It's been quite a while since my boyfriend wanted to give it a try at any outlet of Tong Pak Fu, because it's been so overly popular on the social networking sites. Hence, there we were, walking into the place like a boss, yet leaving like a frozen human.

D24 Durian Snow Ice. After much consideration between this and Tracka Durian Snow Ice, we decided to go for this, although the latter was said to be the best seller. When it was served, the smell was so strong to the extent that I once afraid that the people sitting beside us might not like it and feel disgusted. Anyway, I was slightly disappointed when I realized that the taste of durian was not as strong as expected, which was what I thought could be improved. I mean, how could it be so unsatisfying when it was served during durian season? The shaved ice was pretty normal as well.

OLDTOWN Coffee Lava. My youngest brother had a craving for this cup of RM4.90 dessert no matter how I strongly disagreed with his decision. After trying a spoonful of it, I thought it was a cup filled with merely two scoops of vanilla ice-cream swimming in some coffee without stronger taste, topped with some chocolate or coffee powder. He’s satisfied anyway, and he enjoyed it very much.

Iced Lime Juice, Iced OLDTOWN White Coffee, and Iced OLDTOWN White Coffee (Gao). My youngest brother loves anything sour, to the extent that he could literally eat a few pieces of lemon alone, which explains the reason he ordered the Iced Lime Juice. I couldn't stop shaking as soon as the drink touched my tongue. Uh! The sourness! And as usual, I ordered Iced OLDTOWN White Coffee, while my boyfriend, Don, wanted it to be stronger. Personally, however, I would prefer my cup of coffee to be slightly stronger than it was, but not as strong as Don's. That would be much closer to what I always have at another outlet (one of my favorite).

OLDTOWN Ipoh Chicken Hor Fun. This was my youngest brother's brunch of the day, and for a big eater like him, he commented that it was filling enough. I'm not sure if it's because of his OLDTOWN Coffee Lava that was doing the job (the dessert came first before his meal, by the way). It consisted of sliced chicken, two little prawns, and some green onions. I used to ask for extra prawns at an additional charge. However, the prawns served at any of the outlets are no longer similar. They use frozen prawns instead, which they would still remain transparent no matter how long they are cooked. The taste is disgusting as well. It would be much better to have it without the prawns.

Hainanese Chicken Chop Rice. I couldn't comment on this, because I have never tasted it before, honestly.

Chicken Chop with Crunchy Bun. This was mine! I was deciding between this and one of the lunch sets before placing my order. I have previously known that the piece of chicken chop is always ridiculously small and salty yet juicy, and the so-called crunchy bun is spread with plenty of butter, but I ordered it anyway. The crunchy bun was undeniably oily, so I merely ate half of it, whereas my youngest brother finished another half for me. The french fries were a little too much for my liking. The chicken chop was, as usual, salty, salty, and salty. I enjoyed it though, after not having it for a long period of time.

The services are not bad, although not as good as the outlet I have always visited. I strongly believe that it's due to the lack of staffs, since it's a public holiday.

Plain Jane. As you can see, there're two pieces of pancakes, served with syrup and a few pieces of green apple on the side. It was very ordinary. I would usually order this whenever I visit the restaurant for something light. Since I always prefer plain pancakes, I would only go for this, instead of their Jumbo Jane, which the pancakes are filled with blueberry (sauce, I think) and chocolate chips.

Iced Peach Tea and Orange Juice. There's nothing special about the drinks, except that they are slightly too expensive that they should be. The Iced Peach Tea was RM4.50, and the Orange Juice was RM5.00.

Anchovies Poached Egg Spaghetti with Chicken. It was a plate of pasta with crushed peppers, cooked together with olive oil and chili, and topped with a poached egg. I requested for one without anchovies because I never like anchovies. Definitely, just like many other dishes available in the cafe, you can choose between chicken and beef. Because of the generous amount of chili added by the chef, halfway through enjoying my meal, my sweat was close to dripping from my cheeks.

Chicken Spallopini Pasta. My boyfriend, Don, and I thought that it was slightly too salty for our liking. Don is always a person who prefers stronger flavor than I do, so you can pretty much imagine it based on your preferences. Despite so, Don enjoyed his meal that night, perhaps due to the special environment and the unusually huge portion.

Surprisingly, the services of the cafe of the night was much better compared to my previous visit (http://my.openrice.com/klangvalley/restaurant/commentdetail.htm?commentid=39759), although the food served was yet to be improved.

I couldn't recall the name of what I ordered. It was Kam Heong Chicken with Rice served in a small bamboo tub. If I'm not mistaken, mine was the most satisfying one among what my friends and I had ordered. It was definitely not the best one I have eaten so far. I can easily get one that is much better than this from a restaurant near my house at much lower price. Although it was served in a rather cute way, I disliked the fact that I had to dig deeply into the tub just to get a mouthful of rice, because it was topped with generous amount of chicken and onions. In my opinion, as a person who has lower level of acceptance for spiciness, it wasn't spicy at all.

As for the cup of hot tea, it was Hot Jasmine Tea, I think. I didn't ask for sugar, and they did not provide me with any sugar either, so it was almost tasteless. Still, I'm completely fine with it, for my love for hot drinks.
