Brut pleasuring visit Smile Dec 05, 2013

Categories : French | Café | Sweets/Snack

Brut is a French and Italian cafe, perfect for high tea, light snacks. It located in Kampar, New town. What I could say that it is real pleasing, I really look forward everytime I visit there. I think you should visit there too! But beware it open from 1.30pm. or 2.30pm -10.30pm. (depend on which day ) . The exterior of Brut from outside(looking from carpark there) is as simple as apple store, just written Brut on a plain white wall. When I first look at it, it doesn't look like a eater to me. tongue

[VDO:8]

This is the video of how the Brut's boss prepare the crepe suzette. And I have give you the hint, its only available when boss is around. I don't know why the video is not working. You can visit there to view them.

how the Brut's boss prepare crepe suzette.

The finish look of crepe suzette, looking plain, but you should try at least once in a lifetime. Else, you need to pay around 40 Dollar for this in French. LOL. Its only Rm 18.90 for 3 pax!

That's why I like Brut, totally worth your penny =)
Orangy brownie, I would say it is tastier than crepe suzette!

Brownie Rm6.90. Much more better than secret recipe's. Its texture is just nice, not too hard. The nut give a munchy-crunchy texture. and its orang-y flavour, with a light hint of sweet, totally won my heart. I think it will melts any sweet tooth also.
Belgian waffle Rm5.90

It is different from the usual waffle I tried at the roadside stall, it is extraordinary crunchy. And the waffle is not that sweet, so I recommend you to pair it with strawberry ice-cream to top up the sweetness.

For those who don't enjoy neutral sweet, there you should try this. =)
Peanuberries Rm5.90

I don't get to eat this penubearries, no comment.

This is also the unusual one,not with prawn or clams, but bacon. Every pasta here come with bacon.

Slightly better than what I cook at home.I wouldn't come for this lo.

Don't know whether you found pancake here or not. The pancake is something to die for! The yellow gravy consist a bit of cheese-y hint.

If you really get the chance to visit there from me here, come back to comment here what would you like to share or comment. Sharing is caring =)

Authentic Japanese Ramen Smile Aug 08, 2015

Visited on 23th July 2015

It was during THursday weeks ago, I insist to watch Paper Towns, so my boyfriend and me went for a movie date in Jaya SHopping Centre, as Jaya SHopping Centre has TGV Cinema, on which Maybank card user would enjoy the offer of buy 1 free 1 promotion!

Our movie was on 9.30pm, so we went here to have dinner. It has the ramen that is recommended by my housemate, and it rarely goes wrong when it comes from the mouth of the housemate.

SO here it is, we went to this Ramen eatery, Bari Uma, in Level 3. FYI, Level 3 is full of eateries.

NOt bad ler, got nice view overlooking the not-so-high skyscraper also.

And the interior design also.

Do you know that this Bari Uma is actually a franchise in Japanese? It's so famous in Japanese, and slowly spread to Singapore, Thailand before it came to Malaysia. It also open it's second franchise in Mitsui Outlet in KLIA Sepang recently.A sweet moment of us. I not sure if you are interest on this pic. But these are the muka of whom eating the food below. OK? so must show a bit also.

Ajitama-Uma RM 28

Ajitama meaning flavoured egg in Japanese. This ramen is a pork flavour shoyu (soy sauce) soup with thick slides of BBQ pork (chaoshu).

Honestly, it is expensive. It reminds me of how expensive the food in Japanese is. I tried to find the highlight of this ramen. But basically, every single ingredients here are the highlights!

BBQ pork- tender and juicy. I guess you can see from the pic also .

Ajitama-According to my bf, all the Ajitama in Japanese Ramen outlet should be above average, then only it can be the standard of Ramen. It doesnt surprise him that it is delicious, but he just can't stop praising them.

Shoyu Soup- my favourite!!! I don't have must experience of eating Ramen. Probably this is my 2nd time, but I could tell / I think it is delicious. Flavourful as usual. I litterally slurp the soup until to the last drop.

Noodles- Homemade one, slighly taste the difference, forgotten in which way.

