Acme Bar & Coffee (known as ABC in short) is a perfect vintage western restaurant located in the Troika, Jalan Binjai, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The breathtaking interior designs gave a fusion of European vintage environment with a tad bit of city bar stunning style in the restaurant itself. It is one of the higher tier cafe in my list which gave you a money-worthy satisfaction after the dinner yet bonus point lusting in the nice ambient. Extra relaxation after work, awesome.

Wine first before meal, isn't it a good habit or bad?
With their wine quality, you would not mind spending for a sip.

If you want a casual discussion or a cup of coffee to ponder the meaning of life, you can have it outside of the restaurant. Which I would do that because they have comfort sofa bench as well as stylish chairs that gave addition points in the whole combination.

If you are well dressed and prefer a cozy dining, yes, you may merge into the vintage land in one of the corner inside the restaurant. Do remind yourself not to fell asleep in the cozy corner after the dinner. During night time, the light will be dim which created a romantic yet extra casual ambient in ABC. Couple of people will be spending their time catching up after dinner, do make sure you make your appointment before it's too late.

Menu that 'bloom' into you. I went there during the last spring so their menu was in spring design (Malaysia has no spring but that was spring season for your information). For your information, ABC has a well-designed menu each seasons! Since it is summer now, they have their awesome menu in summer style. You may log on to their website to see the menu, or click here for your reference. http://acmebarcoffee.com/food-menu/ Menu is organized and tempting with the description below each food.

*sorry for the overexposed picture, I was too anticipated to taste this appetizer and did not retake a better picture.
This is Lamb Kofta Sticks, serves as appetizer. It is pan-seared with pomegranate mint yoghurt that gave you a mix of salt and sour sensation. Lamb is fine and tender, it is not too dry or I can say it is still juicy even after fried. For people that wish for a sip of wine and finger food with a little chit chat, this can be your choice as well. Or for lady that is afraid calories or is on diet, why not giving this a try instead of just pure salad?

This is Smoked Salmon Wheatberry Salad. A bed of salad in balsamic dressing with Norwegian Salmon. With the balsamic dressing, this is simply delightful! Salmon is fresh and sweet. The presentation of the whole set is rather good and appetizing.

Lastly, Pan-Seared Mullet Fish Fillet. The fish fillet is slightly dipped in the truffle of parsley arrancini & bouillabaisse sauce, not too salty but above average. Three parsley arrancini will be served in this meal, it was fantastic! We were asking if they do serve parsley arrancini alone as finger foods but sadly no. Since they do not serve parsley arrancini alone, it will be too much for me to have two set of mullet fish fillet and I've decided to save it for the next meal. Apart from this, heard that they are famous with their smoked duck breast pasta, rigatoni puttanesca pasta, grilled fillet of ostrich etc

Overall, I love this restaurant! Not just of the foods and wine but ambient and services were all great. In my opinion, they do have the quality to be recommended to everyone.

Last Saturday, i was craving for some healthy food and so I came across this shop in Mont Kiara, I would love to visit again!

My friend wasn't a soya nor sesame person but he was impressed with the black sesame soya that he'd ordered.
It was that good. The natural smell of sesame blended so well into soya, it was awesome.

For me, I had ordered a set of herbs chicken soup with rice. I was having a bad cough but, helped my throat to calm down abit.

Appetizer was brocolli with carrots in soy sauce and sesame steamed peanuts with cucumber. Main course was the highlight! For the organic brown rice, i saw bailey, red beans and brown rice. I do love it so much! The herb soup was good and warm. Vegetarian chicken was made with beancurd wrapped with carrots and vegetables. It tasted just good and I managed to finish the whole thing all by my own.

When the set was served, I was surprised with the extra soup which was carrot with sweet potatoes.
It was nice too but i gave it to my friend as i was too full of soup.

I want to go back to the shop to try their vegetable curry ,si chuan spicy ramen and asam fish! Too bad i had sore throat that day.

The price is normal.
Whole set is about RM17.90.

I will recommend this shop.
If you want to eat something healthy, this would be the best choose.

My first ever Makan Venture with Openricers at San Hui Wei Restaurant!
San Hui Wei serves authentic Chong Qing(重庆) steamboats and the owner (lady boss) Maggie is from China. As what she had mentioned, the chef there is from Chong Qing as well. Chong Qing, China is a humid place, even there have seasons, but mostly it is still cold. People in Chong Qing always eat hot and spicy (ma la) steamboat to ease the coldness.

We were served with double steamboat pots with hot and spicy (mala) on one side, and herbs soup on the other side. From Maggie, the hot and spicy pot that she serves was just middle range of spiciness. They do have higher and even more spicy steamboat for people. Just that we, Malaysian do not eat that kind of spicy food which for us, is beyond words. SO SPICY AND NUMB TONGUE WITH SEXY SWOLLEN LIPS. But I do enjoy the ma la so badly.

Hot and Spicy Ma la soup! It tasted and smelled really good. Don't cheat by the oil on top, it was not too oily after all.

Herbs-based soup is famous among us because most of us couldn't bear with the sexy hot and spicy soup. It goes well with or without the ingredients, taste wise this is sweet and the herbs smell is really nice. Maggie, the owner told us that the Chef did put alot of efforts in boiling this soup. Yummy!

Chilis are the essential in every steamboat restaurant. Maggie had invented several type of chilli from red to green, the green chili tasted the BEST (it contains celery, lemon, chili, garlic etc). The one right at the bottom is peanut paste, so to create one awesome chili for your steamboat, you will need to put two scoops of red chilli paste, two scoops of green, one scoop of peanut, a big of chilli oil and garlic oil. PERFECT!

Too yummy for real! I will definitely go back for more!

Egg benedicts OK Sep 29, 2013

Breakfast in Pavilion on one fine Sunday. Was craving for egg benedict and so ordered this with a cup of tea. Egg benedict came with their in house salad with olive oil topping and some almond and nut flakes. The egg benefict here is well cooked. They did put in a slice of ham beneath the egg and baked it with homemade hollandaise sauce and topped with herbs. Taste wise this is thick and very nice for their hollandaise sauce.

Tom Yum Seafood OK Sep 29, 2013   (Related Review)

Tom yum soup is a dish that everyone will order in Thai restaurant. Tom yum soup here is more to clear base. But the spiciness maintained. Never ever underestimate their clear soup, you need alot of water to ease the spiciness. Ingredients wise you can choose between chicken tom yum soup or seafood tom yum soup. One thing I've realized in tom yum soup is the amount of basil leaves and vegetables that added some smell to the tom yum. Overall nice.
