Rose Caramel Macchiato 3D OK Jul 15, 2014
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Western variety | Café | Steaks / Chops | Noodles

Coffee Chemistry Signature is not just a coffee cafe, they do serve Asian-Western fusion cuisines.

We kind of like the simple settings of this cafe, it gives a very comfortable atmosphere.

Each table is adorned with a potted flower centerpiece.

Rose caramel macchiato 3D (RM 12.90).
This is one of the popular drink in Coffee Chemistry Signature. Probably due to the adorable 3D art. And so..... I placed an order for this drink and it took awhile for the drink to be served. Doubtlessly the 3D bear foam is pretty darn cute, but this is not my favourite macchiato. This coffee is mouthfeel smooth though, not too sweet, not bitter. But the combination of flavour with notes of rose and caramel just simply do not tickle the taste buds of mine.

Passion fruits smoothies (RM 12.90).
Smooth and thick. Dan's all-time-favourite. Healthy, filling and refreshing. A tangy treat right for any time of the day.

Carbonara beef bacon mushroom pasta (RM 16).
A fabulous carbonara pasta. Creamy and cheesy, with lots of bacon and mushrooms. Thumbs up.

Escalope of chicken with mango chutney (RM20).
Quite a thin piece of chicken escalope and crunchy. People like me who do not fond of the texture of bland chicken breast find this chicken escalope pleasing, especially with the mango chutney (good balance of sweet and sour). An appetizing dish.
An escalope is a piece of boneless meat that has been thinned out (source from Wikepedia)

Gong Cha singnature milk green tea (RM 6.90)
It consists of three layers. Milk froth on top, followed by green tea in the middle and herbal jelly at the bottom.

The recommended ways to drink this tea.
First is to sip the freshly brewed tea through the milk froth without a straw. Second step is to slurp some tea followed by the milk through the straw for a smooth aftertaste. Last is to stir and enjoy a perfect blend of milky froth and aromatic tea.

This is how it looks like after you stir and mix all the layers. The milk froth itself was really good. However, the tea in overall was too milky and hence caused the green tea not so rich in taste. However, this drink in overall still acceptable because the creamy taste of the milk froth is really great.

Good place for a brunch retreat Smile Jan 12, 2014

The Good Batch, one of the cafe which being featured as the top 10 brunch cafe in The Star newspaper, is definitely a place that worth checking out. We were there on a Saturday night for dinner.

This cafe is quite spacious. With cemented floor, wooden tables and dim lighting, it provides a calm and relaxing environment for you to dine in.

After a glance at their menu, then only we discover they are offering all-day breakfast/brunch dishes as well as a few after 6pm mains, desserts, coffee, juices and alcohol beverages (Not to forget to mention, this cafe has an all-day bar). Although with quite limited options, all the food items in the menu sound delectable (especially those egg-laden breakfast platters).

Caffe Latte (RM 8.50).
Not too sweet, not too bitter, and to my brother liking.
Between, complimentary water is given to all the dine-in customers.

The "Ang Moh" (RM 25.90)
Consists of two softly scrambled organic eggs, streaky beef bacon, grilled chicken sausage, ripened cherry tomatoes, baked "Portobello" mushroom, pan fried potatoes, dad's baked beans and lightly toasted bread. We like the scrambled eggs as they are softly set, slightly runny in places and moist in texture. The streaky beef bacon was irresistible, it wasn't the crispy type, not too hard in texture and most importantly not salty. The cherry tomatoes were juicy and the pan fried potatoes were tasted really good, slight crispy on the outside yet perfectly done on the inside.

The baked "Portobello" mushroom which served together with The "Angmoh". One of the best baked mushroom we ever tasted, great tasting, juicy and we like its dense flavour.

Hang Over Mess (RM 20.90)
Corned beef mixed with pan-fried potatoes and capsicums, topped with two sunny side-up and drizzled with herb-infused Hollandaise. Portion was considered small although with quite generous amount of potatoes and corned beef. The sunny side-up was good, especially when you eat it with the Hollandaise sauce. However, the corned beef hash texture wasn't really pleasant to us in term of the tenderness (too soft), but it goes very well with the pan-fried potatoes.

The Italian Job (RM 24.90)
A creamy Portobello mushroom risotto topped with poached egg. The poached egg was perfect and good. The same goes to the Portobello mushroom, so good in taste and juicy. The risotto was made with cheese and it was smooth, creamy and oozy. A thumbs up for this dish, although the portion was quite small.

New Yorker (RM 23.90)
Version of hotdog with a twist, topped with corned beef, completed with a mix of their homemade sauces, served with a side of chips. Hotdog was just normal, corned beef was the same as those served in Hangover Mess, the chips were good and in overall, this dish wasn't a bad try.

The Good Stuff (RM24.90)
A mouth-watering dessert which looks appetizing. This freshly baked toast with mangoes was lightly dusted with powdered sugar and paired with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream. One of the best sweet dessert we ever tried.

Awesome place for a brunch retreat, although price is on a higher side.

3 Little Pigs (RM15.90). Main signature pork burger topped with streaky bacon, ham, caramelized onions and melted cheese. Two thumbs up for this. The minced pork is so juicy. Even though they use only normal bun for the burger, but together with all of the ingredients in combination make this pork burger an awesome one and heavenly taste. Surprisingly the presence of bacon doesn't make the pork burger tastes too salty. I'm in love and I can't resist it. I will definitely visit again for this. Not to forget to mention, this burger is served with fries and vegetables too. The fries is just like any other ordinary fries, nothing so special.

I purposely cut it into half and snapped a picture of it. U can see very clearly from this photo what's in each layer from the top to bottom. The melted cheese, the pork, the bacon, the ham, tomato and vege. Awesomeness!

Porky Chop OK Dec 09, 2013
Categories : Western variety | Restaurant | Steaks / Chops | Burgers / Sandwiches

Kind of shocked when I first saw their menu, simple design with only a few choices of dish.

Simple decorations in Hungry Hog give me some kind of home living feel and very comfortable.

Lemonade (RM3.50). For me, to have pork dishes together with lemonade drink are perfect.

The porky chops (RM19.90), reasonable price. These juicy pork chops are served with honey mustard sauce, watercress and mash potato. This is the first time I know the existence of watercress, a type of aquatic plants and known leaf vegetables which contains very high amounts of iron, calcium, iodine, folic acid, vitamin A and C. Watercress so rich in nutrients and so much health benefits, but too bad I don't like it -.- Forget about the watercress and back to the main "cast" - the pork chop. It is nicely grilled and very juicy but somehow we don't really like the sauce and can't finish it. The mashed potato is soft and tastes good.
