Monster In The Hauz, a new pork burger player in the market. They opened not too long ago, operational for about four months. Wifey and I chanced upon this place when we decided Tai Lei Loi Kei wasn't worth the long queue. Situated on the first floor, it would be quite easily missed. When we arrived, there were no patrons in sight.
The decoration was pretty sparse and simple.
On every table there were some bottles of chilli and tomato sauce, salt and pepper shaker, as well as a box of tissue for our messy gorging.
Since the place was ours for the time being, we decided to walk to see what was behind the closed doors. Apparently, this restaurant is a pet-friendly one, where one can bring their cats or dogs and dine. The pet area is separated by the doors, so for the patrons who were there for the food, they will not be bothered by the pets. I thought it was a nice concept. I would probably recommended this to friends who are pet-crazy and want to bring their beloved pooches everywhere. After a long while, which was surprising as we were the only customers there, our food came.
Wifey's Hawaiian Monster Burger. The portion was rather small. The patty was quite dry too. The only redeeming quality was that there is a slice of pineapple in the burger, which helps which the moistness. The fries were overly fried, and was tooth-breakingly crunchy.
My Crispy Bacon Monster Burger fared a bit better. Probably because I asked for an additional layer of fried egg in it. In actual fact, other than the creative dining experience with pets, there isn't much pull factor for patrons as the food is nothing to shout about.
