We went to Pavilion for our lunch and spotted this new Japanese restaurant spot. IchiZen Japanese Restaurant is located at Level 6 Tokyo Street offering few selections of set lunch which is quite good value and each set comes with complete steamed egg, salad, fruits, rice and miso soups. Some might feel the price is overpriced, but overall the restaurant in Pavilion area are mostly at this price range and some are even higher. Since salary is out, we won't mind paying for RM 30 for a set of salmon / saba set to try out the food here. The chawanmushi is smooth and silky best to have it while still hot.

Unagi Set

Salmon set with curry udon set

Saba Fish Set - Simple dish that is always my favourite. Delicious grilled mackerel served in generous portion. Fine and yummy texture.

Service was good here and we are fully satisfied.

We are invited to visit Chew Heong Fish Pot @ Kepong to try on
their new menu along with other foodies. We are presented with their newly
creation of Seafood Lego which is like a high tower stacked up with 3
layers. You can also choose to stack up more. The signature fish soups are
placed at the bottom and on the upper layer filled up with fresh seafoods -
scallops, prawns, crab, lala, and etc. When those item are cooked together, the
final taste of the fish soup will be extremely sweet with all those seafoods
layered on top.

Wonderfully assorted with different kinds of seafood. Fresh crab, squid, prawns, scallops mussels and lala. The sauce looks thicker because according to the chef, he mentioned this is to prevent it from being too dry as the steaming process would take some time.

Bottom
layer with fish head soup. You will be able to taste the soup with a hint of
sweetness because the top two layer which is full of seafood will keep on
dripping down to this broth. For seafood lover, you definitely enjoy this
delectable combination.

Chew Heong Fish Pot restaurant guarantees the freshness of the seafood. They have a very reliable and good supplier fresh delivery daily.

The signature steamed lala infused with strong aroma of the sliced ginger and garlic that is fried to perfection.

Fresh Chili Crab

Salted Egg soft shell crab.

Soft Shell Crab with Salted Egg Yolk Batter which is one of popular Chinese style crab cooking. Crispy and fragrant soft shell crab that you must tried it out!

Appetizing Pumpkin Sambal Prawn

Spicy and Sour Lime Steamed squid

Pork Rib with Jinjang Sauce. Special Jinjang sauce that is coated well in each pieces of pork rib. Tender and succulent meat that are absolutely irresistible

Addictive Nestum Mantis Prawn that is sweet and crispy in every bite

Another round of sumptuous meal

It's definitely a plus point for seafood lovers to savour so many seafood offerings here.

Do check out this family run restaurant should you be in the area of Kepong.

Restaurant TST & AT @ Setapak Smile Aug 30, 2015
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Seafood | Bak Kut Teh

We rarely can find a family dining Chinese restaurant in
Setapak area. I noticed there is a new opening restaurant at the same placed
where De Asian Café used to be there which has been closed down since July. Coincidence, the
owner of previous De Asian Cafe invited us to visit their newly opened Restaurant . They renamed this place
as Restaurant TST & AT. They have placed a bigger kitchen outside and expand the area to accommodate more seats at the outdoor space.

Mr. Ong greet us with warm welcome and as well as
the friendly staff who are still the same person working there giving us a big
smile. We used to be the regular customer here enjoying the nasi lemak and
coffee at their previous café especially my mum in law, so she know all the
staff here very well.

Restaurant TST & AT stands for “ Tin Siong Tin” & “Ah
Tau” (the wording I translate from Chinese word). It is simplifies in the alphabet that forms : TST & AT. Mr. Ong shared with me that he owns three restaurant and the main branch he initially set up is at the Klang branch. A.T is the bak
kut teh branch that are very popular and have a history of 8 years of establishment. Being a chef himself, he assured all the ingredients used are fresh and create his own recipes to give customer a pure Chinese comfort food. He combine both TST Seafood and AT Bak Kut Teh together since 2014 and get a very good feedback from customers that they can try more varieties in one restaurant. Diners get to experience awesome Chinese Culinary with both favourites of seafood and bak kut teh.