Salmon Chaofan Rm 15.90

From the photo in menu, I thought it's a smoked salmon. also I thought the portion would be big, judging from the price. Mana tahu, this is the size (as compare to Asus Zenfone 5)

A food pornographic of salmon. My camera did a good job!

But it actually quite dry, as it served on hot stone bowl. Trust me, you won't be full with only such humble size. The main focus here is basically the Salmon, which also tasteless. LIke how all cooked salmon taste lar.

Even though it has 2 big chunks of salmon, but its basically just the salmon and the Japanese rice. Would not recommend this to you.And you can add on to your soup and noodle also!Bf has a soft spot for egg. So, I make a plan to make Ajitama for him. And hey, we use the Wifi here to surf youtube, looking on the making of Ajitama, and planned to buy egg in Cold Storage at Lower Ground floor. But we didn't buy in the end, cause we were going to cinema at 9.30pm.

Sevice charge 10%

GST 6%

our total bill of the dinner is Rm 51.20

expensive I would say, but it's on bf's treat, so not an issue! Hahaha.

Categories : Chinese | Stall / Warung | Bak Kut Teh

Hi!!! I have been mention this for a few times, but if you don't know, let me just say it again. I have been intern in KL for now. I stay in Seapark area, where you literally find a great number of good foods in every corner!

I have been trying this Bak Kut Teh on one random day, their Bak Kut Teh is savoury!! I really wish to share this with all of you. Not only people who live in Seapark should try, in fact, people who stay in Klang, the place where Bak Kut Teh is found famous should tried! You should have just freaking try them!

I personally approached them, offer to review them. Because it's just a loss not to share this! I feel glad and honoured to get to review this instead. A true good Bak Kut Teh meal, that worth your every penny/ringgit.

Sea Park Bak Kut Teh- One of the olden day road side stall, which has been cater the stomach of people around for the past 25 years. It's a family business, the quality were strictly control. It is still until now cooked by the same boss, whom started to prepare since afternoon. The picture shown above is the second generation of their family already.

Beverage

Dark : Herbal Tea RM 1.50

White: Fu Yuk Yi Mai (Tofu skin with barley) Rm 2.50

The drinks were fu chuk yi mai (beancurd sheet/tofu skin & barley) and herbal tea. Both were home-made. I have tried some fu chuk yi mai in other place, which were quite disappointed, because the texture is so rough, and just not pure. This fu chuk yi mai here is refined and feeling nourishing.

There are also selection of oily rice or just plain rice. Good news is both were the same price(Rm 1.50) .

Usually before the Bak Kut Teh is served, Yao zha guai would come first with the Bak Kut Teh Herbal soup. And here come my FIRST DELIGHT, a bowl of Bak Kut Teh only with the soup, savour to the max. I like the soup more than the Yao Zha Guai , ended up the soup always finish before the Yao Zha Guai. The Yao Zha Guai is a tad bit of sweet instead.

Bak Kut Teh Rm 15/ person

All the claypot food here is RM 15/ person. Not only the broth has a nice flavourful aroma. The main ingredients here, (pork meat, lean meat, pork rib , pork intestine) used is fresh and never frozen, but only put in water. And this explain why they never open on Monday, (fresh por were supplied every new day)

because on Monday, no pork were supplied. To ensure the best part of pork ribs is being used, they actually has a regular supplier, but they also went to Pasar pagi to buy from the pork seller, who actually get pork from the same suppliers. Because these pork seller actually get those pork at around 3-4am, hence all the good part were taken. As they only get the pork from the supplier around 7am, hence , in order to ensure a good pot of Bak Kut Teh and customer's satisfaction, they spent extra time, effort to buy some nice pork meat from pork seller.

Which indeed, I get to taste it a little different from others, in a way, I do not know how to explain. It is not stale, but fresh.

And they used shiitake mushroom instead the usual button mushroom or enoki mushroom, this is among one of the little details that make me love this Seapark Bak Kut Teh.

