Chicken Maryland Smile Aug 09, 2013   (Related Review)

At the utter of this name, reminds me of the sweet childhood when dining the similar fare at Komtar, which remains the best so far in my memory vividly. However, it has ceased operating now as the owner has shifted for better venture.

Anyway, the Chicken Maryland by James Foo, is considered equally good. Comes with quite a big portion with all the fried fillets, is enough to make you drooling at just the mere sight at it lol The combo consists of ham, breaded banana, sausage and the unmistakably chicken chop! Chicken fillet is really juicy and seriously crispy on the outside! Not too oily and still bearable. It is the breaded banana that capture my heart as it is done just nice, retaining the soft and sweetness of the fruit, while remaining crunchy on the skin. Not bad lol

Stuffed Fish

Like its namesake, this fare comes with a decent plate of fish fillets at a really affordable price. Served in a big plate with assorted side dishes like bread, salad, my favourite fries, and last but not least, the show-stealer of the day, stuffed fish. I enjoy the part where it is really generously stuffed with cheese n’ ham within the crispy layer. The ham has been sliced and covered with cheese thoroughly. Not too cheesy but just nice. Paired with the chunky huge fries is already very satisfying.

Iced Milo

Unless, you are still craving for something homey and familiar with at this western café, then getting a glass of Iced Milo definitely won’t go wrong. Comes served in a tall glass with coarsely crashed ice cubes, it helps chilled the drink faster and evenly. . Sweetness level of the beverage is also acceptable and not too sweet. Guess it still make a decent drink especially when you are having it at about 10 pm lol

Honey Green Tea Smile Aug 09, 2013

Glad am finally back to this place of food haven lol It is always that packed with people whenerver you passe by especially the youngsters. Ahem, not excluding me lol

So called for this Honey Green Tea while waiting the busy waiters to entertain us. The combination of this drink is quite soothing, much better when served chilled. The rather subtle taste of the green tea is being complemented by the natural sweetness of the honey. So it is not too bland but a rather matcha-flavoured honey drink. Rejuvenating indeed!

Apom Smile Jul 26, 2013

Categories : Indian | Stall / Warung

This is a common fare back in Penang. Also known as apong, it is a sweet Indian pancake that come in two flavours – banana or sweet corn. A good apom should be slightly crispy on the outside but remain soft and fluffy on the inside. This whitish cake is also quite spongy, whilst wrapping the yummy fillings inside, in this case, am having banana option since the sweet corn is tad mundane lol The banana filling is actualy quite soft and very fragrant too. Don’t worry they are not too sweet and trust me, after one piece you are sure to ask for a couple more lol
