Iced Soya Bean. From the picture posted, it may seem to be served in a reasonably reasonable portion. In fact, at RM3.00 per cup of Iced Soya Bean, I thought it wasn't quite worth it. Taste wise, my boyfriend, Don, commented that it was still considered okay.

My Toast with Kaya and Butter at RM2.80. The only reason I visit Su Kitchen is when I need to grab something from Kepong Village Mall, and when I need a place for tea break. Thus, this will be the only thing I order, with or without half boiled egg depending on the visiting time. It's definitely not the best toast with kaya and butter in town, but the location is more convenient compared to the others.

His French Toast. It's quite good without the butter, honestly, although it was considerably ordinary. A layer of peanut butter was spread in the middle of the toast, and it was fried with egg and covered with honey before it was served. Priced at RM3.80, which is still within the standard, I thought it was something good for tea break.

The entire restaurant was almost empty during our visit. In fact, it has always been that empty. Still, they will always ensure good services to satisfy each and every customer's needs. This is probably another main reason why I am willing to visit this restaurant repeatedly.

Premium Vietnamese Drip Coffee. We wanted to order some other types of coffee because they seemed to be more interesting. Unfortunately, they were no longer served during our visit. My comment about this? Ugh. Oh my. It was so extremely bitter no matter how much of condensed milk was added. I had to take a sip, and ate a little bit of condensed milk to balance the taste.

Vietnamese Summer Rolls / Fresh Rice Paper Rolls. I never like mint leaves, but this appetizer came together with mint leaves. Still, it wasn’t too strong and it was acceptable because the taste was somehow covered by the sauce (made of peanut, I guess). A good appetizer I would say!

BBQ Lemongrass Chicken Chop with Rice. Don had this. It was considerably good, or at least much better than what I had. The chicken chop was not perfectly done, but still okay, and the others were pretty normal.

Grilled Lemongrass Chicken with Dry Noodles. I am not quite sure about the name of my bowl of noodles. It was a Vietnamese salad that came together with noodles, vegetables, and two sticks of chicken satay. Two small sticks of chicken satay. And it was priced at RM16.90. Hm.

Although it was pricey, the environment and services were good. The waiters wouldn’t stop smiling.

Brunch at Mekong House Restaurant OK Jul 10, 2013

Iced Vietnamese Drip Coffee. This is probably the best Vietnamese Drip Coffee I have ever tried in Malaysia. Wait for the coffee to drip into the small glass, stir it well together with the condensed milk, and pour it skillfully (or it will be all over the table) into the bigger glass filled with ice. Take a sip before the ice starts to melt and enjoy the fragrance!

If you don’t want it to be overly sweet, do not stir all of the condensed milk together, and when you pour it into the bigger glass, do not pour the remaining condensed milk into it as well.

Fresh Spring Roll. I specifically ordered one without mint leaves, because I never like the taste of a mint leave. It was quite okay, although slightly tasteless. However, if you are perfectly fine with mint leaves, perhaps it would be a good starter for a meal.

Lemongrass Chicken with Rice. This is one of my favorite in Mekong House, and I wasn’t already new to it. The fragrance of lemongrass was always strong, with a little bit of spiciness. Still, I was never satisfied with the fact that the sauce was always too little, and chicken breast was usually served together instead of chicken thigh or drumstick.

Additionally, their waiters and some of the waitresses are extremely friendly. Of so many visits, I have never seen annoyed faces no matter how troublesome some of their customers were, and they’re always prepared to help anyone whenever necessary.

The Street Cafe at Asian Avenue, Sunway Pyramid, is a place that serves the simplest and most common Korean street food like ramyeon, tteokbokki, bibimbap, and many more. I’ve been to the same place for several times. It wouldn’t be my favorite place to go, but whenever I run out of idea for a place for food, I would still choose this.

Don and I were both in the mood to eat bibimbap, so he ordered BBQ Chicken Bibimbap, while I ordered Tuna Bibimbap to be slightly adventurous. Both were quite similar, except that they contained different meats. One thing to be noted though, was that the sauce was extremely spicy. As soon as I finished my meal (well, I didn’t really finish it because the portion was too big, so Don handled the remaining rice), I was the one refilling his cup of Iced Korean Tea again and again to reduce the spiciness in his mouth, and I had to drink a little to help myself at the same time.

Perhaps you should ask to separate the sauce so that you could add it based on your own preference.

Jia, Food for the Seasons is one of the food courts in Genting Highlands, and there is quite some variety of foods available to be chosen.

It was almost 7.30pm when Don and I settled down and placed our order. Since we had our lunch only at around 3.00pm, we decided to share a pot of Claypot Chicken Rice, one of the most common Chinese foods found mainly in China, Malaysia, and Singapore. The portion was just right for a normal person’s preferred portion. It was also fine for two persons, which one must be a smaller eater while another one must be a big eater, just like me and Don.

Taste wise, it was still within the standard. The chicken that came together in the pot was surprisingly quite tender as well. Just in case you do not know, those in red were sausages, and they’re very common in all types of Claypot Chicken Rice served in this country. Indeed, it will be a good place for a proper meal, although everything available in the food court is always capable of burning a big hole in your pocket.

We will definitely consider to return to this place again to try out the other foods!
