Muffins

You could find some decently baked muffins at Harold’s Bread while on the way journeying back to the northern part. You could choose from vanilla or for the sweeter tooth, some chocolate chips muffin. They come in a nicely wrapped cupcake paper and portion wise is decent. The cake is spongy and not too sweet. For the chocolate version, you could opt for either with or without dashes of castor sugar. For me, I would be happy to skip it

Ipoh White Coffee

As Gopeng is quite near to the town of Perak, for sure it is not going to miss promoting the famous Ipoh White Coffee But of course, having your cuppa here is meant to be quick for it is just another R&R stop while travelling to north. The coffee smells as good as it is, the unmistakably fragrant coffee aroma. I would love to have some milk to my coffee as always, for that would help smoothen the overall experience. A simple refreshment like this cuppa would help to awaken you up in a way, before resuming the rest of the travel journey.

Calling out for all fruit cake fans out there. If you would prefer some richer enjoyment, you might want to consider this confectionary which is based on the original recipe of Danish Master Baker. I would say the cake is rather compact with fruits like raisin, walnut, cherries and many more. It is slightly darker in colour compare to other fruit cakes, which is much yellowish in colour. The various texture of the cakes give the fan a very delectable indulgement, and one may also notice there are mild lingering aroma of liquer(am not too sure), which added to the fragrance overall. Else, it could be due to the fermentation by the many times of fruits ingredients. Just take note that it might be tad buttery and sweet kind of dessert, hehe.

Chanity Fruit

Should the journey back is expected to take longer time, then you could just help yourself with some dessert while waiting for the time to pass by. The seating area is actually quite comfy as it is al fresco at the exterior part of the outlet. This Chanity Fruit is presented in the form of some soft cake with milk cream, before topping off with some strawberries. The cake is quite moist and with some hint of vanilla fragrance. Best eaten while chilled.

Thanks to my friend who hails from Air Tawar, got me this local delights on the way she coming back to KL from her hometown. Unlike the usual similar ‘ketupat palas’ that we seen here, albeit smaller size, this triangular kueh comes with some filing in it. You would find some baked mung bean in between the glutinous sticky rice parcels that are soft and hint of fragrance from the palm leaves wrapper. Although it looks bit bland since the triangular parcel is in mostly white grain, you still can taste some mild saltiness and the nice aroma of the mung bean. I personally quite like it for it is a good substitute of Lo Mai Kai
