Fresh steamed fish Cry Jul 23, 2012   (Related Review)

Fresh steamed fish

I'm always a fan of steamed fish, expecially if the fish is really fresh. Unfortunately for this dish, i felt that the fish wasn't really fresh, that it left a slightly bad after taste. The condiments that accompanied this dish however was okay, with lots of ginger and tomyam paste to bring out the flavour. It was unfortunate that the fish wasnt as fresh as i liked it to be.

Cantonese Yin Yong Cry Jul 23, 2012

Cantonese Yin YOng

Well, the food isn't bad, in fact it was really tasty. But too tasty isn't always a good thing, which got me thinking how much taste enhancing powder "think Ajinomoto" have they added into the dishes. I'm not blindly saying this, as almost always I feel really thirsty after a meal here.

The Cantonese yin yong, was crunchy with the meaty sauce added in around it. It must be eaten hot, fresh from the kicthen so that the noodles does not soak too much of the sauce and goes too soft.

Grilled Pork Chop with Spaghetti - RM 10.50

One thing I have to note, the menus that came to us were in so many pieces that we were so confused and did not know what to order. Coupled with the fact that the meals had promotions which if we were to add a further RM 4.90 we would be getting a drink, soup and dessert.

I had some complaints before on the grilled pork served at this outlet, and for this dish, it was the same. The flavour just wasn't strong enough, and rather bland. Coupled with some "not-so-tangy" spaghettis, I wouldn't recommend this dish actually. Prepare to douse it in extra soy sauce or pepper to actually bring out the flavour for this dish.

Grilled Pork Chop Meal Cry Jul 20, 2012

Grilled Pork Chop Meal - RM 10.50

Wong Kok Kitchen, now this franchise is a familiar name in Malaysia, and it so happened that I dropped by one of its restaurant outlet in Prangin Mall, Penang

The grilled pork chop meal came with some rice, baked beans and a sunny side up egg on top of the grilled pork. I have no complains here, even though the pork did feel slightly under-taste. My guess is they did not marinate enough for the pork to actually retain its flavour. I had to actually ask for more pepper to enhance the flavour of the grilled pork.

Sauteed String Beans Cry Jul 17, 2012   (Related Review)

Sauteed String Beans - RM15

I ended the meal with Fong Keow Sauteed String Beans as one of my veggie dish. The way Fong Keow prepared this dish was too simple by just are stir fried the beans with plain garlic. I did not really fancy the string beans this time though. They should add dried shrimp for flavor. As I felt it was a tad too overcooked leaving the string beans feeling soft and mushy.
