San Nae Deul @ Oasis  Smile Aug 16, 2014

Categories : Korean | Restaurant | BBQ

It was the first time for my parents to come to Oasis. I brought them here after being introduced to this wonderful place by my friend. After searching for a cafe, finally I decided on San Nae Deul which is located above Asa Bistro.

Dad ordered the Seafood Tofu Soup. The portion was too small.

The rice for the bibimbap is white instead of purple like what I had at One Subang. The ingredients were quite tasty. I still prefer the purple rice.

The BBQ thinly sliced pork was so tasty when barbequed. The aroma is so fragrant and tasty. Incredible. I never liked pork but this is the best I have ever eaten. It was tasty to be eaten with raw garlic and also the BBQ sauce.

The side dishes were amazing and most importantly, refillable. My dad finished 2 plates of kimchi and bean sprouts. I especially liked the cold omelette with small pieces of seaweed wrapped inside. So I ordered 2 plates of those. We love the boiled potatoes cooked with kimchi-type of sauce. The french beans were very fresh and one can still feel the crisp and rawness.

We had hot buckwheat tea which was delicious and fragrant.

There was quite a crowd here too. Since the restaurant was located upstairs, we could see the beautiful scenery outside that has a lot of lights. Very good ambience for family and also friends' outings.

Frisky Goat Smile Aug 16, 2014

My UKM AIESECers had a reunion here on 9 August. We even were joined by our friend from Singapore.

By the time I reached there, everyone was there. It was difficult to get a seat here.

My friend ordered the Masala tea which looked very nice.

I ordered the Cappucino (RM 10) which was quite tasty but the pattern on the froth was not made properly.

I also ordered the Frisky Goat Baked Eggs (RM 18.50) which was the star of the bakery cafe. I really loved the runny yolk that was still runny even though it was baked. There were ham, beef bacon, cherry tomatoes and spiced sausages inside, mixed together with runny eggs. I love the eggs which was so tasty and tasted like egg heaven to me. When dipped with Frisky Goat's toast, it was so tasty.

The fried mushrooms were not bad when dipped in some sauce.

I am definitely making a comeback here to try the other dishes  here.

Taiping Ho Chiak Smile Aug 16, 2014   (Related Review)

I wondered why they name this place Taiping when they sell nyonya food. We stumbled upon it together with my colleague at 9 pm. When I found out about this place, it was a Nyonya food heaven. So I had a goal to bring one of my hangout group of colleagues there for a birthday lunch.

We ordered the 4-pax set which came with any 3 dishes chosen from a list. We ordered my favourite sambal baby sotong where the sotong is so tasty. The sauce is not spicy enough but very sweet.

We also had a bowl each of ABC soup. The soup is so sweet and tasty that the boss even gave us 2 bowls each. The carrots were cut into very small circle shapes which made it very appetising.

I love the sambal which is so tasty and original like Penang sambal.

We also ordered Sambal Kangkung which is not too oily and fresh.

We wanted to order the Ayam Ponteh but they ran out of it. So we opted for Kapitan Chicken. My colleague did not like it because it was not cooked the dry style like what people normally do. This was cooked with a lot of gravy like curry the way I like it.

The Jiu Hu Char was quite tasty and sweet enough. We ate it with fresh lettuce. But some of my colleagues said that there was some sand inside this dish.

Awesome Canteen  Smile Jul 29, 2014

Categories : Western variety | Café | Pizza/Pasta | Burgers / Sandwiches

I had always wanted to come here but somehow my friends did not want to come as they thought it was only serving things like burgers, sandwiches and spaghetti as written on te outside. Then, one day, my friend who also like me, wanted to come and stay so near yet did not have the time; finally decided to have a surprise lunch get-together. We came here with his laotian colleague.

The laotian lady is a very enthusiastic lady and she has a small tummy and ordered only a very small piece of Lemon Poppyseed cake (RM 6) with a Hazelnut black coffee. Later, she ordered the Apple Pie with a Vanilla Ice-cream on top which was very sinful and rich.

My friend ordered the grilled chicken with fried rice. The chicken breast was too hard for me as I prefer the tenderness of the chicken thigh or drumstick. Luckily the rice was not over oily like what people normally do outside. I felt that this was not that great though it is listed under chef's recommendation. It cost RM 26.

I ordered the latest lunch set which was just launched today. I ordered the grilled saba with white rice that also came with iced tea. I wanted to try the coffee which had a very beautiful aroma coming out of the machine and my nose can never resist this smell. The rice came in small portion and so did the fish. There is a small portion of fresh garden salad which I prefer compared to coleslaw. The sambal was also amazing.

My laotian friend like the meals and portions here so much so that she would come all the way from Nilai to this restaurant and bring her family over.

The food here is cooked in a very healthy way and as long as we do not eat the cakes and desserts, dining here is ensured to be a healthy experience and guiltless one indeed.

The price here is quite reasonable compared to chain restaurants and franchises. The healthy part is indeed a plus-point. I am definitely making a comeback.

Categories : Taiwanese | Restaurant | Noodles | BBQ

I came here for a company rally with my two colleagues.

I ordered the Lobak Rice set (RM 10.50) which was supposedly famous in this place. The sauce on the rice is very light and not strong and thick enough for me. Since I did not like pork especially the oily ones, I did not really like it that they placed pork on top of my rice, not that I could help it. I liked the braised soya tofu cooked Taiwan style and also the braised hard-boiled egg.

My friend ordered my favourite Taiwanese Mee Sua ala-carte because she was on a diet. The mee sua is quite delicious but the oysters were not fresh and big enough.

My other colleague ordered the Crispy Chicken Set which came with braised tofu and also egg. The fried chicken is not bad, very super crispy.

The Taiwanese food here is not bad and even quite reasonably priced.
