Chicken Parmigiana RM 20
Chicken Parmigiana is the derived from an Italian Parmigiana. Breaded Chicken Breast covered with tomato neapolitan sauce and cheese atop.
Here in Eat@J, it is served with ham and garden salad. BF ate this, and it said it is average only.

Roasted Sesame Spagetti Rm 24
It look like carbonara, but it taste combination of cream and sesame. Something similar to western type of gan lao mian. Serving with the crunchy crispy chicken cutlet. This dishes taste better with fettuccine. So the noodle would be fettuccine by default. If you like to eat spagetti, yes, you can request to switch the noodle =D

Chocolate Orange Cheese Brownie Rm 10.50
Serving in a big square chunk of it. You might have to share it with your friends. Could be sweeter and more moist.

Literally Thai Syok (太爽)! Smile Jul 13, 2015
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Thai | Restaurant | Steamboat/Hotpot | Seafood

Thanks to Open Rice, I got the exlusive invitation for Food Tasting. Not only the food provide you the sensational experience, the funky grafitti impress me at the first glimpse, feel like this place is so young.

Thai Syok located at the basement level of Wisma Central, Jalan Ampang which is 2 minutes walk from KLCC. It is easily accessible by means of driving or public transport too! Scroll to the bottom of this post to getting there.

The Thai delicacies that we tried.

There are too many Thai restaurants that decorated in such a way that is fine-dining ambience, luxurious. Jeffred Tham, the managing director of Thai Syok Authentic Thai Street Food restaurant, aimed not only to provide a cozy, spacious envinronment. He also tried to bring the restaurant patrons to Thai.

The surronding here resemblance some tourism hotspot in Bangkok. Striking, Bold in colour. These features was found on the grafitti wall, the tableware, up to the cute colourful lowered tables and benches!!

(If you been to Bangkok or Hatyai, the tourism places there were so artistic, aesthetically looking. Some demure, and some other bold but all are colourful, you can found this cultural even in their toilet! No kidding)

Now, let's look at our main focus here, Shall we?

Those delicacies that we tried on the day weren't the typical Tom Yam soup , Pandan chicken, red rubies and jackfruit, mango sticky rice. However, trying these really an eye-opener to me!

Thai Tamarind Squid RM 19

Freshly squid were first fried before enrich with the authentic thai seasoning including Tamarind, sour sauce and some other thai herbs.

Looking appetizing. But that's not all, it wow you more the moment you savour it!

Hot & Sour Crispy Duck Salad RM21.50

This is litterally spicy. So you might need to order "Firefighter" (a beverage there) to cool you down. The crispy and crunchy duck salad, I thought would be hard, but surprisingly it come out with crispy outlayer, tender interior, and taste spicy hot when you savour it!

You rarely found this in any other Thai restaurant, so you should definitely ordered this while visitting here. Provided that you can withstand the spiciness lar.

Minced Chicken with Holy Basil & Steam rice RM 16

If you were a Thai food lover, you will know that Thai usually used mince pork to pair with steam rice. However, Thai Syok serves Pork Free food. I really amazed how resemblance of this dish with the Minced Pork. Up to this point, I trust that Thai Syok serving great food, and taking care of every little single details.

Fried Rice with blue crab meat

Even though this is the normal fried rice here. I found it quite comfortable having this with other spicy and sour Thai delicacies. Probably because I cant having too much spicy, and I was so hungry that time.Garnish ed with fried shallot and dried chillies, giving it extra thai fragrance.Whatever is it, I can tell even the fried rice is above average.

Coconut Pudding (Tako) 6 pieces for RM9

Since the food served were 2 people's portion, so as the Tako was serving 4 too. Amid all the spicy, Thai-style, sweet and sour food, this just coming at the right time. It is so refreshing! I like to eat creamy, milky stuff. But this Tako is just nice, if you have been trying those roadside Tako(which I think the coconut is not fresh), this is the Top notch I would said. I found it delighting to have jicama (or benkoang) that giving a crispy texture.

