Hi Tea @ Botanical Smile Aug 17, 2012

Categories : Western variety | Restaurant | Pizza/Pasta

Recently , I tried out high tea at botanical at Bangsar Village 2.

The spread, although simple, was really really good. Variety was aplenty.

The chocolate cakes were nice! It was rich in chocolate flavour and was soft, not overbaked. Awesome.

Macaroons and marshmallows. The macaroons were a tad too sweet for my liking, but the texture was perfect, no complaints.

Various little bites, which tasted very, very good.

I especially liked the bun with the sausage filling in it. It was very well done, with the juicy sausage and tasty pastry.

I definitely had a good high tea lol

Gao Ren Guan experience Smile Aug 17, 2012

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Seafood

In the heart of Puchong lies this place called the "Gao Ren Guan", which is a restaurant where I find tasty food at reasonable prices.

The backdrop shows their signature dishes. Especially when you're hungry, don't be surprised to see saliva drooling down unknowingly! Haha

Their Hong Kong Kailan stir fry with garlic. The garlic was nice and was not burnt, and the vegetables were sliced into half, which made it easier to eat. The vege was clean and fresh, and was tasty. Not too oily.

I highly recommend their stir fry pork with ginger and leek. The meat was tender and a good point to note was all were lean! Its hard to find restaurants that won't add a piece or two of fat meat, and it was a pleasant surprise. I personally am not a fan of leek, and I found the dish more than palatable. I enjoyed the juicy meat, which did not have an overwhelming ginger or leek taste.

For a concept restaurant, I think Little pantry does very very well. It is warmly designed, and its food is also exquisite. lol

I LOVE the hot chocolate there. Reminds you of spiderman? The counter for drinks put the hot syrup and made it look like a spiderweb. The hot chocolate is RM8.90, and is thick, not unlike thick milo. It is sweet but not overly sickening sweet, and its froth also tastes as delicious as it looks lol

The blueberry cheesecake (RM8.90) is also HEAVENLY. Its blueberry filling is just nice, not too sweet, not under. The chocolate piece at the top just adds a lovely twist to the flavour. The icing is not too much as you can see, and it made for a lovely tea. smile

PiccaDilly, a nice place to be  Smile Jan 29, 2012

I've been at Picca Dilly several times now, and it has never failed to impress me. The portion is huge (or at least, reasonable), the price is always fair, and the taste is good as well. Besides that, the service is not too slow.

Today, I shall introduce to you some of the food from various catagories.

I don't have pictures, but if you like mushroom soup, theirs is pretty tasty, and comes with a piece of garlic bread.

Turkey ham pizza is around RM18 if I'm not mistaken. Full of cheese and turkey ham, the pizza is fully loaded, and is awesome tasting in the mouth lol

Normal white rice with rendang chicken I think. Chicken piece is big (not your small puny chicken), and with crackers as well. Price around RM6-8

Kung bao chicken from the chinese category. usually people complain chicken pieces are scarce when you eat out, here the portion is generous.

Hokkien mee. One of my favourite dishes of all times. Here its not too oily, and the portion comes with generous amount of prawns, fishcakes etc too. minus the pork lard, of course tongue

a huge pot of briyani king special (something like that). has both mutton and chicken meat. definitely a mouthful, and quite a lot for a girl like me. price about RM10.50.

Nasi Briyani Kambing. My favourite (I like lamb). The lamb portion in that little bowl is generous, and the taste really "kao" (tasty). If you're a lamb lover, a definite must try.

Mango jelly pudding dessert. Nice. They have a variety of desserts from your average ice kacang to cendols, lo han guo and much more.

The staff there are friendly as well, and some even know every single item on the menu! say when you tell them "no 85", they'll confirm (example) : nasi ayam" and its usually correct! Salute lol

There is also a nice bridge like structure where when lighted up at night is nice for photography. Verdict: A nice place for food, company and drinks too.

Recommended Dish(es):  Turkey ham pizza,Nasi Briyani Kambing, briyani king special

Spending per head: Approximately RM12(晚餐)

Pho Hua was my first try at Vietnamese food.

The walls are painted with vietnamese culture in mind. Looked lovely smile

The vietnamese noodle is the BEST there is, aside from the beef noodle. The beef noodle is heavenly, and the soup is just nice , tasty with no beefy smell. The beef slices are fresh! I love it! The spring roll and noodles are tossed together for a good mix, then you pour the small bowl of sauce (at the side) into it. I love it too! healthy tasting, crispy (raw vege like tauge) and "syiok". The meat pieces are tender to bite and don't cause me any toothache.
