Edamame Smile Sep 29, 2013   (Related Review)

The edamame serves as an excellent appetizer and also snack after the meal. It's especially nice during the times when we are waiting for the food to be served while chatting along. The beans were meaty and delicious. The slightly salted exterior provides extra taste to the beans. The beans were served steamed so it's slightly hot. It's great with beer too if there's any.

Pocket Mouse Smile Sep 29, 2013   (Related Review)

Came by to Penang for a business trip and a friend brought me out for dinner. He recommended this restaurant, which is located talking distance, just behind Eastin Hotel. We ordered the Pocket Mouse as per his recommendations.

This dish is very cute as it really does resemble a mouse with sharp thorns, similar to a certain famous game character of a yellow electric mouse.

This dish is arrived first, and therefore it was our appetizer. It was quite a suitable appetizer as it is filled with lotus paste. The filling was sweet, flavourful but quite hot so I had to wait for it to cool down a little.

Basically quite a good appetizer and it could be eaten as a dessert as well and it costs RM5.50.

Spring Onion Ramen Smile Sep 29, 2013

I ordered the spring onion Ramen as it was among one of the recommended dish by the restaurant. To my surprise, it was served with some smooth peanut sauce which it is optional to be mixed into the noodles. I liked the noodles as although it was a little soft, it somehow managed to retain its springiness.

After adding the peanut sauce and mixing up the noodles with the sauce, the dish was delicious. The zing from the peanut sauce and the unique flavour of the noodles made it very nice.

Although this dish does not have any meat in it, the dish has a unique unchopped deep fried spring onions which goes well with the noodles.

This dish costs RM5.50.

Nasi Lemak Ayam Smile Sep 29, 2013

Any nasi lemak lovers who haven't tried nasi lemak before Village Park's before is no true nasi lemak lover. This famous nasi lemak place is always full house. Every time that I pass by this place, it's always full.

My favourite part of the nasi lemak is the crispy, nicely marinated fried chicken and the sambal. I can never get enough of the sambal. It goes so well with the rice too. The egg is like a spicy defuser but the sambal is also not that hot in the first place but more of a mouth-watering, savoury sauce for the rice and chicken. 2 thumbs up!

Mua Chi Smile Sep 29, 2013

The people in Penang One boast that their ingredients are all fully imported from Penang, EVERYDAY. And this is no exception for the mua chi flour and sugared crushed peanuts. The texture of the mua chi is very soft, moist and tender without the stuck-in-your-teeth part, a part which I'm thankful for. The peanuts were nicely roasted and smelt good too. I would love it to be sweeter though as the sugar is not enough.