And not forgetting the drinks. Pandan and Lemongrass Tea is normal. The "Syok Experience" (RM 7) really Syok!! Having freshly squizee lime, sprinter, sugar to mix it all. Oh yea, please stir it before you drink it.

Also, you get to borrow umbrella with Rm 10 deposit. So considerate , kan? Thanks to my partner-in-crime, Ivy Liew for having this together!!!

Oh yea, this restaurant welcome Muslim friends too!

"We only picked Halal certified chicken and drygoods,

brand new kitchen utensils and equipment

to ensure it's not storing any halal item. "

taken from Thai Syok Facebook Page.

Foods that I wish to try in the future

1. Tom Yam chicken soup

2. King Rama with Fried Rice. (serving only in Thai Syok)

3. Fire-fighter

Affordable and Delicious!! Smile Nov 28, 2016

Categories : Western variety | Café | Pizza/Pasta | Steaks / Chops

The first question that bump into my mind when I saw the name of the shop is that

Why the name 3G??

It actually stand for

Good Food

Good Quality

Good Service

3G Food Gallery is a western fusion restaurant that serve western cuisine like pasta, chop, asian fried, exotic hot pot and also their main special delicious large deep fried pork knuckle that you couldn't found anywhere!

Overall, I like the portion of food here is large enough that make people full and delicious.

Crispy Deep Fried Luzon Pork Knuckle – RM48.90

The pork knuckle is tender inside and crispy outside. It is so sinfully delicious as it has the juicy fat remain inside, and the portion is so big! The standard serving size here is 1.5kg.

When I knew giant pork knuckle only cost Rm 48.90, I instantly felt this is so cheap! As we all know, a pork knuckle of this size normally cost around Rm 70 -80, but this superb pork knuckle here only cost less than Rm 50. Hmmm, interesting.

Whereas for the source of pork knuckle, it is first pre-booked by the lady boss from supplier, then she or her parents will go then choose some fresh and good pork knuckles every day.

The pork knuckle would be seasoned and simmer and keep in fridge for ready serve. Once any patron order it, then they will take it out simmer, and deep fried the pork knuckle, this explain the tenderness inside and cripsyness outside. OMG, I miss their pork knuckle as I am typing this…..

Crispy Spring Chicken – RM18.90

All the meats serve here are freshly selected daily. 3G Food Gallery didn’t rely on supplier to supply the meat, but go to hypermarket, or morning market to choose them daily. I guess this is one of their step to ensure Good Food as stated in one of their 3G.

Their spring chicken is soft and tender, It has certain herbs inside that make it so flavourful. People who like to try different kind of fried chicken should have try this!

Signature Wild Mushroom Soup – RM9.90

Unlike the ordinary mushroom soup that we had which is creamy, this wild mushroom soup here is dilute, yet it has crunchniness as more of it is solid mushroom pieces!! Although it’s not creamy, but it’s my favourite!! The bite of mushroom pieces in every inch of my mouth is really an indulgence.

It consist of 4 type of mushroom which is Shiitake Mushoroom, King Osyter Mushroom, Button Mushroom, and Abalone Mushroom.

Pasta Al’ Fungi (spicy / non-spicy) –RM14.90

Homemade Pork Meat Ball Bolognese – RM16.90

I like that the pork meat ball is nice to chew, combine with the tomato pasta, it make a hearty choice of lunch. And past Al Fungi is my favourite, it is oily and patron can opt for choice of spicy or non-spicy. Personally, spicy one taste better than non-spicy.

Grilled Salmon With Special Homemade Sauce – RM28.90

The grilled salmon here can be make better cause I like it to be a bit oily on the surface. Cutting into the section, the original salmon meat expose, it remain soft and tender inside. Sprinkle a few drops of lemon juice onto it….this is one of the dishes that serve on the table and gone in less than 5 mins after photo-taking.

