Delicious Japanese Fusion! Smile May 31, 2016

The Japanese-inspired restaurant serves marvellous fusion food, and each of them has attracted me a lot by just looking at the name of the items.

The food was marvellous! We ordered the Teriyaki Salada and a Oyako Teishoku for sharing, and the portion was indeed satisfying and we are really full. No forgetting the passion fruit smoothie was delicious and refreshing! Indeed, the drinks wasn't overly sweetened, perfect to quench your thirst and cool down the heat on a scorching day.

The staffs provides prompt service and the serving of food was fast! The teriyaki salad that we had was seriously good, served cold and fresh. Not forgetting to mention that the chicken pieces are huge too, it's worth the price.

As for the Oyako teishoku, The baked mushroom pie and omelette was good too, just that the leek was slightly overpowering. I am personally okay with it, but perhaps not everyone likes the distinctive taste of leek. They also ask for suggestions and comments verbally or through survey, and they take it seriously. As a consumer, I personally has an favour on restaurants that care for their customers.

In overall, I would say that this dining place was better than my expectation and the varieties of food they serve were excellent as well!

Perfect Place for Pork! Smile May 31, 2016

The place serves marvellous pork dishes (obviously!) and the environment was pretty cozy and comfortable to accommodate people that enjoy dining in a casual environment.
The food was very impressive for me not only for the taste but also in terms of the portion of the food. It was really generous and the all the items were perfectly prepared on point despite there was a big crowd dining in the café!
The English Pressed Roast Pork with Crispy Skin, was overwhelming as the flavour burst in the mouth with a slight force to break the crisp, with the layers of potatoes being stacked on top of slight acidic and lovely sauce. It was amazing!

Besides that, the ham and cheese sandwich, was surprisingly amazing! I did thought that simple food like this, can be so good. The breads were toasted till golden brown, and the cheese were evenly sprinkled and melt without overpowering the meal.

I liked the Warm Pork Confit, Watermelon and Lychee Salad, it was refreshing and tangy, very appetising! With that amount of salad, it was very very fulfiling for a person's portion, it's better to share!

What makes the food looks better is the lighting I would say, the clean sleek black walls with overhead lights made the place classy yet fun. When food is being served, it's like a spotlight, highlighting the food. Though the food may be slightly expensive, I find it reasonable.

Spicy Bacon & Mushroom, the aglio olio style spaghetti, but the chefs are kind enough to leave the chili flakes behind for us as the kids couldn't take any spicy food. The generousity of the condiments like vegetables and mushrooms they used, are just to good to be true!

The Pork Sausages were really succulent, with a distinctive smoky aroma and flavour, goes perfectly well with the sauerkraut rosti. It was a smart move combining potato rosti and sauerkraut together since many times people can’t finish or  probably dislike sauerkraut.

The highlight of the night is definitely the RIBS! No other words to describes other that, heavenly good, tender and soft, with all the sauce absorbed or coated on the meat, it's definitely one of those that makes you melt.

This place has become one of my favourite Japanese restaurants for Udon and don! The Ontama Bukkake Udon can be extremely simple, but the broth can extremely rich and flavourful and the addition of Onsen egg pretty much takes it to a higher level! The savoury umami taste of the broth blends so well with the creaminess of the eggs, and coats every strands of Udon, a total satisfying sensation!

I ordered the curry udon, and it tasted good too, where the sauce is not too thick and just nice as a thick soup, despite it does not have the onsen egg. Hahaha!

Anyhow, my dad ordered a gyudon for sharing, and the beef rice tasted so so good! For me, it's probably the best gyudon I have tasted. The shops offer refillable green tea, as well as condiments such as spring onions and the crispy bits. The satisfaction level finishing a bowl of udon or don in this shop is indescribable, I liked how the sticky feelings that left on my lips after consuming the onsen egg! There's tempura was really good, you can order the tempura vegetable with an onsen egg oozing out from the core, that's a bomb! Crispy yet soft and creamy in the inside, the best!

Big Juicy Beef Patty! Smile Apr 30, 2016

We celebrated a friend's 21st Birthday in Awesome Canteen and it was brilliant! The dishes served were awesome like its name. I recalled I went to the same place one or two years ago, and I could say that they improved a lot on their food choices and the qualities! Besides Western cuisines, they also serves Japanese Food now!

The awesome canteen serves a paleo menu whereby the menu has less or no carbs, and mainly proteins and some veggies. I order the paleo beef burger but the waiter keyed in my order wrongly and I get the paleo beef patty instead. Nonetheles,I had no regret trying this though!

The big chunks of meat does not look appetizing to me for I thought that it would be tough. Surprisingly the food flips my thought around at my first bite. It was so succulent, flavourful and tender that I can't stop munching bit by bit. The portion of the beef patty, was also very generous, it's thick and huge, rather satisfying. The service crews were very helpful and friendly, though the service is slightly messed up that day, but they kept the smile on the face despite the hectic turnover.

Awesome Place, Excellent Food! Smile Apr 30, 2016

Humble Pie wasn't in my list of most reputable cafes until I have finally tried it today, and the food is totally amazing!
Besides the their signature savoury pies, the shops also offers other mains and pastas, not forgetting their terrific dessert pies and cakes!
Humblerger was on point for me as they contains the onion marmalade or that gives the hint of sweetness to the succulent robust beef patty. The burger was accompanied by wedges served with intense garlic aioli, tasted so good!

The Lamb Sausage Lagsana has totally changed my friend's perspective as he always think that lasagna can't never be good, since its often microwaved. But here it is, a life changing experience! mad The tomato sauce is very flavourful, rich, not overly acidic, savoury with a hint of sweetness! The zucchini and eggplants layered in between were cooked till soft yet retaining its juiciness reminded me of the good-old ratatouille. The combination of the layers were so heavenly blended together. smile

The Shepherd's Pie was plated with the deconstructed concept with the pie crust on top of mashed potatoes stuffed with lamb meat and surrounded by robust lamb soup, with a slice of complementary baguette. The soup was a bomb, I love it!

By looking at Humble Pie's version of Aglio Olio, it does amazed me! The generous sprinkle of cheese and huge prawns could explain the quality of the food, and there's a lot of chili flakes, and a lot of heat. But I'm definitely in love with it, cause each strands of the spaghetti was coated perfectly with fragrant oil, and the sheen of the noodles, makes it looks more appetizing.

Not forgetting the desserts! Oh mann, the Musang King Pie and Banoffee were good! Though it's a lil' pricey, but oh well, the we could taste the real durian or banana flesh in the pie topped with some whipped cream. Truly a very good ending for the meal!
