Wu Kok OK Jul 02, 2013   (Related Review)

The past couple of times when I dined in Pun Chun Noodle House, I didn't notice that they served wu kok, which is essentially a ball of deep-fried yam with cha siew filling in it. I saw it this time, and didn't waste time to order one to try. The yam with batter was very light and delectable, almost a melt-in-your-mouth sensation. The char siew filling was just so-so actually, as I felt the one served in Bidor was way better. Priced at RM1.60 a ball, it was a reasonable amount to pay.

Fried Fish Dumpling Smile Sep 22, 2013   (Related Review)

Since wifey wasn't going to order a main, she ordered two portions of fried fish dumpling as she always prefers something with mouth-crunch. The order came in a jiffy, and it was piping hot. We had to wait a bit before consuming, else tongues will be burnt. They used the sui kow skin to wrap a good helping of fish paste into it, and fried it to golden perfection. Every piece was crunchy and very juicy. Priced at RM5 for three pieces, it was well worth the amount paid.

Pistachio Creme Brulee Smile Sep 05, 2013

After a light dinner, wifey and I headed over to Serai for some dessert. Many people were raving about their cakes and sweets, so wifey decided we must give it a try. The first item we ordered was the pistachio creme brulee, which was absolutely, absolutely delicious. The presentation was very pleasing to the eyes. A cup of rich custard, full of egg-y flavour hidden underneath a layer of burned sugar with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream on a bed of peanuts. There were some raspberry sauce drizzled in between, but the amount was so little that it pretty much was for decoration only.

Thai Prawn Cakes Smile Jul 27, 2013   (Related Review)

The Thai Prawn Cakes looked quite appealing from the menu, hence we decided to order that. It was definitely a good choice, as the prawn cakes were loaded with ingredients. The prawn taste was very apparent, and it was fried till golden perfection. There were some onions and spices in it as well. Juicy and succulent, it made a very good complement to the meal. I can even have it without rice, accompaniment by some beer. Priced at RM15 for a small order, it was definitely well worth the amount paid.

Spare Ribs Smile Jun 30, 2013   (Related Review)

The highlight of the meal was the spare ribs. It came last, but it was worth the wait. When served, the aroma of caramelised meat permeated the air around us, and by the smell alone, it was mouth-watering. The ribs were done very well, and the meal literally fell from the bones. Served piping hot on a bed of lettuce, the meat was aplenty, more than the bone. There were pieces of meat with soft bones, and those were super crunchy and juicy. Definitely thumbs-up. Too bad this place is so far from my office, hence I am unable to visit often.
