Frog Porridge! Smile Mar 31, 2016
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Porridge

Since my family didn't know what to eat for dinner, we decided to just have porridge at Tasty Porridge! This restaurant is my favourite to-go place when I feel like having some bull frog! This porridge place is always packed with people during dinner times because the food here is just too good!! We ordered a kung po frog and kung po pork slices because kung po food goes really well with plain white porridge!!
The kung po pork and frog dish both cost RM11 each. The frog dish was meant for a person as it contained one whole frog. However, I would like to share with my dad because the portion was relatively huge. One thing I like about this place is that you get to put as much as fried shallots and olive oil as you like on your plain porridge.

Lunch at a lovely cafe  Smile Mar 31, 2016

My best friend came back from US for her semester break and we decided to catch up over some good food at a lovely cafe. After a short debate, we decided to have lunch at Upstairs Cafe! I’ve heard from some of my friends that the food there was good so I decided to give it a try!
We ordered their daily special which was only RM9.90 only!!! The 3 of us had chicken arrabiata pasta! The pasta was really good, the seasoning was just right and the flavours were on point! Not to mention the price, the dish was considered cheap for such a lovely cafe! The portion was just right as well. I would definitely recommend this place for friends to gather and have some good and affordable food.

Seafood! Smile Mar 31, 2016

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Seafood

It was Ching Ming and thus my family went back to our hometown which was at Sitiawan, Perak. On the way back, we stopped by Sekinchan to have lunch. We’ve always loved that place because the food there was good and very fresh as well since the place is a fishing village.
We had lunch at 鸿运 seafood restaurant and it wasn’t our first time here. We ordered a fish, vegetables, a plate of seafood and some fried pork. The fish was really fresh and tasted really good. However, I wish the fish was bigger as the portion was quite small for the 4 of us. As for the fried pork, I think it was by far my favourite dish!! They were succulent, crispy, tender and juicy!! They go well with the chilli sauce!! The price for our meal was very reasonable as 4 dishes only costed around RM 60. This seafood restaurant is definitely one of my favourite restaurants!

Bak Kut Teh Smile Mar 31, 2016

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Bak Kut Teh

My family drove down to Singapore during the weekends to visit my sister as she’s currently studying in Singapore. Before entering Singapore, we decided to have lunch at Johor first. We always go to Shoon Huat restaurant in Johor to have Bak Kut Teh!! Their bak kut teh is really very good and can easily beat down the Bak Kut Teh in Klang.
Like any other BKT restaurants, they provide free flow of soup when requested. My family ordered the normal BKT with ribs and mushrooms and another dry BKT. The soup was really to die for!! The soup was very flavourful, clear, not oily at all and appears to have a lighter shade of brown. The dry BKT was really delicious as well, the pork ribs were succulent and very flavourful! It was definitely a place I will come when I’m going down to Singapore!!

Tea time Smile Mar 31, 2016

Categories : Western variety | Café | Burgers / Sandwiches

My aunt came over to my university to have tea with me and my cousins. She wanted to try out the messed up family, thus we headed over to Garage 51 for tea. The cafe was still filled with people, majority of them were students even though it was 4 p.m. We ordered The Son and The Cousin from the messed up family series. Both cost RM18.90 each I think think it was too pricey. The Son was actually a milkshake with Nutella with hints of hazelnut awesomeness while the The Cousin was a milkshake with salted caramel with brownies. Both were very pleasant to the eyes but taste wise, not that great. The Son was topped with pretzel biscuit, caramel popcorn, marshmallow and drizzles of chocolate sauce. The popcorn were not crunchy at all and in fact they were quite soft. As for the cousin, the brownies were super hard and we felt like we were eating rocks. The different elements that make up the ‘work of art’ doesn’t taste as great as we expected but it was okay as a whole.
Apart from that, we had the chocolate ganache cake and lemon cheesecake. Both cakes tasted very good! As for the mocha and flat white which my aunt and cousin ordered, the mocha was of really good taste while the flat white was just too bitter for my aunt’s liking. The mocha cost RM12.50 while the flat white cost RM10.