The restaurant was
merely a 5 minutes drive from where I live in. It was raining at this hour, so we park our car at the basement parking that charged us RM 2.20. The basement parking is quiet , so not advisable if you are driving alone. But it was raining quite heavy, so we have no choice but to park our car there and take up the staircase reaching directly to the Restaurant entrance. The interior is simple and you can choose to sit inside with air conditioning place or covered outdoor seats.

Clean and comfortable place to dine in with friends and family especially during weekends

Ample of space cater for big groups of people

Chinese specialties prepared with the finest and freshest seafood supplies. The seafood are deliver fresh daily and you can get to enjoy Bak Kut Teh from Morning until night time. Three choices of bak kut teh available here with Seafood Bak Kut Teh, Claypot Bak Kut Teh and Dry version of the Bak Kut TehSet meal for one person servings are also available here with reasonable priceSignatures dishes that are being recommended. Seafood such as crabs and fish are based on the market price. They also have " Pun Choi " ( big bowl feast with lots of seafood and meats) with early reservation needed. Usually Chinese love to have this for Chinese New Year. Perhaps I can consider this place to try it next year for our Chinese New Year celebration.

Chinese tea is a must when dining out with my family

You can expect a fast and efficient service here.

We kick start with the Claypot Bak Kut Teh (serving of two person). Strong and intense broth with fragrance of pork. It does have the natural sweetness of pork flavor .The broth is concentrated and the herbs taste is not overpowering. Generous portion of the tender pork served with mushroom and fu chok. Best to have it with lots of garlic and dark soy sauce along with a hot bowl of rice.

Next, we try the dry version of Bak Kut Teh served in the claypot. It has a tangier, sharper taste compared to the normal Bak Kut Teh. The dried chilli which seems like the "kung pou" taste helps to enhance the flavour of the bak kut teh. Slightly spicy along with the succulent pork meat.

Bitter gourd is always the best vegetables for healthy purpose. It has a good source of vitamins and minerals that your body needs. I love the idea to stir fried it with salted egg yolk. I must confess that this dish turns out really tasty!

Butter Crispy Red Tilapia with cucumber. The red Tilapia fish is a winner dish and pretty awesome at a glance on how they presented it to us. The fish meat is finely sliced and fried to perfection. Boneless and crispy fish meat to savour with the sourish cucumber+onions and little saltiness taste from the butter .The whole combination has the unique flavour, the oomph surfaces in your mouth when you mix it all together.

Famous Spicy Seafood Claypot - This was highly recommended and the best seller. The full-of-flavour seafood curry is a definitely must have, When it was served on our table, the curry broth is bubble up in the steaming claypot and loaded with fresh seafood ingredients - crabs, prawns, squids, fish, cuttlefish and fu chok. The curry was flavoursome and not too spicy. This dish really caught my attention and worth for the price of RM 60, you really get the charitable amounts of seafoods that you are actually expecting for it.Large size of the crabs and with fresh flesh

Braised pork belly that have the perfect layer of fat in between.Well Known restaurant that has been featured in newspaper and also TV Show

The mouth watering menu really makes me want to try out more dish from their menu. Pleasant dining environment and food are reasonably priced.

Looking forward to bring my parents along on my next visit.

We have a great time dining in at Suki-Ya @ KL Festival City Mall the last weekend for our lunch treats. It does prove it wrong when my sister said that the quality of Suki-Ya restaurant is getting worst. After my visit today, I can assured you that the food served is fresh and I am so impressed by their varieties of sushi choices!. Suki-Ya is not a new brand / restaurant. Everyone have heard of it for their popular first outlet in Pavilion that you need to queue up to dine in. Here comes another outlet in KL Festival located at Ground Floor just right next to Nando's at the center of the mall.