Pig Trotters with Vinegar 猪脚醋 Rm 15/ person

All the claypot food there, for a portion of one person, Rm 15 is quite a lot. You will be very full as soon as you finish them. So it's totally worth your penny! Above all, RM 15 is not only about the big portion, but the good ingredients, producing a delicious meal , I literally going back home full and wish to come back here again.

Actually, during the review day, this Pig Trotters with Vinegar (猪脚醋) give me the biggest surprise. Bak Kut Teh is not less delicious than this. But having to try Bak Kut Teh previously (This was my second time here), I already knew how the taste is. This PIg Trotters with Vinegar definitely is limelight for the meal!

I don't usually eat Pig Trotters with Vinegar, because the taste is just weird, either too sweet or too sour, or both. This one, the taste is heavily flavourful, YOU JUST HAVE TO TRY THIS, the taste is flavourful, so far the best Pig Trotters I ever tried. My partner who had this with me, said that the taste was smooth, and won't be choking. (很顺口,不会呛到)

酸辣菜 (“Sour & Spicy Vegetable")Rm 15/person

I perfect the first 2 dishes more than this. This one is ordinarily delicious.

Stir-Fried Cabbage with Garlic & Soysauce

Small- RM 8

Medium- RM 10

Large-RM 12

The first time when I ordered stir-fried vege , using Yam Mak (another type of vege ) is better. Stir-fry with garlic/garlic oil enhance the overall taste. The sauce is watery, soy-sauce-y , but the vegetable is crispy!

Overall, All the dishes were above the average, except that 酸辣菜is common for me! The boss were friendly, their service is good. Everyone should just come and try by yourself!

I am seriously getting excited while composing this. Let me start off with something negative, it cost us Rm 31.70 for the entire meal with 2 Teh Ais included.
FIrst time eating on table, not literally, but with a layer of aromatic banana leaf to serve it. Seriouslly, I don't find it any different eating on banana leaf or plate. But there is one moment, I accidentally poke the leaf, and a smell like mint, pleasantly waft into my nose.
Serving with 4 vegetarian dishes including yogurt cucumber salad, cabbage, koottu, and okra (lady's finger). Fried crackers knwon as Pa padum, and fried chicken (choose between fish or chicken) in huge portion.
This is for what Banana Leaf Rice, we also ordered Rasem and Moru (in Tamil) aka Lassi. Generally, all the dishes are heavily flavourful, it was not only tantalizing your taste bud, but your 5 senses. But none of this dishes are super spicy, so I can still go on with it, but teh ais is sickly sweet, recommend not to order sweet drink when you go with this, because it make me full at the half way of eating. Would rather drink plain water to pair with it, since I have rasem and moru already.
The moru is enchancing the appetite as ti taste sour, but rasem also sour what. The rasem unlike the typical one (where you can see through the bottom of the soup), the rasem here is thick, taste nice, but still prefer the typical one.

Eating in open air can be quite irritating, luckily there are air-conditional room to fit their patrons.
Verdict:
This restoran is quite desolate, but it's easily available on any road navigation apps. Damage RM 31.70 for this tantalizing gastronomical experience, their portion is huge it last 5 hours for me. Would still coming once in every blue moon!

Fresh, Flavourful & Delicate rice Smile Jan 02, 2016

Initially I thought the name of the restaurant is 芙蓉生鱼, but nope, it is the name mention above. 芙蓉生鱼 is to show that the original restaurant is from Seremban, and this is their 2nd franchise.

Overall, the foods were satisfying! We wish to come back for their porridge!

As the porridge was sold out when we ordered, we ordered Chinese meal instead. This fresh Yum Mak , seasoning with fried onion and their sauce. Satisfying.

This is steam snakehead fish, it known to has a speciall healing effect on the wound, surgery wound. Something worth to mention is that this fish has it's bone removed, so we just grabbed and munch!

Curry Fish , no head. we didn't choose head part, because we like to have more flesh.
Their curry is so fresh, so as their fish, can feel that the curry has been meticulously prepared , due to it's flavourful sensation, and not too spicy.

Last but not least, this is the interior of the shop.

Verdict:
LIterally fresh food served, efficient table waiting time. Wish to come back for their porridge
