The timing of deep frying the chicken was just nice which make it taste quite nice and crispy on the outside.

Satay in Shopping Mall! OK Jul 28, 2012
Categories : Malay | Restaurant | Noodles | Nasi Lemak

Kampung Fried Rice - RM9.90
I ordered the kampung fried rice as I was in the mood for it that day. It looks and smells great actually, but one taste of it and I was shocked at how salty the whole dish is. They put alot of soya sauce to the point I can really call this soya sauce fried rice. I would have preferred to cook my own fried rice and eat at home... If you really like salty food, maybe it suites you, I don't know. All I know that this dish has exceeded my tolerance for saltiness in the food.

Chicken Satay Set - RM12.90 (10 sticks)
Nevertheless, their chicken satay really did save the day. It was very very nice indeed, I would say better than Kajang satay. But this was expensive and we couldn't just fill our tummies with satay alone. So it was best eaten as a side dish to complement the main dishes. Too bad I think, if they had focused on improving their main dishes, they could have attracted much more customers to come for their satay. Let's hope that they would do that in the future.