Suki-Ya is eat all you can buffet that offer a heart-warming
dining experience at an affordable price. Its signature Shabu-shabu dish is a
must-try, and goes extremely well with the quality meats served. Other popular
soup choices include Sukiyaki, Kimchi and Touyu Miso broth. You can order unlimited servings of delicious and fresh sliced beef, lamb and chicken. The salad bar featuring a wide
selection of fresh vegetables does helps in balancing up your food pyramid and to lead a healthier lifestyle.

Suki-Ya is more towards Japanese
Fusion food and you can also add ala carte food of your preference.

Assorted fresh green vegetables, small clams, mushroom, king oyster mushroom, shitake mushroom, carrots, tomatoes, sausages, yam, sweet corn, pumpkin, seafood tofu, udon noodles, fish balls, crab balls, cuttle fish balls and etc. Free flow of healthy side dishes that you can add more into the soup.

Relaxing dining atmosphere with good service from the staff. They assist us alot, helping to clear the plates and refill the stock broth immediately once they noticed it and always ensure the place is clean

Spacious outdoor seats

Miso Soup - A wildly popular Japanese winter dish, Tonyu is combined with miso for a nutritious & delicious soup base. They also have this spicy kimchi soup. The kimchi soup have a pleasant taste and not that spicy.

Sukiyaki is the traditional Japanese soup to warm bodies up and another soup is Shabu Shabu. This also can consume by vegetarian customer. The clear soup is sweetened by adding in more vegetables such as pumpkin, radish and corns. All soup and food parlour can be enjoy by all.

Serving of Japanese hot pot soup in a neat seating arrangements and boil it up using hot plate. We are served with Spicy Miso Tare sauce, Sesame sauce and Shoyu with vinegar).Make your sauce more interesting! Add garlic, chopped chillies, spring onion or grated radish to create a delectable dip!

Big space to cater more crowds. You can call to make reservation and they will reserved a nice place for you

Australian lamb meat

Chicken meat

Simmering hot soup that are ready for everything!

The kids wanted to help out to put in all the vegetables first.

Beautifully platted sushi! We get surprised each time the staff came out with a new platter. The choices are varieties and changes all the time. Each pieces of sushi looks yummy!

The sushi is refill again. The staff told me that during dinner time, they will served salmon sushi as well and it does changed all the time. You get to enjoy more sushi choices. I find that they have improved so much on the sushi platter. The sushi is fresh and each bite is so pleasurable. We ended up eating more sushi than the chicken meat. Sushi buffet is going on here.

Now, its time for my favourite desserts - the ice cream buffet!

My favourite green tea ice cream. There are few condiments for the soft served ice cream. Crushed peanuts, chocolate chip, natta de coco and cornflakes. You can choose to have cup or cone along with chocolate and green tea sundae. I will usually mix both and added on with chocolate chip.

Suki-Ya is definitely the place to be to full up your stomach with their mouth watering offerings and choices of food. The staff refill the food in a very efficient way. Value for money and to have fun together with friend and family member for a round of Japanese sukiyaki buffet.

Sukishi Japanese is located at IOI Mall Puchong level 3 (next to GSC Cinema). Sukishi is another authentic Japanese sukiyaki buffet served in a casual dining atmosphere. The buffet have unlimited servings of fresh meat - chicken, pork, beef and lamb. Yes! You can get the chance to order pork meat here and if you are meat lover, you will get to enjoy few stacks of varieties refillable meat. There are 4 fix choices of base soup which you can choose from the menu. Choose from sukiyaki, kimchi, shabu shabu, or miso soup flavours.

Array of fresh green vegetables, small clams, mushroom, king oyster mushroom, shiitake
mushroom, carrots, tomatoes, sausages, pork balls, yam, sweet corn, pumpkin, seafood tofu,
udon noodles, fish balls, crab balls, cuttle fish balls and etc. Healthy food bar that are nutritious and perfect choice to lead to a healthier lifestyle.

You can have the pork fishball version here!

Wonderfully plated sushi. Lots of of choices that do makes me wanna have more pieces.

