Restoran Tauge Ayam Lou Wong  Smile Nov 02, 2015

We went to Penang for an event so we stopped by Ipoh for the famous tauge chicken rice. We ordered half a white steamed chicken (RM 29.68) that was so soft and silky. I finished every morsel of the chicken because it was so delicious.

Ipoh is well known for bean sprouts (RM 6.36) that are fat and fresh. I ate every single bean sprout. I always like the bean sprouts in Ipoh.

Then, we also ordered the mixed fish balls (RM 10.60) which were big and bouncy.

The Fried Char Siew (RM 10.60) was quite ok and crispy. I cannot give a fair review on char siew because I am not a fan of pork.

The Hor Fun Soup (RM 2.12) was silky smooth as any Ipoh hor fun.

Every plate of chicken rice costs RM 2.12.

The Gold Plum drink cost about RM 2.

Ah Mui Bak Kut Teh  Smile Feb 04, 2014

Categories : Chinese | Food court | Bak Kut Teh

It was my first time coming to Teluk Intan. According to my friend, Teluk Intan is very famous for Fish Head. So today our entire brunch table was kind of full of fish cooked in salty spicy gravy.

The fish head claypot was amazing. The sauce was very thick and a hint of spiciness.

The fish meat was quite spicy and the best thing is not as salty as the other one I had. Quite ok but I am not a fan of fish meat.

The bean sprouts were fat and fresh, very like those Ipoh is famous for and very unlike those we buy from KL malls.

The Bah Kut Teh was just nice, not too salty and quite tasty. The Pig Organs (Stomach) was quite tasty too. The best part is the crispy Yu Char Koay dipped in the Bah Kut Teh a few seconds and the outcome was awesome.

The spicy prawns was quite delicious too though a bit oily. It was cooked with a lot of onions.

The overall price during Chinese New Year was RM 206 which was quite pricey for eating at a non a/c food court at the medan selera. It seems that all chinese places overcharge during the new year.
