I was wondering around Paradigm Mall the other day, looking for some buns for breakfast the next morning. I decided to go by Cake Sense to see if they have anything interesting. The parmesan sausage bun looked rather appealing, so I bought one. The bun had bits of browned parmesan cheese on top, and this gives it a slighty salty flavour. The bun is also quite soft, and the sausage quite tasty. Quite recommended!

The sweet and sour abalone mushroom in Chin Swee Vegetarian Restaurant reminded me of Wonderland in Niche Vegetarian Restaurant. The abalone mushroom is dipped in batter before being deep-fried to golden perfection, and served on a base of mixed tomato and chilli sauce. I thought that the batter was a bit too thick, hence it was slightly harder than most on the teeth, but it was still acceptable.

While eating, we were suddenly greeted by a couple of ex-colleagues who wanted to have dinner at the same restaurant. I was happy, and this meant that I have a chance to try out more dishes. They ordered the Kung Po Squid. Each piece of morsel did resemble a piece of squid, and they were fried nicely with just the right amount of spiciness of dried chillies. Served together with some cashew nuts, it was quite unforgettable.

Four Heaven King, or "Sei Dai Tin Wong" is a usual fare served in most restaurants. We decided to sample this, as we wanted something spicy. There were four types of assorted vegetables in this dish, namely long beans, brinjals, petai and ladies' fingers, hence the name of Four Heaven King. Nicely fried with some chilli, the vegetables were crunchy and very nice, albeit a little spicy for my tastes.

I wanted some green vegetables, so I decided to have the beancurd sheets with mushroom. It contained lots of crunchy, well-cooked brocollis on the side. The shitake mushrooms were juicy and delectable, which the beancurd sheets were fried to perfection. Definitely a good dish to have, especially in a vegetarian restaurant, and if you do not want to eat mock meat.
