Power beef noodles! Smile Jan 17, 2013

I LOVE beef noodles. There are not that many, since many Chinese don't consume beef. And among the few who sell beef noodles, they are either not tasty enough, stingy with ingredients, or simply are not appetizing enough.

Which is why Restaurant Tangkak Beef was such a surprise to me. At RM5.50/small, RM6.50/medium and RM7.50/large, this is definitely THE PLACE to go for beef noodles.

The pictures you see are the medium bowls. This is the pure beef (no intestines/tendons etc) + beef balls. The beef chunks were huge, soft and tasteful (if there is such a word!). Every bite brought only satisfaction and along with the laksa noodle, could not be any better.

The beef noodle soup (with intestines, liver, tendon etc). Just like the one above, the soup was rice and delicious, the beef noodles and ingredients was generous, and the beef slices were just to perfection. Good till the very last drop!

Power beef noodles, thats what it is. Haven't tasted such a great one since Pho @curve. Ps: service is great too, you'll be greeted with "thank you boss" (in mandarin) when you leave the shop. makes you feel like a king! lol

Western food in Kluang Smile Jan 17, 2013

During my trip to Kluang, there were 2 places that served good western food. One is Ritch, and the other one is "Kokok". They are actually 1 min drive apart, in the same location.

Kokok serves Western food at somewhat KL prices, and the ambiance is nice as well. There is also a bar counter with lots and lots of hard drinks that would cost you a bomb as well. Hehe.

Pan seared fish fillet with ample greens. Taste is not bad, the food is fresh and the greens are...green. The sauce complemented the fish well. The presentation is good too, no?

Turkey ham sandwich. This was awesome, if you ask me. price range around RM10+. the chips were crispy and tasty(read: salty) and i loved it. portion was good! turkey ham was delicious, non spicy, and the bread was warm and lovely.

Would I go back? yes, definitely smile
