Tappers OK Nov 28, 2013

Tappers Cafe is a cafe serving an array of food, mostly Hainanese style and Western style. We were struck with awe while flipping through the menu. From sandwiches to omelette to nasi lemak and to laksa...Tapper's menu will definitely please anyone's palate =)

It was love at first sight. The environment, I mean. I was instantly mesmerized by its interiors. White washed walls, paired up with white garden tables and chair, with white framed windows and mirror enclosing the cafe. I felt like I am in a story book. The cafe felt so tranquil, peaceful and relaxing.

Green Tea (Pot) RM3.80

The green tea was decent and flavourful. However no one offered to refill our tea pot so I was kinda disappointed.

Caesar Salad RM10.90
Romaine salad tossed with homemade caesar dressing and parmesan cheese powder, chicken bacon, hard boiled eggs and chopped cherry tomatoes
I really liked the chicken bacon. It was fried till crisp, giving an extra crunch to the salad. However, I find the salad quite dry. The proportion of salad to dressing was slightly off.

Foot Long Sausage Smile Nov 28, 2013

Secret of Louisiana Pasta Buffet has been one of my favourite makan and hang-out spot with my friends after my first visit, thanks to their affordable price, quaint & relaxing environment and also delicious pastas.

Last month, I visited this place three times. Of course I didn't go for their pasta buffet for all three times lol! I have to watch my diet and also waistline! I decided to try out their Country Set Lunch for two of my visit.

Foot Long Chicken Sausage RM16.50
Two foot long sausage topped with sauteed button mushroom, served with a side of mashed potatoes and grilled tomato

The mashed potatoes were smooth and creamy. I loved it because it tasted "real", unlike some restaurants who like to add corn starch into their mashed potatoes to cut cost. The tomato was grilled to perfection, juicy & flavourful.
The sausage was delightful! Each bite was so juicy and flavourful! It is best eaten on its own to savour its original taste. The sausages were really filling too! I thought that two sausages will not be enough but I was feeling satiated after I finished the sausages.

Soups! OK Nov 28, 2013   (Related Review)

Mushroom Soup RM6.90
Creamy mushroom soup topped with crunchy homemade croutons served with a slice of toasted bread.
On first impression I thought that this would be another case of canned soup but the taste stated otherwise. The soup base, probably chicken broth, was flavourful. The chicken taste was quite overpowering- I'd have mistaken this for a chicken cream soup if it weren't for the menu. Bits and chunks of mushroom was found in the soup. Guan Ren liked it a lot. Personally I think it was not bad, but I'd still prefer soup with less cream, more mushroom puree.

Minestrone Soup RM6.90
Vegetable soup in spicy, tomato broth served with slices of toast bread

Generous chunks of carrots and capsicum in the soup
Not the best in town but it definitely hit the spot! The right degree of spiciness, balanced up with a low pH level, all come together in a flavourful tomato broth.

A green house within the busy, ever happening Kota Damansara....

So last Thursday, I dragged boyfriend out because his AS was over. I told him I'll drive and plan the agenda . Being a foodie, it is not hard to guess that I'll plan a foodie trip. I was deciding between Damansara Uptown, TTDI or Kota Damansara and in the end I choosed Kota Damansara as I was mesmerized by its liveliness at night after my visit to de'Armour with Openrice. Our first cafe on our agenda was Bonjour Gardens!

Located in the heart of Kota Damansara, this little bakery cum cafe has a welcoming facade- glass door with white frames, surrounded by lush green vines and trees, with white little bamboo lantern hanging around.

Like most bakery, Bonjour Garden puts their lovely pastries and breads out for display for patrons to pick and choose their desired noms. Lovely whiff of freshly baked pastry greeted us as we set foot into the bakery.

Took me a while to choose my pastries as all of them looked so tempting!

Shiny pots and pans hanging above, along with the drapes of plants, while the bright sunlight shine through the glass ceiling, emitting a warm and rustic vibe.

We were mesmerized by their Venetian Boat style sitting area which has a water pool next to it and immediately decided that that will be our dining spot.
The design of this French-like open air cafe, allows sufficient sun light to shine in the cafe, rendering a lively environment (which is perfect for camwhoring!). It also has proper shading against the rain and strong wind so diners could enjoy their meals peacefully come rain or shine. However , the heat was quite unbearable on that day. Felt as if we were in a sauna lol
The quaint and peaceful ambiance at Bonjour Garden really made me feel like we were dining in a park. (Not to mention the warmth too! It felt as if we were in a suana at some point!)

Top- Egg & Cheese Gratin RM4, Bottom- Pumpkin Boat RM3.40

We requested the staffs to warm up our pastries but our orders didn't arrive after 15 minutes. I asked the waiter and apparently she forgotten to switch on the oven! But it was okay as the waiter was apologetic and sweet so we didn't mind.

Unfortunately, our pastries wasn't warm too. Probably because the waiter didn't warm it up long enough as she was afraid that we might get impatient. A for effort.

Anyways, back to review.

Pumpkin Boat- The pastry crust was crispy & aromatic, however, I didn't like the pumpkin filling which was too sweet and hard. I was expecting a soft and fluffy pumpkin puree but all I got was a hard lump of pumpkin+sugar mixture.

Egg & Cheese Gratin- I took a bite off the flaky pastry crust, and was immediately hit with the aromatic buttery aroma. Egg and cheese, the combination that never goes wrong, was a perfect match to the buttery and flaky crust. Loved it!

So after a hearty meal in Bonjour Garden, and a round of shopping in Sunway Giza, it was time for desserts! :B Choosing a place for desserts was such a hard choice for me to make, as Sunway Giza was saturated with desserts parlour (and having desserts on a once in a blue moon basis means that the desserts have to be good or we'll be wasting our calorie intake!)! I did my research the night before, narrowed down my choices, reading food reviews from various sites, and finally decided to settle for Paddington Garden, a cafe specializes in pancakes!

Paddington Garden, a pancake cafe chain store that hails all the way from Taiwan!

Sweet pancakes, savoury pancakes, stuffed pancakes, take your pick!
We were at a loss of choice as all of them seemed so tempting! We decided to ask the waiter for recommendation and we settled for the Berry Berry Pancakes!

Paddington Garden, as its name suggested, has a garden-themed interior- Garden furnitures, paired up with the lush green surroundings, with white photo frames hanging on the wall plastered with sweet looking wallpaper, spruced up by the warm yellow light shining from the chandelier.

The interior was so warm and welcoming I could just stay there the whole day.

Berry Berry Pancake RM13.90
3 mini pancakes, drizzled with berry sauce & topped with mixed berries, ice-cream and whipped cream

Soft, fluffy, warm pancake, paired up with the sourish-sweet mixed berries, topped up with the smooth, velvety icy-cool vanilla ice-cream and airy whipped cream- the combination couldn't be better. The warmth of the pancake, melts the soft ice-cream, bringing out the aromatic vanilla flavour which was so addictive! Berry Berry good!

Overall Rating: 8/10
The pancakes were lovely, ambiance was charming, service was pleasant. The only complain I have is the size of the pancake- which was tad too small sad

Recommended Dish(es):  Berry Berry Pancake

Spending per head: Approximately RM8(下午茶)
