Savory Noodles Smile Mar 31, 2014

Categories : Chinese | Kopitiam | Noodles

While on the way back, we decided to take away some local dishes from the town, so to have a taste to see if anything special and different from KL area.

One thing good about having a simple fare here is that it will always be good for value , either in terms of price and quantity wise.

The Curry Noodle is not that spicy, but fares better than metropolitan in the sense that the sides are generously given. Curry gravy is just nice and not too much of coconut milk, which goes decently good with fried wan tan, slices of char siew, long beans and etc.

Some combination you won’t easily find in KL. And I always love to pair my curry noodle with ‘hor fun’ instead of the usual yellow noodles lol

As for the dried Hakka Mee, surprisingly delish, not too oily and portion is huge. Minced meat is adequately marinated with the special sauce. A simple but makes a hearty plate. Slurps!

Hokkaido Cakes OK Mar 31, 2014

Categories : Western variety | Sweets/Snack | Bakery / Cake / Kuih

Seems like various bakeries brand has sprung up recently, even East Coast region is not excluded.

While on the recent trip to East Coast Mall, bumped into these cutesy confectionary kiok that sold the famous Hokkaido Cake.
Chiffon-soft is the signature for such cake, but rather dry. Nonetheless, the cream is decently milky and not too cloying.
As for the Hokkaido Cream Puff, same velvet cream is used and the puff is rather much solid than the usual ones you try in KL.
But the Classic Choc Roll is the fairest amongst all. Soft and moist, delightfully pampering your palette. Best eaten after chilled lol

Banana Milkshake Smile Sep 12, 2013   (Related Review)

Banana Milkshake

It is actually quite a surprise to be able to find Banana Milkshake over here, on the beach, haha lol Still not too bad the way it is presented, in a tall glass of coarsely blended ice cubes, that is added with some milk and unmistakably banana taste. Topping towering tall on top is some milky and creamy layer of foam, with some dashes of chocolate bits too. Quite satisfying, but would be better if it is more chocolaty for banana really pairs well with this sweetness lol

Zitoni Napoleoni Smile Sep 12, 2013   (Related Review)

Zitoni Napoleoni

Due to its alien and unique name given, so I called for it to try out of curiosity, haha. Later do I find that it is actually zitoni pasta that is cooked with some reddish sweet and sour sauce, that comes with mild spiciness. The sauce does reminds me of the savory type that is eaten with Blue Marlin at one the café at Long Beach. This little mini hollow pipes are sautéed al dente with the spices, some onions and also the appetizing gravy. It is decently toothsome albeit very humbly served with some sides of cucumber and tomatoes smile Yum Yum!

Creamy Fettuccine Smile Sep 12, 2013   (Related Review)

Creamy Fettuccine

This Creamy Fettuccine is actually quite nice, way better than the other café at Long Beach. Looking at its location, this plate of pasta considered not bad, for able to dish up a simple dish based on limited resources so called lol The fettuccine is cooked al dente, before added in some cream to thicken it a bit. The minced meat that is added to it is actually pretty savory and comes with some smokiness. I think it must be from the mashed burger meat patty, for it really taste more or less the same. But this combination could be regarded as quite a good one lol
