Gelato<3 Smile Dec 15, 2013

Stickhouse, hailed all the way from Italy, carries a new innovative healthy gelato concept which suits my agenda of trying to eat clean =b Why so? Because Stickhouse Gelato are produced using only natural & genuine ingredients without the addition of artificial flavouring, colouring or preservative.

Stickhouse serves up to 20 flavours in Malaysia, with seasonal flavour popping out time to time.

Apart from the usage of healthy ingredients, the technique Stickhouse uses in the production of their gelato also makes a huge difference too. Most ice-cream manufacture adds air to increase the volume of their frozen dessert. In fact, the air added into ice-cream can go up to a whopping 120%! The quality and natural flavours of the frozen desserts are deteriorate, as a result.

Stickhouse Gelato are produced using a slower churning method. The gelatos only have an average of 25% air resulting in a creamier & denser texture of ice-cream. The churning method also ensures that the natural flavours of the gelato are retained ;)

Seems so tempting right? We were given the privilege to try out any flavours we wanted! lol

After you've picked your gelato flavour, pick your desired chocolate dip and toppings!

Chocolate dip :
- Dark chocolate
- Milk chocolate
- White chocolate

Nut toppings :
- Almond
- Pistachio
- Chocrice
- Hazelnut

The pricing for the toppings is RM3 for full dip/coat, and RM1.50 for half dip/coat.

Weight watchers & health-conscious ones, don't fret! As Stickhouse only uses high quality chocolate which are deemed a "heart friend" due to its ability to keep your cardiovascular system healthy!

Yogurt, coated with a layer of Milk Chocolate & Hazelnuts
The yogurt was smooth & velvety. Really creamy and goes so well with the chocolate & nuts! Feels like I'm taking a bite of heaven yumm!

Strawberry Yogurt with Milk Chocolate coating & tossed with Almond Nuts
As zero air is added into the Stickhouse's gelato during the manufacturing process, the gelato produced is much denser & creamier than regular ice-cream! You can see how dense the Strawberry yogurt is from the pic! (: Each bite delivers a full punch of strawberry goodness.

Grape Sorbet
I got a little jelak of the chocolate so I decided to try out a gelato without any toppings/dippings.
The grape flavour tasted really grape-ish & real. It felt like as if I am eating frozen grapes, on a stick. You can see the grapes fiber inside the gelato too!

Vanilla & Macadamia, drizzled in a little dark chocolate (seasonal)
Creamy with an aromatic vanilla essence, this flavour won my heart on the first bite. The crunchy macadamia was a contrast to the smooth velvety texture of the gelato.

Of course, it is not compulsory to completely dip your gelato in chocolate! You can choose to just dip half of your gelato in, or drizzle a little chocolate onto your gelato. The professional staffs at Stickhouse would be glad to comply to your wishes!

Had a really great time trying out the gelatos (: Too bad I only managed to try out 5 flavours. It was too much for my stomach to handle haha (:

Morning Marilyn RM14.90
Chicken Frank Slices in creamy black pepper sauce, mushroom and cheese omelette, grilled tomato, baked beans and toast

This dish was a little disappointing :/ When it was served to us it was already cold =(
The omelette has a buttery aromatic fragrance. However, it was overcooked and...the amount of cheese and mushroom was reaaaaaally scanty. The tomato was baked to perfection. It was sweet & juicy just the way I like it. The chicken sausage was seasoned with chives, thank goodness not chopped cilantro ^^" However, it tasted average, couldn't really taste the creamy black pepper sauce, nothing to shout about. Baked beans are the ones you get from a can. Salad was...salad. LOL. Boyfriend ate the bread and I forgotten to ask him how did it fared.

Personally, I felt that the price is steep for such a small portion.

Overall, I'd rate wonder milk a 6.5/10 smile The environment would score a perfect 5/5 though.I'd say go for the baked potatoes and wondermilk ;)

Jacket potatoes! Smile Dec 06, 2013

I wonder if anyone here is imaginating a milk carton, wearing his underwear outside, clad in a cape when they heard about "Wondermilk"...

Hey, according to 9gag, you're not alone.

LOL, okay back to topic. So boyfriend decided to drive to Citta Mall to watch THOR 2! We were deciding between Baci and Wondermilk to have lunch at. We picked Wondermilk simply because my Pinch of Salt card (Discount card for Chaswood Restaurants) was out of privileges lol!

Once you set foot into Wondermilk you'll feel like you've been transported to some cute little sweet shop that you always read in Enid Blyton's book. With the exposed red brick wall, all the colourful banners hanging around and also the quirky posters plastered all over the wall.
I really love the interior of Wondermilk. It felt really homey, thanks to the artistic & creative interior design. I felt like it was really PINTREST inspired ;)

Their food menu!
Wondermilk mostly serves deli-style food, specializing in sandwiches and snacks such as fries lol
Wondermilk is a self-service restaurant. Once you made your order, you'll be given a tin with your order number. Your number will be called out once your drinks are ready. =)

As we were waiting for our food, I whipped out my camera and start snapping away! After all, the interior designs there just simply irresistible

I bet every girl who comes into this shop will go ga-ga over the designs haha.

Not really sure if the food arrived fast cause I was so busy with my camera I didn't realize our order has arrived lol.

Baked Potato with Tuna & Cheese RM8.90
Jacket potato stuffed with tuna, cheese & topped with mayo and chopped spring onions, with a side of green

The cheese & mayo oozed out as I embrace the potato. The amount of tuna & cheese were generous! The baked potato was baked to perfection and I have nothing else to say. This dish was perfect!

Set Lunch Smile Dec 06, 2013

PastryVille, located directly opposite Komugi Cafe in Subang Parade

I initially planned to just go for a cup of coffee and perhaps a pastry but.. I don't know why, my foodie instinct was shouting inside me, prompting me to order the pasta set and yeah it just slipped off my mouth when I was ordering. I was not even hungry at then. But the little voice inside me was so strong I couldn't control it.
*dramatic sound effects*

PastryVille is a self service cafe. And since it is fairly new, the price displayed on the menu are nett price yayyy!

The interior of PastryVille was sleek and modern, with the black table & chairs and shelves unit displaying their pastry pairing up with their white faux brick wall plastered with contemporary poster

Iced Peach Tea (Comes with set)
This is something new which I had never try before. Love it.

Beef Bolognese (set) RM12.90
The spaghetti was cooked el-dente. Each strand of noodle was coated evenly with the rich bolognese sauce, The sauce has generous chunks of minced meat and was well-seasoned with cheese and herbs. It was simple, yet delightful. I'm not really a fan of bolognese but this dish certainly won my heart.

Before I left, I walked around, browsing through their bread and pastries. Pastryville is very creative with their pastries, as you can see. So adorable!

And best of all, it was really affordable =) I didn't get to try out any of them as I was already feeling satiated after the pasta.

So did my inner foodie voice disappointed me? Definitely not =) Glad I followed my instinct and tried out their pasta! Hope to try out more of their food from their menu!

Hainanese Fried Fish & Chips RM11.90
Fried battered fish in Hainanese sauce, with a generous side of fries. The fish was quite fresh, and it was fried to perfection. The batter was crispy, but I find it tad too thick. The sweet Hainanese sauce complements the dish perfectly, paired up with the soft and tender green peas and caramelized onion. Boy friend finds this dish average though. He claims that we have been having too much good food recently so food which are just slightly above average now taste average to him haha lol
