Niko-niko Onigiri OK Mar 19, 2014
Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Seafood | Ramen/Udon/Soba

For me, Onigiri is a Japanese food, like sushi. But sushi is seasoned with vinegar/ Sushi sauce and embraced by seaweed. Onigiri, on the other hand, can be salty or otherwise, and it appear conventionally triangular in shape.Otherwise, it can be mould into anime like Hello Kitty , Panda forming a part of Bento also.
The tanuki is delicious for me! but some of my friends think it's normal

Okaka and Tanuki Rm 3.80 per piece.
If you cannot be certain the size of the onigiri, you can always ask the waiter there to show you.The waiters there are equip with the knowledge about dishes available. Mostly, you will be full with only 2 onigiri.
Tobiko is nice!

Tobiko is nice!

Niko Niko 3-in-1 set Rm 9.90
I like to eat combo meal, but when I went there again with my boyfriend, we didn't enjoy much. He claimed that it is quite expensive because for the same portion of food, he can get it at much more cheaper price.

and my mood is affected by him... ( this is personal cases, I think he just distainted any food that he don't like)
Alternatively, you can opt for Niko-niko set for heavy meal. I would choose this if I wanted a balance meal. A sushi rice of your choice.(Tanuki, Furikake, Okaka, and side dishes.(Seaweed, Tobiko, Scallop. Potato Salad)
The miso soup is so yummy! The best I ever tried about the Japanese cuisine, it won't too salty, yet enough of taste. The tobiko is real in bouncy too!The potato salad is commonly tasty as well.

Special Niko-niko Reimen Rm12.90
I should ordered the popular hot Udon recommended by Boss. This dish remind me of Mi Sedap. No offence, but headed for HOt Udon is better.

Chuka Idako (Baby Octopus) Rm6.90
Couldn't critique on this Baby octopus as I didn't eat seafood.

Onigiri Tanuki Rm3.80
There are 3 catergory of Onigiri
Category 1- Rm2.80
Category 2- Rm3.30
Category 3- Rm3.80
Because the Tanuki is very yum.I took away Tanuki. A bit dissatified about the take away waiting time. It took about 10 mins or more to get the take away. However, what impress me about this restaurant is that the Boss is very particular about the food quality and the service of waiter there.
See~ service and food are both their priorities.
When I urged them to make it faster. With an apologetic face, they explained, because they prepared according to the orders accept. So, you might need to wait longer especially during the dinner time which start 7.30pm- 9.00pm.

Harlo!! Here is a review from a student of UTAR kampar here. If you wander why I start off with such sentence, it is because most of the patrons here are UTARIAN or KTARian.

Let me make it clearer. Most of the eateries in Newtown, Kampar are occupied with uni students who studying here. And Kampar here divided into Newtown and OLdtown.(There's how people always referring here.)

Went there after lunch on 7th December, 2013. Place order from the counter there, you will be shown with the menu like this.

Please notice that I visited on the date above, cause I heard that they will change their menu 2 days later and you get to choose more!

Not a coffee person, I never order coffee here, but since they keep promote, then I think its worth for coffee lover to savour =)

All the Rm5.90 Meal crepe are delicious! Except the chicken sausage one. A real plain common chicken sausage. Otherwise, people who have small stomach can fill with Meal crepe. Prefer for those who on diet or gym junkie who really control their meal. (perfect for gym junkies cause they need moderate size of protein)

Not too much calories intake. (From my observation. =P) YUmmy. (no need to stand tastelss food), and you won't feel guilty for eating them.

a plain crepe type, really for student who can't afford like us lo~~ No la, I always order the Rm3.90 banana chocolate . The strawberry chocolate......you have to bear the sourness. Their strawberries come from cameron HIghland according to John, the boss there.

Each of the custard pudding, chocolate cake, cheese cake cost Rm3, not bad!

SO after you place and pay for your order, you will be given a number like this.Waiting time really depend it can be 5 mins - 20 mins. I wait for like 15 mins today.

2 banana chocolate crepe for my friend and me! The crepe is not the crispy type but a soft one.

after I removed the wrapping paper, still photogenic!

Operation hour: 1.00pm - 11.30pm daily.
Closed on every alternate Wednesday. (Cause there will be Pasar Malam on Wednesday)

Hope my review is helpful to you! Do drop me comment if you think I need to elaborate more on anything. Each of your comment will help to improve me! And follow me if you think you like me.(LOL) I mean my review. Thanks!

