RM2 Vegetarian Restaurant Smile Feb 25, 2014

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant

The most affordable vegetarian restaurant around. Perhaps their objective is to encourage more people to take and love vege. Rice with three different types of vegetables cost only RM 2. They also have other a la carte meals like Wan Tan Mee, Curry Noodles, chi cheong fun and much more which costs between RM 2 and RM 3 only. The food taste ordinary and I like their dried chillies potatoes. The turnip a bit salty for me. The serving is quite large too ! What else you could expect and comment with such a price. Head over to this place if you are looking for vegetarian meal or on a tide budget tongue

Oh ya... is a self service restaurant. Please keep the table clean for others. Once you are done with your meal, throw the left overs if any in a dustbin provided. Put the plates and utensils in a separate bin provided smile

Most regulars frequent to this stall for the loh mee. The loh mee here has a nicely done dan fa (蛋花) gravy with vinegar. Not enough vinegar ? Just further add on as you wish. I am one of those vinegar lover tongue. Lime (limau kasturi) also provided. Not sure if the lime for the loh mee but I just added in and it gave a refreshing taste to the loh mee. Yummy .... There are others to offer such as pan mee, tom yam, nasi lemak, fried mi hun and yam cake.

Omega soft-boiled eggs OK Feb 18, 2014

Categories : Malaysian variety | Café | Noodles | Halal | Nasi Lemak

Depends on individual and geographic, some like it in a runnier egg, some like it in gelatin state. Even to some, the perfect is to have a fully cooked white and a runny centre.

To many of us in Malaysia, the conventional way of having soft-boiled egg is to crack it into a bowl to which light soy sauce and pepper are added for flavouring. The ideal soft-boiled egg here will be runny egg white and yolk. A little improvement on the timing and level of water are needed for soft-boiled egg of this Old Town White Coffee outlet. The egg is not boiled all rounded as some of the egg white seem solidified. Fortunately the egg yolk turned out as it should be.

Fried Spaghetti Breakfast Set Smile Feb 18, 2014

Satisfying fried spaghetti with sides of ham, hot dog and a Sunny Side Up. The fried spaghetti comes with a choice of either black pepper or tomato sauce. I had it without any sauce as the fried spaghetti itself already very flavourful with sprinkle of black pepper and basil leaves and some olive oil I guess. I like the fact that the spaghetti is fried perfectly in which not soggy and very chewy indeed. Another plus point is their efficiency. You will be served in less than 5 minutes in regardless of the large crowd without neglecting the quality of their food. Taste great, not oily and served warm.

Chinese Nasi Lemak RM 5.00

Chinese Nasi Lemak RM 5.00

Not a fan of Chinese nasi lemak but as always there is exceptional. Nasi lemak stall in front of Restoran Jalan Tanjung Dua is the only stall I will make a come back for more at this moment in time. The sambal tasted very close to the Malay counterpart. The rice was not sticky and fragrant with little coconut milk to go with the usual condiments of hard-boiled egg, anchovies, peanuts and cucumber. The anchovies and peanuts were very fresh as proven by its crunchiness. Thumbs up for the simple potatoes curry. The potatoes texture alike mashed potato when you put into your mouth. The curry neither overly thick nor thin but just nice to hold on the potatoes. Rarely take canned pork luncheon meat when dining out but I took it this round and not to my disappointment, it was of quite a high quality of canned pork luncheon meat. The meat was sliced into 1 cm thick, dipped into egg before pan-frying it. Not too oily and the meat still juicy. Well quite a heavy breakfast to start with but it's all worth it. Satisfied to the max!
Cham C Kosong RM 1.50

I found my favourite cup of kopitiam's coffee, Cham C Kosong here. This the best so far and very consistent in term of taste. Very smooth and no bitter taste till the last drop. No any other local kopitiam could beat the uncle who made this cup of coffee. Satisfied to the max! smile
