I was looking for a drink after watching Night at the Museum at MBO. I chanced upon this cafe due to 2nd Anniversary Promotion where selected drinks are given a promo of Buy 1 Free 1 for the price of drinks at RM 5.90.

I ordered the Potted Plant Choco (RM 5.90) which turned out to be very tasty. The chocolate was thick enough and the design of the plant in a pot concept is quite special. The 'plant' peppermint leaf could be eaten too!

Mum drank the Apple Black Tea as the free drink which is quite tasty and had a sourish taste.

The waitresses are all Filipinos and we felt like we were in Philippines.

Delicious Cafe Smile Jan 04, 2015

Categories : Multi-Cuisine | Café | Pizza/Pasta | Burgers / Sandwiches

My Arabian friend ordered the Macadaemia Cheese Cake as he was looking for a dessert and he had a sweet tooth. I am not a cheese cake lover so I just had a small spoon of it. I would rate it as very cheesy and something cheese lovers will like.

I ordered the BBQ Beef which is coincidentally cooked Iranian or Arabic style especially the tender beef which is sliced into smaller chunks instead of a giant slab like how people usually serve beef steak. I loved the spicy sauce too. The mashed potatoes that still had the chunkiness and not too overly smooth as though it is instant and cooked with a lot of fried shallots made it very fragrant and delicious. The result was an Iranian tasting potato which my friend testified to it. The pickled vegetables was also a bit towards the Arabian side. The whole dish is very tasty and worth the RM 27.90 price (estimated, as I do not have the receipt).

For drinks, there was a Buy 1 Free 1 alcohol promotion for Kronenborg, Carlsberg, Somerset Cider, Asahi. I ordered Somerset since I did not get the chance to drink this in the 2nd Jan New Year BBQ Party at my friend's place. We made a mistake because it is only Buy 1 Free 1 for the same item and not different items. Anyway, the kind Filipino waiter allowed us to bring the extra free one back home!

Starbucks Christmas Frappucino  Smile Jan 04, 2015

We were both waiting for a family shopping for the baby so the meeting place was Starbucks. I ordered the Peppermint Mocha Frappucino, which to me, was quite chocolatey and to my liking. Somehow, drinking mocha reminded me of my beloved friend who loves mocha like crazy so much so that is the only coffee drink he buys whenever we used to go our for coffee.

My companion ordered the Christmas Cookie Frappucino which I think beats mine. For the first time in my life, I find myself liking a cookie drink as I always find cookie flavoured items too sweet for my tooth.

Basil Pasta (Risotto, Affogato) Smile Dec 02, 2014

Categories : Italian | Restaurant | Pizza/Pasta

I decided to go Italian today. We were making a few rounds around Kuchai area looking for something special to make my day better especially since I have been eating at the canteen for a week, for lunch and dinner!

I came here because I have wanted to try Affogato (RM 9.90) for so long ever since I saw it on the menu during my first visit. The Affogato is actually a small shot of espresso type of coffee served with 2 scoops of vanilla ice-cream. Though the picture looks pretty, the taste is just so-so. We ended up spilling most of the coffee when trying to pour over the ice-cream.

I ordered the Macadaemia Latte (RM 9.90) with high expectation but was a little disappointed because there was no design on the foam. The taste is quite tasty and the smell very fragrant.

The best meal of the day is the Hand-made Orecchiette and Smoked Duck Breast (RM 18.90) which are actually ear-shaped pasta sauteed with Black Truffle Paste served with grilled smoke duck, mushroom trio and seasonal vegetables. This pasta is so tasty and the burst of flavours were superb. I kept spooning every mouthful and every bite is simply amazing.

The Saffron Risotto ala Milanese (RM 38.90) with miso glazed cod fish is one of the best risottos I have ever eaten. The risotto is very cheesy whereas the saffron has completely been absorbed into the rice, causing it to an explosion of flavours, that is very strong and does justice to the soul. The small tiny pieces of asparagus cooked together with a few bits of fine green peasnd basil sauce a lent some vegetarian flavour to the risotto.

I realized that this restaurant likes to use a lot of different spices and sauces for everything they cook, which is exactly like how I like to do my cooking.

I always come here vowing to return here again due to the extensive menu and the most delicious food at an affordable price.
We went back with 2 bottles of Iced Mocha and also Iced Peach Tea for RM 9.90 each. The tea is just normal, not very unique for such a high price.

The Street Cafe - Jajang Noodles Smile Nov 23, 2014

Categories : Korean | Restaurant | Noodles | Private Party

I went to Sunway Pyramid to have a new makeover of turning my hair auburn as I always wanted since young and finally found the courage to do it, especially since I am working in corporate field. I finally found a slightly more reasonable place called APT at Asian Avenue which charges RM 597 for Coloring+Perming+Treatment. After that, my friend joined me for dinner at Asian Avenue. Every time I come to Asian Avenue or Pyramid for that matter, I always end up eating at The Street Cafe or Ko Hyang as the price is very reasonable.

This time round I tried the Jajang Noodles (RM 12.90) which surprised me with its incredible sauce. The sauce is so thick and nicely covers the whitish noodles mixed with chicken, corns and shredded cucumber. The noodles is simply amazing that I finished every bit of it.

The side dish is also tasty coming with kimchi, and the best is the cabbage and shredded carrots with Japanese zucchini salad.

The cold green tea costs RM 2.90.

After service charge, the whole meal cost RM 16.60 with 5% Service Charge.

The best time to come here is when you feel super hungry as they cook the food really fast.