Suki-ya use only premium quality pasteurized eggs. The beaten raw egg is great as a dipping sauce for sukiyaki. You can dip the freshly cooked meat into the raw egg and you will be surprised how good it taste like.

The ice creams counters. You can also get refillable ice lemon tea on your own.

Servings of hot green tea

Each table are served with their standard dipping sauces. From right to left (Spicy Miso Tare sauce, Sesame sauce and Shoyu with vinegar).

Spicy Miso Tare - A savoury sauce of simmered miso that complements most ingredients. Chopped spring onions, garlic or chillies may be added according to your preference.

Sesame Sauce - A special sesame sauce made from white sesame that goes well with most ingredients.

Shoyu with vinegar is a citrus base sauce that is traditionally enjoyed with Shabu Shabu. Grated radish & chopped spring onion may be added according to your preference.

I prefer to dip spicy miso tare sauce for my meat especially.

We choose Sukiyaki and Shabu Shabu soup. Sukiyaki, a Japanese favourite, is a combination of soy sauce, sugar & mirin and Shabu Shabu soup is made from healthy kombu stock & simmered kelp. As we bring the kids, these two choices are the best for them. I prefer the natural sweetness taste from the sukiyaki soup. We have to bring this broth to boil first before we can put the vegetables in.Sukishi have a comfortable air conditioning dining environment and suitable for family and also friend gathering to interacting with each other while waiting anxiously for the food. This also a great time being together choosing your favourite food to dump all into the hot pot and the fun to grab yours once it get boiled. The kids are excited helping me to take the vegetables and putting them in to the soup. But please be cautious as the handle of the hot pot are extremely hot!

Ample of spaces and each table settings are neat..I noticed even though is buffet style, the place is well maintained. The staff will wipe the place and ensure the food bar is always clean.Kid cutlery is provided with complete set of a colourful bowl along with fork and spoon. The kids can enjoy the food on their own. But I would prefer if they can have the plastic version like those in Ikea cutlery for the kids This is the basic steps to enjoy the delicious sukiyaki soup
and how to enhance the sweetness in your soup, You have to put onion and leeks
into the sukiyaki broth.Dip the meat into the boiling soup and turn few times
and end your meal with rice or noodle with the remaining soups.

Tips : Do cook the hard vegetables first and you can put in the mushroom later
on.

Pork Slice

Lamb Meat

Chicken Meat

Fresh Australian chilled beef, lamb, farmed chicken, and pork slice meat. The meat are fresh and finely slice into thin layer. Easy to cook and you can just dip it into the hot soup. You swish front and back. Once change colour, the meat are ready to consume. Using only top quality meats, here will surely satisfy you with plenty of choices. I prefer the pork and lamb meat.

Beef Meat

The soup is pleasant and both broth are equally delicious. Aromatic and appetizing Japanese hot pot soup to savour with the dipping sauce and along with the cooked vegetables and meat.

Watermelon fruis serving are also available hereBuffet all day long with other ala carte choices to add onAdd on with Tori Karaage. Crispy and juicy at every bite

Our favourite desserts is here with green tea ice cream. There are few condiments for the soft served ice cream. Crushed peanuts, chocolate chip, natta de coco and cornflakes. You can choose to have cup or cone along with chocolate and green tea ice cream. I will usually mix both and added on with chocolate chip. Cool and light desserts makes it a perfect end for my excellent meal.

Within a few minutes, I able to capture a full picture of the refillable fresh green vegetables. I am impressed on how they managed the whole restaurant. The services is superb fast, efficient, and they ensure the food are served and refill immediately. The staff is attentive to your request and at the same time maintain a good hygiene of the food served too. At 3pm now, they are still patrons coming in and the staff are still busy preparing the ingredients and refill the assorted sushi with fast paced environment. Thumbs up for that great job. You will always see the food counter full and never been empty with adding on some new items. It's our first visit hereTrust the kids. See how satisfied they are after the delectable meal together. It also the fun of dining in with lots of food and spending a wonderful weekend with this special weekend treat.
