Pork Meen Seen Soup OK Jul 01, 2013   (Related Review)

Categories : Singaporean | Chinese | Restaurant

Another colleague ordered the pork meen seen soup, which looked rather oily to me. The portion was also quite small, not good enough for big eaters like me. There were quite a bit of ingridients in it, namely minced pork, pork slices, pork liver, and some small intestines. The soup is quite flavourful, with all the porky goodness. Garnished with fried garlic oil and spring onions, the bowl of noodle cost RM5, which is slightly expensive given the small portion.

Mango Mille Crepe Cake OK Jul 01, 2013   (Related Review)

Wifey wanted to have some mille crepe cake while I was having my usual fix of pop egg milk tea, hence we decided to order a mango mille crepe cake to share. We got a table to ourselves, and it wasn't hard. Even though the shop was small, only about seven tables, there weren't many customers who dine in, instead they opt to take away. I am a fan of mille crepe cake, but I thought that the cakes in Ochado looked rather dry, hence never had the inclination to try.

The mango mille crepe cake is dry, as expected. The cake has quite a fragrant mango taste to it, but I don't think I will have it again, due to the dry-ness.

Mixed Rice OK Jun 30, 2013

Categories : Chinese | Kopitiam

Went to Weng Soon Jaya Restaurant in anticipation to have lotus root soup with rice the other day with a couple of colleagues. However, to our dismay, the stall seller said that they are not serving soup on that day, only porridge. So I decided to have some mixed rice instead. There was a wide variety of dishes to choose from. I took some fried egg with mixed vegetables, some belacan brinjal as well as sliced pork cooked in brown sauce. The meal costs me RM6.50, which I thought was pretty expensive as I did not take a lot of each dish. The dishes were just so-so, nothing special at all.

Ice Lemon Tea OK Jun 30, 2013   (Related Review)

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Noodles

Feeling the spiciness of my chilli pan mee, I decided to order an ice lemon tea to wash it down. The drink came very quick. However, it was quite bland. There is hardly any tea flavour in it. The only consolation is that they put in two large slices of real lemons, hence there is a slight lemon-y sour taste. Priced at RM3, it is acceptable, though it would be better if they could put more tea in the drink.

Deep-Fried Sotong OK Jun 30, 2013   (Related Review)

We wanted to order something crunchy, so we settled with the deep-fried sotong. I thought that the sotong was slightly overfried, which makes it almost too hard to chew as it was too crunchy. One scraped against the roof of my mouth and left a slight bruise. It was also quite salty, especially when dipped with the Thai chilli sauce that was served together. Overall, not very recommended.
