Spicy Fried Rice OK May 31, 2013   (Related Review)

The spicy fried rice in Pormtip really does live up to its name. Even at the first bite, I was already stunned by the spiciness of the dish. The fried rice is garnished with strips of scrambled eggs at the top. It is also served with some prawn crackers and 2 slices of cucumber and 1 slice of tomato which presumably may help with the spiciness. The dish has a nice flavour and taste to it, but I would certainly enjoy it more if it was not that spicy. It has chicken and mixed vegetables among others in the dish. This dish costs RM8.80.

The basil leaf beef fried rice in Pormtip very delicious upon the first bite. It has a very nice presentation of the white rice being served in an inverted cone shape. The basil lead beef mix has a nice flavour and aroma of the basil leaf. The beef was also cooked well as it is juicy without being too chewy. However, after a few bites, the spiciness of the dish was beginning to get to me, and I had to order another cup of drink as the dish was extremely spicy at the end. This dish costs RM10.80.

Pineapple Fried Rice OK May 31, 2013   (Related Review)

The pineapple fried rice in Pormtip is exquisitely served inside of a pineapple which is very pleasing to the eyes. The fried rice is garnished with a nice amount of cashew nuts on top, and the pineapple is filled with fried rice to the brim. The fried rice is quite delicious, as it has a nice wok hei to it, although I find it a little too lacking of pineapple. This dish also has chicken slices and mixed vegetable among others. For RM9.80, it is of decent value.

Pad Thai OK May 31, 2013

At the ground floor of USJ19 mall, there is a Thai restaurant that was recommended by a colleague and so we decided to give it a try for lunch. I ordered the Phad Thai, as it is among one of the signature dishes of Thailand. The dish did not take too long to arrive, but it arrived smoking hot. Upon my first taste of the dish, I find that the Phad Thai here is a little too wet for my liking. However, what I like about this dish is that they gave quite a generous amount of grinded peanuts and fresh crunchy beansprout to serve with the dish. The dish is also served with some medium sized prawns. For RM9.80 it is a little expensive for me.

Tiramisu Cake Smile May 30, 2013

I had a craving for Alexis' tiramisu cake, so made hubby drive all the way there to tapau a slice for me, while I wait patiently at home. He came back with my prize, a slice of heavenly tiramisu cake. The cake was still chilled, which was good! The top is smothered in caramelised almonds, which to me is the highlight of the cake. The ladies' finger between the delectable vanilla cream was fluffy and light. The vanilla cream also contained chocolate chunks which melts in the mouth. Together with some raspberry sauce, the cake is definitely a winner!
