Matcha fare! Smile Feb 02, 2016

Our choice of dessert place last night was Nana's Green Tea at Pavilion.
We're big matcha desserts and after wiping the parfait glasses clean, we're super glad that we made the right choice to sample this place out and finally understood the big hype over it.
Judging from the name, Nana's Green Tea, I knew that I had to give their green tea dessert a try here. So I decided to have the Matcha 'Nama Chocolate' Parfait and Black Sesame Gateux Chocolate Parfait.

Both were served in a parfait glass and beautifully layered with different ingredients. The Matcha 'Nama Chocolate' Parfait was a lovely bittersweet symphony derived from the Matcha Chocolate Ganache as well as Vanilla Ice Cream. The most bottom layer sitting in the glass are combination of Kanten Jelly and Matcha syrup, soft serve Vanilla ice cream, generous layer of crunchy cornflakes, topped off with a scoop of Matcha Ice Cream, cubes of Matcha Chocolate Ganache, red bean paste, whipped cream and lastly finished off with a drizzle of Matcha Syrup. The red bean paste complemented the matcha chocolate ganache, making it an ideal bittersweet dessert treat. The choice of matcha syrup to finish everything off was the perfect drizzle as the kanten jellies doesn't bring much flavours out on its own.
Next up is the Black Sesame Gateux Chocolate Parfait. This dessert was perfectly executed with their own house made Black Sesame Gateux chocolate, served with Black Sesame Paste and Black Sesame Ice Cream. It is indeed another heavenly dessert. The good quality of black sesame was evident in its rich flavour. Their house made Black Sesame Gateux was the highlight and could easily stand out on its own.

Truly Penang food. Smile Jun 20, 2016

Categories : Malaysian variety | Restaurant | Noodles

Over the past few years, Little Penang Cafe has been one of the more popular restaurants to get authentic Penang food. Aside from the famous Asam Laksa here, another pulling factor is the Siamese Lemak Laksa which is basically a bowl of rich coconut milk base with rice noodles. The choice of noodles are interchangeable, and I am a big kuey teow (flat rice noodles) fan.
Their noodles were especially delightful with its rich santan aroma, flavorful toppings and well made noodles. Pair this awesome dish with a cup of triple layer iced tea and you're bound to have memories haunting you after that with cravings for it!

burger night! Smile Jun 15, 2016

Being a first timer and the fact that I wasn't a big burger fanatic, I would normally settle for anything which comes recommended.

I went for the Porky Nest burger which is basically a burger comprising of grilled pork patty which packs a punch and juiciness to it, fried wired potatoes, grilled italian zucchini finished off with a slather of homemade herbed cream cheese.

The buns were made in house, hence the fluffliness!

The flavours went together very well and it tasted amazing. The only downside to dining here is the long waiting time for tables and food to be ready.

salad bowl day! Smile Jun 02, 2016

Categories : Western variety | Restaurant | Burgers / Sandwiches

Salads for dinner can be bland and boring, however fret not, things are not the same when it comes to having one at Chimichurri.
I started off my salad bowl with a base of chopped purple cabbages, cucumber slices, lettuces, tomatoes, corns. brown rice, couscous, mashed peas and my choice of meat, which is grilled dory fish fillet.
To finish it all, I had my salad bowl finished off with lashings of chimmichurri and tomato chutney sauces. The ingredients put all together makes a great combination of taste and flavour.
The ingredients offered at Chimichurri was plenty and fresh. However, I was there late evening and most were out. So, a word of advise, is to head on there early if you're looking for more!

Fancy breakfast fare! OK May 04, 2016
Categories : Western variety | Café | Pizza/Pasta | Desserts

The Butcher's Breakfast here is pretty much just like how any other breakfast are served. I was a famished lady after completing a run first thing in the morning, so I knew I had to have something heavier.

Every ingredient in the Butcher's Breakast came in a pair and if you are not a heavy eater, it's best to share this dish as the portion is generous.

Next up, I managed to give their famous french toast, which goes by the name Drunken Frenchmen a try! The ingredients used in making it is interesting as they integrate the use of Guinesss into it.

The french toast was crowned with a single scoop of Forty Licks vanilla ice-cream garnished with a mint leaf and surrounded by lashings of what might be a Guinness-based reduction.
OM NOM NOM.
