Honey Green Tea Smile Aug 09, 2013

Glad am finally back to this place of food haven lol It is always that packed with people whenerver you passe by especially the youngsters. Ahem, not excluding me lol

So called for this Honey Green Tea while waiting the busy waiters to entertain us. The combination of this drink is quite soothing, much better when served chilled. The rather subtle taste of the green tea is being complemented by the natural sweetness of the honey. So it is not too bland but a rather matcha-flavoured honey drink. Rejuvenating indeed!

Apom Smile Jul 26, 2013

Categories : Indian | Stall / Warung

This is a common fare back in Penang. Also known as apong, it is a sweet Indian pancake that come in two flavours – banana or sweet corn. A good apom should be slightly crispy on the outside but remain soft and fluffy on the inside. This whitish cake is also quite spongy, whilst wrapping the yummy fillings inside, in this case, am having banana option since the sweet corn is tad mundane lol The banana filling is actualy quite soft and very fragrant too. Don’t worry they are not too sweet and trust me, after one piece you are sure to ask for a couple more lol

Grilled Dory Fish  Smile Jul 15, 2013

Grilled Dory Fish

Usually when patronizing Manhattan Fish Market, I would go for its famous Fish N Chips. But this time round, thinking to give its other menu a try, thus call for their Grilled Dory Fish.
Other than the usual crispy skin, this grilled version of Dory is much more on the smoky side, but still retaining the tenderness of the fish meat within. It comes with the special sauce like the butter garlic and also tartar sauce. The former is obviously more garlicky, but taste good with some buttery hint. When drenched on the grilled fillet and some squeezes of lemon juice, it helps to bring up the overall flavor. Rather than the usual companion which is rice, but mine is with their thick cut fries since the staff relates that the original pairing has ran out of stock. Guess I just have to be satisfied with this replacement then.

Fish N’ Chips Smile Feb 21, 2013

Fish N’ Chips

It’s definitely a simple Fish N’ Chips that I have for my breakfast ( I really mean it! lol), and it is delish. I know it’s bit heavy to start off the day, but once awhile breaking the rules shouldn’t make any harms right? tongue

Presented with all the necessary side dishes like cucumber, tomato, fries (My favourite! ), with mayonnaise to go along with, is set to satisfy my craving for fried fish fillet. The batter of the fish is really crispy and nicely fried till golden brown, whilst the meat intact is still very juicy and soft. Not too greasy and the inhouse mayonnaise is quite savory as it has been mixed with some diced onions and tomatoes. It is considered good deal at this humble price!

Lo Mai Kai Smile Feb 21, 2013

Lo Mai Kai

This chicken glutinous is quite nice. It isn’t too oily and with generous portion of chicken meat. The meat is very tender and adequately marinated, along with the glutinous rice which is also well mixed with seasonings like 5 spices, if am not mistaken about the flavor. It’s doesn’t look as plan as the exterior when you get to chew on the mushroom slices occasionally and dip with the chilli sauce. Yum yum!
