Coffee @ Coffee Stain by Joseph OK Mar 11, 2014

Categories : Western variety | Café | Pizza/Pasta | Steaks / Chops | Burgers / Sandwiches

Another cosy place to consider whenever you are out looking for some nice place to have a cuppa. Coffee Stain by Joseph is located at Publika and has been spreading by words of mouth pertaining to their 3D art design, but at an additional charge of course. Coffee aroma wise, is good and nothing to complain about.

For more foodie rolls, feel free to drop by smile

Local Delights at Madam Kwan's OK Mar 11, 2014
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Malaysian variety | Restaurant | Steaks / Chops | Noodles | Nasi Lemak

Guess another return trip again at Madam Kwan's for a farewell function. As always, it is that crowded and more often than not, need to be a little more patient when waiting your orders to arrive. Good local delicacies prepared with a slight twist of Western influence. The only thing that need improvement could be a speedier service perhaps?

Feel free to drop by for more foodie rolls or any feedback is most welcome smile

Another Coffee Place @ TTDI OK Mar 05, 2014

Categories : Middle Eastern | Restaurant | Steaks / Chops

Ah, yes, another gastronomical sharing on coffee topic again!
This time round has brought us to one modest coffee place located at TTDI, which goes by the name of Mukha. Instantly, it struck my mind that this place might has some Arabian elements in its F&B offerings, as depicted by its culturally-rich brand name.

True enough, this cozy café has include some influence from Middle Eastern culinary wise, as it draws its inspiration from a humble town located in Yemen. With a quaint settting with artsy chalky menu board, one gets to unlax with good company and great food here. You can choose to have your meal at the indoor air-conditioned area, or merely enjoying natural air at the contiguous al fresco dining.

Café Latte
As usual, my coffee regime would start off with a Latte pick smile Soothingly smooth with the pleasant bodied coffee aroma, accompanied by a Red Indian latte art. Actually I couldn’t figure it out earlier when it was just being prepared by the barista at the counter, which seems to me more like a butterfly, due to its inversed projection. Only after hearing the barista whispering to me “Red Indian”, do I realize the fact, lol.

Iced Mint Chocolate
Or the conventional way of savouring your chilled version of chocolate beverage, with some tinge of mint scent. This comes ideally especially on a sultry afternoon.

Iced Café Latte with Gula Melaka
To make way for some fresh innovative ideas, the ubiquitous Iced Latte has been added a twist, by incorporating Gula Melaka in it. Taste wise, not too bad as you get to enjoy a natural sweetness blend in it.

Baked Egg
One particular menu from the kitchen that is seems to be ordered by most tables, the Baked Egg. It comes decently with eggs, roasted tomatoes, shredded cheese, sprinkles of parsley and served with baguette.

Till then, cheers and enjoy your cuppa!

Fish Curry Beriani OK Mar 05, 2014
Categories : Indian | Restaurant | Burgers / Sandwiches | Vegetarian

Fish Curry Beriani
After a short hiatus from Middle Eastern cuisine, am back for other recipes then. We decided to go for something unconventional one, that is Fish Curry Beriani, since most of the time, the beriani menu is being dominated by chicken meat.

The lunch set that we have comes with Dal and Veg of the day, Achar, Papadom, Chutney, Salad and also Ice Cream. I have always enjoy the chutney very much for the piquancy of the relish somehow improves my appetite overall lol Since the main catch today is on Fish Curry, we try it out and indeed, the fish meat is soft and tender, not overcooked. As for the curry gravy, it tastes bit sour amidst the saltiness. Nevertheless, still considered savory and not too bad, and it is better to go with white rice. This set could be quite full as it also comes with naan bread for extra boost : )

Gulab jamun
Moment after we enjoyed the carbo meal, our taste bud is further tickled with their traditional dessert, which is Gulab Jamun. It looks like a candied fried sweet potato balls, but is very much sweeter than its camouflage. Therefore, you might want to go easy with this Indian traditional dessert.

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Buffet

Hidden in one cozy community shopping mall located somewhere nearby University of Malaya lies a chic and sophisticatedly-designed Japanese restaurant; Yama-J Japanese Fusion. This dining place is nestled at Jaya One Shopping Mall, which you would usually pass by when you are heading to SS2 area. Thus making it pretty noticeable even from the road side.

Evening was still early by the time we reach, so we were ushered by the fairly friendly staff swiftly to our tables. Environment was cool and comfy, with dim lighting accompanying. Sipping down some hot green tea with the calming surrounding, was quite blissful actually.

Soon the bento sets were served.
Each set comes with sides of miso soup, edamame, seaweed salad, Japanese lasagna and oysters, with cotton cake as the dessert.

Unagi Don
Unagi was juicily savory with the teriyaki sauce. But the cheesy maki that adopted the name as Japanese lasagna over here seems to win my heart over even more.

Salmon Sashimi
Sashimi slices were fresh and taste even better after chilled on the bed of the coarsely-shaved ice.

Oh, besides ala cartes, they do serve sashimi buffet to cater for sashimi enthusiast.

Makes a decent chill out place to sorta relax at night.