Krap! Krap! Chicken Burger – RM16.90

Just like the name sound. The crunchiness when you bite the chicken burger , it is so appealing. Comes together with french fries and healthy choice of salad, make it a balanced diet.

Connie’s Special Pork Chop – RM27.90

Layered with melted cheese on top, the taste of the pork chop is very similar to bbq pork (char siew). Can you notice that the portion of the pork chop is so BIG??

Grilled Chicken Chop RM 18.90

The chicken chop is grilled to perfection and remain juicy. It is actually flavourful even without the sauce. However, you can still op for choices of mushroom, black pepper and BBQ sauce. Not forgetting the homemade mash potato. It has the crumble of some of vege like carrot in their sauce. MUST TRY!

Honey Grilled Pork Chop Burger Rm 19.90

Hot Pot (You can customize your ingredient and even add on with rice, ramen or vermicelli too. )

Seafood: RM18

Chicken: RM14

Pork: RM15

Vege: RM12

3G Food Gallery serve not only the 4 type of hot pots above. There are plenty of other hot pot inspired by their country’s specialty such as Indonesian Lemon Grass, Thai Style Tom Yam, Malaysian Curry and Italian Tomato.

Japanese Cheesy Milk Hot Pot

Among the 4 hot pots above, Japanese Cheesy Milk had caught my heart /stomach. It is really so delicious all the food reviewer keep asking for refill of the soup. It’s dilute texture with cheesy taste, combine with some other taste (milky, salty) make a perfect combination. Bear in mind that It’s not like the carbonara type of concentrated western cheesy.

Tempura Fish Nuggets (6pcs) – RM9.90

Promotion Okotoberfest

Breakfast special

Dinner special

There is also special promotion for UTAR student!

Environment

The location of the 3G Food Gallery is at the same row with CIMB bank once you turn into C180 in Cheras. And this is the outlook of the eatery.

Sat - Sun (Public Holiday)

11:30am - 10:30pm (10pm last call)

Til then, see you again!

Korean BBQ buffet 2: Ssikkek  Smile Sep 21, 2015
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Korean | Restaurant | Buffet | BBQ

It's been more an 3 years since I last blog about the same restaurant. I blog about the restaurant when it just opening , and perhaps because that I have the first one to blog, my this post has one of the highest in google search ranking. So I decided to re-visit the restaurant again, for another round of review. It's too worthy, who knows I might review it again.

It is a Korean BBQ buffet, with the tagline, EAT ALL YOU CAN!

Back to 2012, Ssikkek is among the most early restaurant that started with this KOrean BBQ buffet concept. While I was looking for this shop in kepong area, there were several other Korean BBQ buffet that use the same concept as well!

However, after 3 years, Ssikkek only become more and more popular. I even saw this restaurant was one of top 10 must eat in Kepong.

I actually not sure is there is a way to eat. We basically must put everything we want to eat on the grilled pan.

As most the meat as been seasoned, so you no need to worry about tasteless. In fact, it might be heavy in taste also.

Trust me, this is one of the economic cheap buffet in KL area. My plate, I have been refill things like this several times, until I was full. Like you don't want to eat anymore.

My favourite Kimchi soup. Taste like Tom yum, but taste like Kimchi too~~ but less spicy. which is good if you want to drink a lot of it.

Lunch Buffet

Adult Rm 19.90

Kid Rm 14.90

Dinner Buffet

Adult Rm 39.90

Kid Rm 34.90

only in dinner:

Pork Belly

Pork Shoulder

Seafood

Sushi

Ice-cream

Brocolli!

No GST and Service Charge.

There is also rice prepared, if you want grab some carbohydrate. But so far I was the only one who took the rice. I wanna eat with kimchi soup, =D

Grilled X Bonding I sweat awhile after several round of grilling also .

Last but not least, here is a simple video of the moment KOK family makan in Ssikkek here.
