Bitter Chocolate Shaven Ice Cry Jul 29, 2012

Chocolate Snow Ice [RM7.80]

Chocolate Snow Ice [RM7.80]

Perhaps I am a little conservative when it comes to chocolate ice. I expected it to be sweet and what greeted me was bitter chocolate ice. It did not taste as creamy as real chocolate but bitter like one. Hence I did not find myself liking it much. The use of banana to complement the chocolate was not ideal as it was bitter and mild. The white balls were made of glutinous rice and somehow it did not match with the chocolate shaven ice as well. Texture of the chocolate ice was good but just the overall package did not suit my preference.

On a separate note, the waiter delivered my order to the wrong table (we changed table and by right they should be aware of it) and ended up I waited triple of the usual time for something I did not like.

Pudding

Pudding

The presentation was lovely but the outlook of "Raspberry pudding" was questionable. I tried it nevertheless and found myself coughing at the taste of cough syrup. It tasted purely of artificial flavoring and the texture just off.
Tiramisu

Tiramisu

Tiramisu was slightly different. It tasted like almond, which was an acquired taste that I couldn't adopt. The texture was fine but the taste was just not my thing.

Kuih Talam

Kuih Talam

I am a fan of green Malay dessert and kuih talam is considered one of them. It did look very pretty and promising. After I took a bite, I threw it away without further hesitation. The glutinous rice was alright but the green layer was not fragrant, bland and too chewy like plastic.
Sago Lapis

Sago Lapis

This sago lapis was another disappointment. The cold temperature made it worse. No doubt, the sago was very chewy but tasteless at the same time. The texture was fine but just not the right package.

Salmon teppanyaki

Salmon teppanyaki

I love salmon when it is cooked to the right cookness without jeopardizing the texture. This salmon teriyaki had the wrong texture as it was overcooked. The taste was different from what I perceive of teriyaki sauce.
Ikan Masak Singgang Lemak

Ikan Masak Singgang Lemak

Tenggiri too was cooked to the right tenderness but the dish itself was served cold, which was a bad idea when the fish was not fresh enough. In this case, it was not fresh and served cold.

Overall, just stay away from the fish.

Cookies & Cream [RM12.45]

Cookies & Cream [RM12.45]

Perhaps sinful thing has lower quota for me. This cookies and cream is a good smoothies to have when you are all in for the sinfulness but after having as lunch on one fine day, I decided that it is not a good idea at all to have it over lunch. Personally it would be good for sharing. It tasted strongly of vanilla and cookies. So sweet that I actually spend 2 times of my usual time to finish an Original size Boost. My advice is just stick to the standard order, ie no less ice, no more yoghurt, no more cookies.
