Spanish Doughnut snack OK Sep 21, 2013

Categories : European | Stall / Warung

Churros Royale is quietly located at LG in Tropicana City mall. There are only limited seat but it's quite quiet, so it's suitable for a few friends to munch on some snack and chill in the restaurant. if you are thinking of getting some little snack before watching movie, Churros would be a great choice.
Dippie Big Bite

Dippie Big Bite

Dippie Big Bite (4 piece RM 9.50) with a few of Dipping sauce available, like Vanilla, Mango, Chocolate and Butterscotch. I've tried the Chocolate and Butterscotch sauce so far. The chocolate sauce used is slightly bitter, which would be loved by those prefer dark chocolate. Butterscotch sauce is very aromatic and rich in taste.
Creamie Big Bite

Creamie Big Bite

Creamie Big Bite (2pcs RM7.50)with Vanilla filling. The Vanilla is cold from the inside while the Churro is crispy on the outside. It's a good combination and I'd recommend it.
Chocolate and Vanilla Milkshake

Chocolate and Vanilla Milkshake

Chocolate and Vanilla Milkshake taste like melted ice cream and nothing more than that.

Overall, the Spanish Doughnut aka Churro is a more filling snack. You can choose the thinner Churro to dip with sauces or the fatter Churro which is already filled with filling. If you love fried food, you are most likely would love this, but bring more friends for sharing, cause you would get full pretty fast.

I've heard of Victoria Station's steak for long times, but never got a chance to dine there until I've decided to dine there on my first year anniversary with Shawn to record this special moment.

I love the theme of the restaurant which is based on the famous Victoria Station. And they do have the train cargo seat in the restaurant, provide you the dine in train experience.

The interior design is classic and retro, and each table is decorated with pink roses. The ambiance in the restaurant is quiet and relaxing, suitable for couple and family.
Bread and Butter

Bread and Butter

The normal bun and butter spread. However, I like all the plates labelled with Victoria Station. It's matchy with both of us that is wearing pinky red.

The iced lemon tea is quite tasty.
Assorted Smoked Platter

Assorted Smoked Platter

Assorted Smoked Platter (RM 12.90) is fresh vegetable with smoked duck, lamb and salmon with special honey mustard mayo sauce. Love this platter as it's delicious and appetizing.
Victoria Station Ribeye

Victoria Station Ribeye

Victoria Station Ribeye (RM 57.90) comes with baked potato, corn and mushroom mixed vegetable. I love the Ribeye is juicy and very nutrient-balanced, although the vegetable are slightly tasteless.
Victoria Station Steak

Victoria Station Steak

Victoria Station Steak (RM 57.90) has the special sauce prepared with minced chicken, mushroom and potatoes. It also comes with fried tomatoes, french fries and mushroom onion vegetable. The portion is quite huge, but the taste is just OK, not too wow-ing.

Dubu Dubu is located at LG in Mid Valley Megamall. The restaurant is not overly crowded and it's well air-conditioned.
It's suitable for friends and family to hangout here.
Peach Tea & Citron Tea

Peach Tea & Citron Tea

Peach Tea (RM 4.90) and Citron Tea (RM 4.90) tastes quite normal and original.
Seafood Soondubu Jigae

Seafood Soondubu Jigae

Seafood Soondubu Jigae (A la carte RM 16.90/Set RM 18.90). The set is well portioned and you don't have to worry if you would not get full. There is lots of prawn and seafood in the soup, come together with the side dishes and Dubu rice. The down side is the soup base is not good enough. It taste like the soup is cooked by boiled water and chili powder, and you can only taste the spiciness of the chili powder but nothing else.
Chicken Cheese Soondubu Jigae

Chicken Cheese Soondubu Jigae

Chicken Cheese Soondubu Jigae (A la carte RM 15.90/Set RM 17.90) is similar to the original Soondubu Jigae but added with Cheese into the soup. The cheese has indeed made the soup smoother and more flavorful.
Korean Spicy Chicken

Korean Spicy Chicken

Korean Spicy Chicken (A la carte RM 15.90/Set RM 17.90) in which the chicken is marinated with Dubu Dubu special hot sauce. The chicken is not overly spicy, and the part I love the most is the plentiful of onions. The meat texture is as good as well. By the way, the side dishes has lots of improvement can be made.
Beef Dol Sot Bibimbap

Beef Dol Sot Bibimbap

Beef Dol Sot Bibimbap (A la carte RM 16.90/Set RM 17.90) is awesomely colorful and healthy. The dish comes with lots of vegetables and taste good.
Citron Dubu

Citron Dubu

For dessert, I've ordered Citron Dubu (RM5.90), which is a combination of bean curd, sugar and citrus. Unfortunately the bean curd is not smooth enough and overly sweet.

Overall, the price is reasonable and they looked really nice, however the taste is just normal.

A light dinner Smile Jul 28, 2013

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant

I've never liked Chinese cuisine in particular, generally because the Chinese cuisine in Malaysia is either chained restaurant or you need a table of people so you could order a table of food. But I like to dine in Luk Yu Tea House @ Starhill Gallery, although it's slightly pricey.

Appetizer of the day (RM 6) is alright, nothing special. It's just cold salty cucumber piece. Deep Fried Prawn served with Pomelo (RM 38) is very aromatic and the shell-less fried prawn is fresh. The pomelo sauce is sourly sweet and the onion on top of the prawn is a good match to the prawn.

Fried Rice with Barbequed chicken and shrimp in Yang zhou preparation(RM 26) is recommended. It's cooked with prawn and Char Siew which made the dish flavoury but not overly salty.

Salted Egg Yolk Fish Fillet (RM 38) is still nice, but not good enough if you compared with the Deep Fried Prawns with Salted Egg Yolk. Prawn still the better match with salted egg yolk.

Ginseng Sea Coconut with Red Dates served Chilled or Warm (RM 5.80) give you the relaxing chill and good end to the meal. The price of the dessert is quite reasonable if you are comparing with the main dish.
