Herbal Tea OK Sep 22, 2013   (Related Review)

As the pig stomach pepper soup can be quite heaty to the body, I decided to order a glass of herbal tea, or pak chee chou as the waitress calls it, in lieu of my carbonated Coca-Cola. The herbal tea was so-so, slightly diluted and doesn’t have much ice. I guess if there were more ice added, the herbal tea would have no taste at all. Priced at RM1.30 per glass, it was a decent amount to pay.

Fried Koay Teow Mee Smile Sep 22, 2013   (Related Review)

My colleague was hankering for some fried koay teow. So she ordered, but when the dish came, it was fried koay teow mee. They must have mixed up some orders, but nevertheless, we still acceptable it and paid. The noodles were fried full of wok hei. Lots of ingredients such as prawns, cockles, Chinese sausage, beansprouts, eggs and gau choy. Not too salty, and just a bit wet, the way I like it. Priced at RM5 a plate, it was a decent amount to pay for lunch.

Pig Stomach Pepper Soup Smile Sep 22, 2013

Some colleagues suggested that we go to Weng Soon Jaya for lunch. I immediately agreed, as I am a fan of the stall that serves pig stomach pepper soup there. The no-frills soup plus white rice is very welcomed, especially on a dreary raining day. I had to queue up a bit as it is self service. Their soup is so good that people don’t mind queuing up for ages just to get some soup. The pig stomach pepper soup is piping hot, very delectable. Slightly spicy and salty, it goes very well with the white rice. The ingredients include pig

stomach, slices of pork, peanuts and the optional chicken feet. Priced at RM6 a set, it was well worth the amount paid.

Cold Lemongrass Tea Smile Sep 22, 2013   (Related Review)

The waiter recommended my friend to try their lemongrass tea. I seconded the waiter, and my friend decided to take our word for it. The cold lemon tea in Serai Restaurant is quite nice, based on my experience. The tea taste was very apparent, just like how a good mamak stall would make it. A slight taste of lemongrass it in, not too overwhelming, but just nice enough to spice up the tea. The ice diluted it some, but still a bery acceptable drink. Not too sweet, just right. Priced at RM7.50, it was well worth the amount paid.

Serai Blended Smile Sep 21, 2013   (Related Review)

The drink sounds rather unappetising. However, serai really wasn' the main ingredient. Lychee was. The awesome taste comes from blended lychees, tinned I believe. Pieces of lychees were still floating in the drink, with a tinge of lemongrass tsate. The unique combination is quite compatible, and very delicious. Not too sweet, it was very cleansing to the palate. There was a whole piece of lychee adorning the top, which was a nice touch. Piriced at RM10.50, it was well worth the amount paid.
