Salt Lassi

Salt Lassi

Having tried the mango lassi, I was excited when my boyfriend recommended this salt lassi for my next visit. I did order this but did not find myself liking it because I have sweet tooth. Flavored with just salt, you can taste the original flavor of lassi, which is a good thing. However I just like it sweet. Texture wise, it was very frothy and smooth on tongue. It was very filling on its own too.

Fried Tenggiri Sedaps! Smile Jul 31, 2012   (Related Review)

Fried Tenggiri

Fried Tenggiri

Tenggiri is not my favorite fish but I do enjoy them casually. Being told that their fried tenggiri is good, I decided to have one as well. The tenggiri was very fresh and fried to the right crispiness without jeopardizing the texture of the meat. The tenggiri fish was very soft on the inside, and crispy on the outside. You could have it with lime juice or not. For me I love it with lime as it helped to spice up the flavor.

Banana Leaf Rice OK Jul 31, 2012

Banana Leaf Rice

Banana Leaf Rice

The idea of banana leaf rice is very appealing to those carbo lovers. Me myself is not so much of a rice lover. However banana leaf rice was something I have not tried here though I do hear good things about it. The rice was very cooked to the right fluffiness without being soggy, the side dishes seemed to taste like freshly made. Flavor wise, I would say it was very balanced. The one I loved most was the bottom left vege, salted but not bland. The other two side dishes were just normal.

Decent Char Siew Pao Smile Jul 31, 2012   (Related Review)

Char Siew Pao

Char Siew Pao

This was the best dim sum we had in Royal China during the last visit. When compared to other places, it is not the best still. Good thing about it was the soft and fluffy bun which provided a good base for the gravy to soak into as well as on the tough. The char siew fillings was flavourful too. However it could be better by filling up with more char siew and make the filling juicier. Most importantly, serve it when it is steaming hot!

Steamed Prawns with Garlic

Steamed Prawns with Garlic

Another dish from Putien which I personally fond of was this garlic prawn. The presentation was very inviting. The prawns were whole cut deveined, means eating prawns were less effortless. Loaded with chunks of garlic, it was just as simple as it is named. The prawns were not the best grade but at least it wasn't artificially made-fresh (chemical involved).
