Kam Heong Soft Shell Crab

Kam Heong Soft Shell Crab

As the title indicated, this was the super flavorful dish I had in Urban Spoon. The texture of the noodle was firm, allowing the gravy to blend with it but not too much that it made the noodle soggy. Love the asian style gravy with chili leaves and some curry powder perhaps. It reminded me of babas curry powder ;D

The soft shell crab was fried to crispiness, both inside and outside. Lovely! When eaten with the noodle, you combine the best of both world. For person whom favor strong flavor like me, this is the dish for you smile Be careful on the carbs and fat load though!

Carrot & Orange Soup

Carrot & Orange Soup

To be frank I am not a fan of carrot soup and I have not tried one for fear that I would get myself disappointed and deterred from trying another again. If you did not count the carrot slices in Chinese style boiled soup, this was my first carrot soup. Interesting it was, it had orange in it too! You must be thinking, "Sure bohhh?". Well that was my first expression to my boyfriend.

It was hard to imagine how these two could go along with one another. Surprising I was, it was heavenly. It was then I realised it was possible, and Urban Spoon has definitely done it right. The orange did not taste as explicit as I thought it would be. It blended into the carrot soup, injecting a tinge of citrus and sourish in it. The freshness of prawn was proven by the chunkiness texture, definitely not made fresh. Some sauteéd onion slices was thoughtful as it enhanced the aroma, as well as the flavor of the soup.

Chilled Avocado Puree with Walnut Ice Cream

Chilled Avocado Puree with Walnut Ice Cream

Mango puree might be a little too predictable, so i decided to have avocado puree for the first time in my life. I love avocado in general for it is so creamy on its own, and not forgetting, it has natural sweetness that additional flavoring is optional. This chilled avocado puree was very creamy, so creamy that I just "mmmm" and gave my nod of approval. BUT you must eat it with the walnut ice cream as it balanced out the avocado with more coldness and nutty flavor in the dessert. The portion was a little small, but it was definitely worth trying. Where else serve this dessert??

Pan Seared Stuffed Scallop with Squid Mousse

Pan Seared Stuffed Scallop with Squid Mousse

Gosh, I simply love this. Yes, it is expensive but the combination was heavenly! Look at the big white pan seared scallop. It was my first time seeing such a big fresh scallop and I could have it all by myself! The scallop was mildly flavored as usual due to its slightly chewy texture. The key to enjoy the dish was to eat it with the egg white, pumpkin and truffle puree as it complemented the lack of flavor of scallop on its own. The caviar was a bonus point! I wouldn't mind to have another one smile

Good Coffee! Smile May 05, 2012

I have always heard good things about RAW in Avenue K. Instead of heading all the way there, I tried another branch of theirs, namely Artisan Roast.

Not knowing what to order, I decided to get myself a latte.
Latte (stronger)

Latte

Both of these were latte. However the intensity varied. The one that came in black cup was bolder, whilst another was smoother and light, which was better choice for tea. Both flavor was very balanced and not having the tannin after taste. Judging by the lack of side effect of coffee, this coffee must be at least of certain quality.

Recommended Dish(es):  latte

Spending per head: Approximately RM13.50
