Two Flavour Chicken Smile Sep 25, 2013   (Related Review)

The two flavour chicken is essentially a whole roast chicken with chunks of deep fried boneless chicken with salted egg yolks adorning the sides. The roast chicken so tender and juicy, though not mind-blowing. The quality is as expected from an upper class Chinese restaurant. The deep fried boneless chicken with salted egg yolks was definitely the highlight. The piece of chicken, presumably from the thigh, was deep fried to golden perfection together with the salted egg yolks. It tasted both salty and sweet at the same time. The boneless bit definitely helps. Each mouthful was very nice. Definitely recommended.

A couple of weeks ago, boss told us to go to Summer Palace Putrajaya Marriot Hotel to do some food tasting in anticipation of the coming annual dinner. Summer Palace was one of the shortlisted restaurant for the annual dinner. Obviously we were very happy to become the 'guinea pigs'. It took us quite a while to reach, as the place wasn't very easy to find. The hotel parking was also not very friendly. Anyways, our dish of braised seafood soup with dried seafood came. It was akin to the texture of shark's fin soup, but without the shark's fin, as the company is against having that. The seafood soup was filled with real crab meat, some chicken bits, slices of sea cucumber, and sliced mushrooms. It was a bit salty, but still very acceptable. Add in some vinegar, and you're good to go.

Wan Tan Mee Soup OK Sep 24, 2013
Categories : Chinese | Kopitiam

Since I have tried the dry wan tan mee here before, and they add in curry sauce which was quite nice, I wanted to try their soup version. I ordered one, and it came in a jiffy. The noodle was cooked a bit too long, making it slightly soft, but still OK. The soup has quite a bit of MSG, but that it quite expected. There were some slices of char siew in it, and some meat balls as well. Slightly salty and priced at RM5, it was a decent price to pay for lunch.

Pork Soup Smile Sep 24, 2013   (Related Review)

As part of the pork noodle set, a small bowl filled to the brim was also given. The soup was quite tasty, though with a very heavy pork flavour. Some people may not be able to take it though. There were lots of minced meat, pork slices, pork liver as well as a few slices of pork kidney in it. Definitely need to be adventurous when consuming this, as most pork noodle stalls may not have these selection. Quite recommended!

Pork Noodles Smile Sep 24, 2013

The pork noodles here has some good feedback, especially from the locals in SS3. Wifey and I decided to pop by to Hup Soon Restaurant to see what they had to offer. Wifey ordered the dry pork mee hoon. The mee hoon was done well, not too soft. There were a generous amount of salty minced meat on top, together with some slices of char siew and fish cakes. The char siew was a bit dry, and the fish cakes so-so. Priced at RM5, it was well worth the amount paid.
