Smoked Salmon Salad Smile Sep 06, 2013   (Related Review)

The Smoked Salmon Salad is something really interesting due to their dressing. Selling at a fair price of RM 24, there is a big pile of young rocket, onions, cherry tomatoes, tossed in this amazing homemade raspberry vinaigrette. Something I love ordering whenever I visit. The salad dressing is superbly appetizing and delicious. One of the kind you hardly find it anywhere else. For those who are okay with the distinctive aroma of rocket leaves, this is a dish you must not missed.

Best Pork chop noodle  Smile Sep 03, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Taiwanese | Restaurant | Noodles

Taiwan is being well known to have many delicious snack and street food. Even simple minced meat rice, or the pork chop noodle would have you wanting to go back for more. Last week, I have been spending an ample time in Melaka, and I must post this up because this has been my all time favourite. Known to have authentic recipe from Taiwanese owner, their best selling pork chop noodle is by far the most amazing I’ve ever had.

Plain thick noodle, served with a slice of pork chop with some broth sauce and a sprinkle of spring onion. Somewhat different from the usual pork chop noodles serve in Malaysia

Noodle looks really plain and ordinary, but the taste of the noodle when stir with the broth sauce is divine with the fiery hot chili.

Noodle would look appetizing with lots of sauce. Also, the sauce is not too salty despite how it looked really black from the photo.

Noodle is served with complimentary soup. The soup is unique as it is not common boiled with chicken, or anchovies. They probably use pork bone or beef.

If you think it’s too plain, then additional pork chop is available in the menu. It is exactly the same pork chop serve with the pork chop noodle

Amazing Ika sugatayaki Smile Sep 01, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Seafood | Ramen/Udon/Soba

The Ika sugatayaki is a very simple dish that is easily grilled with very simple ingredients. The Ika sugatayaki this time around is probably the best Ika sugatayaki I have ever had in any sushi chains around. The squeeze of lemon really brought out and enhanced the flavor in the squid. The Ika sugatayaki was supposedly appetizer, but because we were so hungry, we really didn’t bother much with the sequence anymore.

40 minutes pork noodle Smile Aug 26, 2013

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Noodles

Having to wait 40 minutes for a bowl of noodle, I think it was a little over rated. But the thought came when I was waiting. But even after I finished my noodle, I really don’t see what‘s the big deal…However, I did crave for it after awhile. And from time to time, I always have the urge to return for another bowl. But the turning off part was when you had to wait for 40 minutes. Sometimes I kind of just try not to think about my craving and come out with something equally satisfying to fulfill my cravings. So what makes them so popular?

First and foremost, the soup was amazing. Secondly, the ingredients were fresh and served generously at an affordable price. There are ingredients like the pork meat, minced meat, pork intestine, and pork liver. And not to forget, a lot of fried lardons.

And the next impressive part that I’ve noticed is that every bowl is prepared individually, each cooked in a tiny pot on stove. I think that’s why we might have to wait a little longer.

Not to mention the generous amount of minced pork meats in the noodle which seriously is absolutely worth the money.

A small bowl cost RM 5.70 where else large bowl cost RM 6.50 each.

Also take note that parking bay can be quite a pain at this area, and as of whether or not if it is worth the waiting time, it is very subjected to each individual.

Peace and calm dinner OK Aug 21, 2013
Categories : Western variety | Café | BBQ

Old palace is Wine house serving an array of wine choices from Cabernet Sauvignon, to Merlot and Chardonay to Reisling. From smooth to creamy and low to high acidity. Apart from their great choices of wines, the signature pastas are somehow amazing as well.

The house wine was not too bad, and the ambience would probably be one of the great thing about this place. It is real cozy, and calm, with perfect lighting and soothing music.

Their signature pastas range from some seafood, meats and great sauces of white to read. I tried the Bacon Carbonara Pasta and the Aglio Olio Pasta. The sauce were amazing and the pasta has got a great texture as well.

For those who dislikes wine, they have something else as well. Non alcoholic beverages are also served.

This place is indeed a good place for simple dining, as well as a good wine tasting session with a few close friends.
