Nasi Lemak Smile Sep 21, 2013

I didn't know that Shaftbury Square in Cyberjaya also housed a Serai Restaurant. When wifey and I were there to visit some friends, they brought us to this restaurant, citing the deliciousness of their fare. We were very much in agreement, as we had become loyal customers of their Empire and Paradigm Mall branch. I ordered the spaghetti vongole, which was one of my favourite type of pasta. I hope that they do not disappoint with western fare, as I have only had local fare in Serai. The vongole came quite quick. With my first mouthful, I thought that it was a bit dry, but the noodles were done well, quite al dente. Subsequent mouthfuls proved to be better. The clams that were used were really fresh, tender and juicy. It was slightly salty, and rather spicy, but I liked it all the same. At a price tag of RM23, it doesn't come cheap, but definitely recommended.

Hot Lemongrass Tea Smile Sep 21, 2013   (Related Review)

I was wondering what to drink in Serai, when I saw that they offer lemongrass tea. I have always had a liking for lemongrass, hence decided to order that. It was freezing cold in the restaurant, so I opted for the hot lemongrass tea. The tea taste was very apparent, with a good dose of lemongrass in it. There was a stalk of lemongrass being put in as a stirrer. Not too sweet, it was just nice. Priced at RM6.50, it was slightly pricey, but well worth the amount paid.

Berry Pavlova Smile Sep 21, 2013   (Related Review)

Not one to say no to dessert, I was pleasantly surprised when wifey brought back a slice of berry pavlova, Yummeh! I had this before, and I was looking forward to having it again. It looked slightly lopsided though, but it didn't interfere with the taste. Meringue-like melt-in-your-mouth texture, just as I remembered. Sweet and delectable, it was very delicious. The strawberries gave it a sourish taste, which went very well with the entire cake. Priced at RM14.80, it was definitely well worth the amount paid.

Chocolate Cake OK Sep 20, 2013   (Related Review)

The chocolate cake in Serai looked pretty promising. The dark brown colour seemed to indicate that it is made from bitter chocolate. I thought that the cake was a bit dry. The chocolate topping was also a bit hard. It was sweet, but not overly so. Quite ordinary, nothing to shout about. Definitely need a cup of tea to wash this down. Priced at RM14.80, it was a decent amount to pay.

Tiramisu Smile Sep 20, 2013   (Related Review)

I always like a good tiramisu cake. To me, it is one of life’s enjoyments to find a good piece of tiramisu. I have found it in Alexis, and I was looking forward to having the tiramisu in Serai, as they look pretty similar. The caramelised almonds were very nice, crunchy and nutty. The layers of cake are moist and fluffy. I couldn’t detect any alcohol taste, which was a slight letdown. Overall quite nice, though I would still go for Alexis if I am in Bangsar area.
