Brownies OK Dec 17, 2013   (Related Review)

Although the dessert pick might not be the inhouse recommended choice as compared to Tiramisu, guess it’s alright to try out Brownies, after gotten good feedback from its staff who enjoy some sweeter. It comes in a rich and coarsely grinded nuts, with brownies served with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup drizzled at the base. We can’t stop but to continue to enjoy the ice cream most, alongside scoops of the warm brownies intermittently. The mashed nuts also lends some nutty texture which can be quite addictive. If only the cake could be less sweet, or perhaps substitute with dark chocolate, that would be more superb!

Pizza San Francisco  OK Dec 17, 2013

After a short ‘bookathon’ at Big Bad Wolf held at MIECC, we finally headed down to the mall for some dinner to conclude the carefree Sunday.

Here we go, Pizza San Francisco located brightly with its bold written trademark, located just next to Chilla Cup. The restaurant is spacious and holds a sense of serenity feel. Decently decorated on the wall are those paintings depicting the signature menu from the inspiration by this restaurant..

Drinks selection are rather common in the list, so Ipoh White Coffee, couldn’t be any wrong. We actually brushed off the idea of having latte for the disappointment that if the latte is served without any art per se, but this is just our personal opinion lol

Pizza is a must as this remains the signature dish from this eatery. We call for a regular Quattro Stagione that comes with slices of turkey salami, mushroom, bell pepper, fresh tomato and mozarella cheese. I must say I enjoy the gooeyness of the cheese that is generously doused on top of the pizza dough, covering the bed of all the ingredients goodness. It is another wonderful gourmet enjoyment when you get to bite on the crisp and juicy bell peppers that don’t too try through the baking process. It will taste better and more comforting is the pizza bread base could be less thicker, other than that, nothing else to complain.

Bear Paw  OK Dec 16, 2013

It was a sunny afternoon today when the idea of hanging out abruptly came into picture. And well, I thought it was a pretty fresh idea and to let’s see what an ad hoc foodie adventure would bring us lol

Our first stop bring us back to Sri Petaling, an area that offers massive dining options, be it casual, fast food till restaurant suitable for family alike. As my friend was so eager and trying hard to pester me into trying out this new bun in town, and so, I gave in and there we went, Bear Paw located at the same lot occupied by Ochado, but just slightly further in.

The place was airy and exuded some warm ambience with the orangey lights around. It was also accompanied by some decorated Christmas tree and some Yuletide ornaments to signify the festive mood which is just barely fortnight’s away. Soon, we made our way to the counter to order for two sets of Meal 2: Brown Sugar Bear Paw with Okinawa Milk Tea.

The buns arrived warmly in a triangular plastic wrapper boldly bearing its signature brand “Bear Paw”. Undeniably, it was definitely a cutesy sight of these kickshaw bear which were quite fluffy as you bite on them. As these paw-shaped soft buns were of brown sugar variant, you get to taste the fragrance of the sugar aroma amidst the very mild sweetness of it.

For the Meal 2 set, the bun came with the choice of spicy chicken fillet that was doused with generous wrath of teriyaki sauce alongside some few slices of lettuce and some tomatoes. Chicken meat was agreeably juicy and tender with some crispiness on the outside. However, I personally found the accompanied sauce was a tad too overpowering with ginger taste alongside some sweet and sour mixture. I guess it would fare better if it was replaced with black pepper gravy instead? Anyway, it was just my two cents.

Although overall the bun didn’t leave much deep impression, there was this Okinawa tea to save the day. It was pleasantly milky with the tea fragrance. Not too sweet but just nice in wetting the palate with the goodness of Okinawa tea. Slurps!

Kimchi Fried Rice OK Dec 13, 2013   (Related Review)

Kimchi Fried Rice

It was quite a late evening to actually have dinner, but the mood was kind of spiced up when the Korean boss jokingly uttered “ You Day Day Kimchi” ? LOL…… Didn’t know that he actually recognizes me tongue Anyway, after some light moment, I got my Kimchi Fried Rice served. The portion is just nice, considering to have carbo intake during the late night and it is suitable for our vegan folks too. The taste of kimchi is agreeably eminent and is done just nice, so you won’t feel it’s too tang taste. Paired with some thinly sliced lettuce with some black sesame, it is considered quite a hearty meal. Kamsahamnida!

Jjajang Rice OK Dec 05, 2013

Jjajang Rice

Finally, I get to taste the wonderful Jjajang dish again in my own country, that is also authentically prepared by Korean native owner as well. It has been 2 years since I have tried it at Jeju island where you really get to taste and immerse yourselves in their culture. Holiday aside, when it comes to taste locally, with this version of rice, I would say it is still pretty good, whereby the each grain of rice is pleasantly drenched in their homemade thick Jjajang sauce. It comes with cubes of carrot and onions to enhance the sweetness naturally besides some addition of sesame to spice it up further.
