In The Bowl do provide snacks for those who rather go for some light bites instead of a heavy meal. This was the time where I had the chance to indulge in some nice deep fried chicken skin. The taste of the chicken skin is so crispy and tasty that you will not ever think of it is actually coming from the chicken skin. It feel like eating crackers. According to the owner, it is not easy to prepare this dish. As the skin need to properly clean to take out the chicken fat and fully dried before it was marinated. Of course, the size of chicken skin was huge, and if it can be reduced a bit, then this dish will be a perfect dish for male or even female. This dish is not oil at all. Do try it out.

Tonight was really an eventful night. It was Bernard's birthday today and a bunch of bloggers decided to have a birthday celebration aka dinner gathering over at this really cool German restaurant at Midvalley. Brotzeir Bier Bar and Restaurant was the name of our venue tonight.

As it was my first time at this restaurant, I was very excited over the food. I've read some really good food reviews on this restaurant and couldn't wait to try the food myself! Well, as there were 15 of us tonight, we have to sit over at 2 separate tables. Have a look below on the food we ordered. It was quite pricey but the food was well worth the price because everything was delicious!

I think this has got to be one of my few posts which contains so much food pictures. But I can't help it, all the portions were so big and tasty, I just had to share it here. All the food here tasted great, as I couldn't find fault with any of it. The Pork Ribs is the best dish of the night. The portion is big enough to four person. The crispness of the skin and the tenderness of the meat make me finger liking.

Well, what was a birthday without a birthday song and a cake Towards the end of the dinner Bernard was presented his cake, with a complimentary birthday song! The funny thing was, he wasn't allowed to blow the candles until everyone had taken their turns to snap pictures of the cake. There were more than 8 cameras snapping away. Well, Happy Birthday Bernard!

BIG APPLE DONUTS & COFFEE Smile Jan 21, 2012

Donuts! Round shaped sweet things that you pop in your mouth to savor its soft bread and sweet sweet fillings. Donuts have evolved from the old fashioned basic O shaped bread with sugar coating, to today's donuts which comes in all types of coating and fillings! Thankfully, donuts still retain their round shape.

At Jaya Jusco Wangsa Maju, just next to the groceries section, we have this famous donuts franchise named "Big Apple Donuts & Coffee". I'm sure some if not most of you have heard of this donuts chain before, and even have tried it. Well, this is going to be my sharing of what I ate there the other day.

The thing that caught my attention was the brightly colored donuts which was displayed under a glass pane ready for your choosing. We have all types of colors, which corresponds to the flavours ranging from durian to chocolate to mint to green tea to... well you get my drift. Have a look below at the spread.

There's another donut franchise called Dunkin Donuts, but let's leave that for another posting. Anyway since I just had my dinner, I could not order much and settled for only 2 donuts to be taken with my partner. By right I shouldn't even order any, but the flavors were too tempting!

Big Apple Donuts have boxes for a minimum of 2 donuts to a maximum of 12 donuts. And it gets cheaper when you buy in bulk. For me 2 pieces of donuts cost me RM4.60, which was RM2.30 per piece. I took the Cappuccino flavored one and Chocolate Almond Nuts flavored one. I'm sorry, the names may differ, because they so many interesting names that I forgot whats it called!
Ta da!! Donuts.....

Delicious. That sums up my donuts eating experience. The bread is really soft, and the moment you bite in, the flavored cream fills your mouth with sweetness. Just my style, as I like a lot of sweetness in my life. I just have to be careful not to overdo the sweetness! Once in a while is ok.

KFC TOASTED POCKETFUL Smile Jan 21, 2012

Categories : Western variety | Restaurant | Burgers / Sandwiches | Halal

KFC, short for Kentucky Fried Chicken, but you don't see them using these words anymore. They have rebranded everything with just 3 letters, "KFC". I guess there isn't a need to introduce this famous fast food chain so I shall jump straight to the point.

First off, I don't normally go for fast food chains, and even if I do, I actually preferred McDonalds to KFC. Anyway that's beside the point, and there I was at KFC Jusco AU2 pondering on whether I should have it for dinner or not.

Well, my stomach made the decision for me that day, as I noticed there was something new on the menu. KFC Toasted Pocketful was the name, and if I'm not mistaken it came out mid of last year, but was taken off the menu until recently in February 2011. Don't ask me why, as I'm not sure myself.

The name reminded me of pocket lunches, and I guess it was called that because the packaging it came in does look like a pocket. The tagline for Toasted Pocketful Take a bite out of the Unexpected! Ordered that, and the other usual suspects of KFC, namely its chicken (specifically ordered thighs), potato wedges with cheese, and coleslaw (my all time favourite!)

KFC Toasted Pocketful tasted good with ingredients made up of the Zinger chicken fillet, lettuce, corn kernels, crispy chicken strip, and Chacho's corn chips topped with jalapeno cheese sauce. Everything is wrapped nicely in a tortilla before being toasted. Appetizing indeed.

Overall, it was a quick and satisfying meal without burning a hole in my pocket. I must say KFC is an OK place, and when I'm not frequenting my McD's I would definately have my 2pcs KFC for a quick fix. Do check out the KFC Toasted Pocketful if you haven't tried it yet.

I feel so outdated. Sticky traditional hand made candies shop was in existence in 1 Utama Mall for more than 2 years already, and I only saw it for the first time yesterday. I guess I'm not such a social mall loiterer as I thought I was. My only excuse was I'm not from around PJ area, so I rarely come over 1 Utama to shop.

This candy store is aptly named "STICKY", and what a sight it was. There was a crowd of customers and passerby watching the staff work their magic with the candies. It's amazing how they're able to hand-roll one big chunk of melted candy, flip it around, stretch it, twist it, and voila, small bits of chunky candies are produced!

The shop itself smelt strangely like wax, but in a nice candylike way. I just stood there watching the workers play with the molten candy like playing with cake dough.

After being totally obsessed with watching these guys work their magic, I took the chance to walk around the shop looking at the end product. They produce cute chunky small bits of colorful candies, with words and patterns. It's really beautiful, and I feel these candies would make the perfect gift for any occasion. If you were to drop by 1 Utama, do check out this special candy store!
