Chocolate Swiss Roll Smile Sep 17, 2013

Seems that decorative swiss rolls are a fad these days, coming all the way from Korea. Mika Premium Gift Shop offers these cute swiss rolls that tastes pretty good as well. I was given a pack by a colleague, even the plastic bag was fancy.

Open for a little love message, it says.

From the looks of it, the swiss roll has patches that resembles a cow skin. Very creative indeed. The swiss roll itself was fluffy and full of chocolate flavour. Definitely recommended, especially for gifts to friends.

American Brownie Smile Sep 16, 2013   (Related Review)

I like the American Brownie from Secret Recipe simply because it tasted very much like the brownie my neighbour used to make when I was younger. The chocolate paste used was very chocolate-y, and it wasn't too sweet. It would be nice to have some vanilla ice-cream alongside it, like al a mode style, but since it was a cake for the office staff birthday, we had to make do without.

Chocolate Cake Smile Sep 16, 2013   (Related Review)

The chocolate cake in Secret Recipe is quite nice. The chocolate used seemed to be of high quality, and had a melt-in-the-mouth quality to it. The cake is dusted with chocolate powder, and adorn with some chocolate drops. I like the fact that the chocolate in the cake is bittersweet, so that there is no stodgy feeling while eating it. Definitely recommended, especially for chocolate lovers.

Strawberry Yogurt Cheesecake Smile Sep 16, 2013

I was asked by my boss to buy a couple of cakes for the office's monthly birthday. So I went to Secret Recipe in Giant Hypermarket to get some cakes. I have never tried the strawberry yogurt cheesecake before, so I decided to get that. The strawberry topping was a little runny, so while transporting it back to the office, it run off the sides. The strawberry topping was quite sour, but it was a good complement to the sweet cake. Layered and creamed, the cake was quite delicious.

Hong Kong Milk Tea Smile Sep 16, 2013   (Related Review)

I didn't know what to order to drink, and the affable waitress suggested that I try their signature Hong Kong Milk Tea. I agreed, and the drink came almost immediately. My first sip tasted wonderful. It was definitely very authentic Hong Kong milk tea. The sweetness was just enough without being overwhelming, and the milk plus tea taste just right. Priced at RM5.50 a glass, it was well worth the amount paid.