Categories : French | Café | Sweets/Snack

Brut is a French and Italian cafe, perfect for high tea, light snacks. It located in Kampar, New town. What I could say that it is real pleasing, I really look forward everytime I visit there. I think you should visit there too! But beware it open from 1.30pm. or 2.30pm -10.30pm. (depend on which day ) . The exterior of Brut from outside(looking from carpark there) is as simple as apple store, just written Brut on a plain white wall. When I first look at it, it doesn't look like a eater to me. tongue

[VDO:8]

This is the video of how the Brut's boss prepare the crepe suzette. And I have give you the hint, its only available when boss is around. I don't know why the video is not working. You can visit there to view them.

how the Brut's boss prepare crepe suzette.

The finish look of crepe suzette, looking plain, but you should try at least once in a lifetime. Else, you need to pay around 40 Dollar for this in French. LOL. Its only Rm 18.90 for 3 pax!
Creze suzette

That's why I like Brut, totally worth your penny =)
Orangy brownie, I would say it is tastier than crepe suzette!

Orangy brownie, I would say it is tastier than crepe suzette!

Brownie Rm6.90. Much more better than secret recipe's. Its texture is just nice, not too hard. The nut give a munchy-crunchy texture. and its orang-y flavour, with a light hint of sweet, totally won my heart. I think it will melts any sweet tooth also.
Belgian waffle Rm5.90

Belgian waffle Rm5.90

It is different from the usual waffle I tried at the roadside stall, it is extraordinary crunchy. And the waffle is not that sweet, so I recommend you to pair it with strawberry ice-cream to top up the sweetness.

For those who don't enjoy neutral sweet, there you should try this. =)
Peanuberries Rm5.90

I don't get to eat this penubearries, no comment.
Aglio e Alio Rm8.90

This is also the unusual one,not with prawn or clams, but bacon. Every pasta here come with bacon.
Pomodoro

Slightly better than what I cook at home.I wouldn't come for this lo.

Don't know whether you found pancake here or not. The pancake is something to die for! The yellow gravy consist a bit of cheese-y hint.

If you really get the chance to visit there from me here, come back to comment here what would you like to share or comment. Sharing is caring =)

Remember, not only Hong Kong has a very drooling Chu Cheong Fen, our Malaysia, we also have our own version of Chu Cheong Fen, and I love eating them!!!

I am talking about Chu Cheong Fen from Teluk Intan.I dont know whether they have a legitimate name for this, but both my parents come from Teluk Intan and we have been eating this for 15 years, we simply call them 安顺猪肠粉, Anson Chu Cheong Fen.

there is one of the very famous stall call liao Kei, but I am going to introduce another restaurant that sell this too! As I am writing here, I just tried theirs 2 times only,

and the things I love about them is the ambience of their restaurant, complete with air-cond, and sell Tong Shui too!

okay

okay

this is Curry Chicken Chu Cheong Fan. it look appealing here, the curry was good, the chu cheong fen is nice, but then the curry chicken is bit of stale, it was not succulent or juicy as what I am expected, I guess because not much people order on this, so they just keep in the fridge for sometimes already.Well, this give you and indication that you may try this if there is a crowd there, hahaha. In the meanwhile, I hope the vendor will improve this too! Coz Curry Chicken Chu Cheong Fen is only available here! You cant find them elsewhere.

plus point is their service is good!

here come the spotlight of all foods recommended here!
yes, they serve this hot!

yes, they serve this hot!

安顺猪肠粉! An Shun Chu Cheong Fen. It taste salty, but I still dont know what is the black things inside, but trust me, its delicious! Though their Chu Cheong Fen is not as captivating, (their Texture is not as smooth as liao Kei) and tasty then liao Kei, but I will choose to eat here, if I want to eat in a cozy ambience, and serve Hot!
I am not a friend of seafood

I am not a friend of seafood

Finally, this is their dry shrimp chu Cheong Fen, I have no comment on this, because I dont touch seafood (fish is exception).I dont it doesnt look attractive here, but cuba baru tahu! smiletongue

For drink, I ordered Red Bean Soup, I forgot to snap its pic, coz I am too hungry that time, normal. Price for Red Bean Soup, around Rm2-3. For the Chu Cheong Fen, it vary Rm3.5- 5 depending on which type you offer.
