Categories : Korean | Restaurant | BBQ

Whenever visiting this place in a big group, don't forget to go for the Chicken Okonomi Yaki. This Japanese Pizza with lots of bonito shavings, nori flakes, and bbq sauce sells at a reasonable price of RM 16.90. And trust me when I say this, better have more than 3 pax to order this if this dish is add on dish. See the size of it next to my camera lense cap.

Korean Rice  Smile Aug 23, 2013   (Related Review)

When think of Korean rice, fist thing on everyone’s mind would be the Dol sot Bibimbab. Here, it comes with optional of either beef or chicken at RM 15.90. With lots of other ingredients like the cucumber, carrot, shallot, beansprout, mushroom and all, the mix would be real healthy for those watching the diet because there are many vegetables. I really like that very much.

Spicy food lover should not miss their famous Kimchi Jiggae which is fiery and deliciously spicy when boiling hot. Also comes with some few sides and white rice, this awesome soup sells at RM 15.90. It also comes with optional chicken or beef to cater to those whom aren’t comfortable with beef.

The side dishes are simple and delicately lovely at the same time.

Best Ginseng soup ever! Smile Aug 23, 2013

Categories : Korean | Restaurant | BBQ

Restoran Haeun Khon mainly serves Japanese, Chinese and Korean food. Honestly, all their food is not too bad and reasonable with pricing as well. The one located in Amcorp Mall being most popular especially among students around PJ area due to the convenient individual servings. I return for the Samgyetang (Korean Ginseng Chicken) because I love it so much. Ginseng chicken, being the Korean traditional healthy soup is amazing with the usage of only spring chicken and finally the patient boiling with herbs alongside glutinous rice, ginseng jujube, garlic etc. The Ginseng chicken soup is one of the few good ones around town and not to mention how reasonably priced, and portioned to cater to personal diners. Priced at RM 27 for a whole chicken and RM 17.90 for half chicken, if you are not a big eater, this is served with some side dishes.

I love the fact that the ingredients are not stingy at all. The whole ginseng root in the soup never fails to impress me every time.

Healthy shabu  Smile Aug 08, 2013

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Steamboat/Hotpot

Located at the end of Orange Atrium within the Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall and visibly taking a huge space opposite the Celcom Blue Cube center, the 798 Shabu Shabu is something comparatively analogous to the Sukiya Shabu Shabu . The Shabu-shabu provide buffet style lunch at Rm29.90+ and buffet dinner at RM39.90++.

The semi permeable ceiling roof allows ample sunlight into the restaurant while the glass panel ushers natural daylights into the neatly arranged seats.

Every seat comes with a solo pot with mini electrical induction cooker. There are four options to the choice of soups namely the miso, clear soup (which is actually chicken soup according to the staff), herbal soup and something with a slight kick of spice; the tomyam soup.

This is awesome for those who is particular about hygiene and repelling with the idea of sharing and eating from one common pot.

The choices of ingredients for shabu shabu here are considered extensively complete with varieties of plants, fungi, and assorted processed meat balls. Also available is assorted noodles and sauces.

The cleanliness is one impressive factor here. Unlike many shabu or steamboat places (especially buffet styles) this place is always clean and never messy.

Freshness in Edo Ichi Smile Aug 08, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Seafood | Ramen/Udon/Soba | Private Party

The ultimate goal in any restaurant is to satisfy dinners with either the dishes, the quality of the ingredients, the exotic choices of ingredients, the dining ambience or/and the great service at the restaurant. At the same time, Japanese restaurant seemed to have been living up to that reputation most of the time. Edo Ichi in Solaris Dutamas is one of the few to name that gives a wonderful dining experience. The restaurant has really dimmed lightings to provice amazingly calm and soothing dining experience. The design and layout of each table are as such whereby it creates a clandestine space of your own when enjoying the dishes.Upon seated, the staffs delicately places proper cutleries and hot towel for each person.

My favourite starter has to be the Horenso goma ae. This is a cold dish which of chilled spinach with sesame sauce and sprinkled with sesame seeds. The complex texture of crunchy and refreshing spinach that is at the same time chilled is one interesting juicy bite for starters.

There are also hot dishes that are amazing as starters. I tried the Chawamushi and assorted mushroom with garlic. Both were delicious and the later would be amazing for mushroom lovers.

I also tried the Baked Scallop which I would order again when I go back. In which I definitely would since I am recently in love with this place.

Moving to hot dishes, the Salmon ara tama jiru is this amazing and affordable bean paste soup with salmon fish head and stirred egg. Selling at only RM 10, enjoy plump and fresh salmon head and the calm texture of hot soup in the cooling ambience of the restaurant.

For the ladies that is always conscious with their figure and how much calorie intake or if it is fattening and what’s not, then I strongly recommend the Soft kani karaage to shake kawa. This salad topped with deep fried soft shell crab and salmon skin comes with three selections of salad dressings (goma dressing aka sesame sauce, yuzu dressing aka citron sauce, and wasabi dressing aka horse raddish sauce). The fried soft shell crab may not be the best to recommend for someone on a strict diet, but take note the ratio of the salad leaves served in this salad dish.

Apparently, their sushi choices are rather good as well. Sashimi lovers can try the Rainbow roll which comes as 8 pieces serving of sushi roll with salmon, tuna, crab stick, avocado and cucumber for RM 23.

Another sushi dish that impresses me a lot is the Volcano roll which is sushi roll with assorted fish and special mayo sauce, pilling up to a shape of volcano. Prior to serving, the sauce were burnt to create the volcano lava and enhancing the fragrant of egg in mayo sauce. And when digging into the core of the volcano, that is where you find the sushi rolls. This is sells at RM 23 for 8 pieces of sushi in it.

Also, I really love the Sushi set which was absolutely fantastic that night when I had it. It was really fresh and every slice came with the perfect thickness to accolade the palate.
