Japanese dine in experience Smile Oct 06, 2015

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Seafood | Halal

Miyagi restaurant is located at Bandar Baru Bangi, and they only have selected operation hours. We came over for dinner but we came too early at 5.00 p.m. They opened for dinner around 6.00 pm, so we waited next door (another restaurant). When it opened, we were the first customer who came in and able to choose our seat freely lol  ( i heard it will usually be full during weekends).

So when i was looking at the menu i was hinting my friend that the food are expensive (for their sushi). However, they suggested to take their set menu which is more reasonable. So we ordered sushi tofu set ( RM36) and chicken teppanyaki set with rice (i forgot the name in the menu) (less than RM40). So the food looks like this;-
RM32++

RM32++

So when the food came, the smells is just so good that makes your tummy growling. So we started eating and the first one i tasted was the rice mixed with the chicken. The only word i can say was awesome. The sauce was not that salty like some other japanese restaurant that i went to. It was just soft and sweet but too much bean sprout. So 9 out of 10 for the teppanyaki chicken. For the sushi tofu set, the taste was 10 out of 10! the fish was so fresh and the most important thing is that it is not smelly. The soup for both set is the same and that one is good too plus with some fruits (all set will have fruits).

For the best japanese dining experience, i can tell you that this is actually second on my list as this cannot compete with Kogetsu Japanese Restaurant at Shah Alam. But Miyagi is slightly cheaper than Kogetsu, so a plus for that!

Overall: reasonable price, japanese environment, fresh sushi
Supplementary Information:
Full stomach by only eating the set dish.

Recommended Dish(es):  Their set menu

Pure Mee Tarik Smile Oct 05, 2015

Categories : Malay | Restaurant | Noodles | Halal

Homemade mee tarik is definitely one of a kind for this restaurant. They will do the mee tarik once you ordered (freshly cook! not instant noodles). It was my another lucky day when my friend offer me to pay for the food (everyone likes free food).

When we first came in, we saw the chef was doing the mee tarik and it was amazing how fast he was able to do it. We look at the menu and we were confused what to order because everything looks so delicious! (we were looking at most pictures). We were looking around other tables for ideas and we saw most of them are having the toothpick lamb.

So we decided to order the toothpick lamb (RM24), wet mee with scallion and beef (RM9.80) and Lamen soup with sliced beef (RM7). Kindly take note that the portion is actually big! we thought it was just like any other restaurant but this one is definitely for a whole day meal mad

We tried the toothpick lamb first and the taste was good! not too spicy not too sweet and sour. The flavours was just great! The lamb is thin and soft. Its not chewy, that is what i like about it. We finished it in a few seconds and proceed with our main dish. My wet mee with scallion and beef was good! but it is better with extra pepper. The Lamen soup is also as good as mine but my friend ordered extra spicy. As for him, he still added pepper because he said the taste is too plain (crazy people with spicy food sick). Oh not to forget, the food is not too oily (which is healthy).

So we stayed for a couple hours talking because we had a very full stomach (we can't barely walk, lol). For those who are looking for not too expensive food but with big portion, this is the place. Definitely worth it.

Overall: Good food, reasonable price, clean, big portion

A meal that can last for a day

Movie dinner OK Oct 04, 2015

Cafe Skrin is operated by Malaysian local artist and they bring a cinema concept here. You can watch a movie while having your dinner with your friends and your family, well you can bring the whole village if you want to tongue .

From MRR2 you can see the only bright cafe just across the Zoo Negara. At first i thought someone was having some event there but then its a cafe (the electric bill must be pretty high, mad). The decorations is bright and makes you feel like you walk in red carpet with movie stars lol

To watch a movie while having dinner, you need to pick their set menu given or you can just order a total of RM50 worth of meal and drinks per person. Well, they only have some old movies but if you would like to try something different, you can try this cafe/restaurant for some new experience.

Well then, lets get to the order list. First we ordered spaghetti carbonara (RM 24) recommended by the waiter. Next, we ordered the long beef burger (RM20). For drinks we ordered iced horlicks and apple juice (Less than RM10). The food here is quite pricey for me.

The carbonara taste was quite good, not too milky and it is advisable to add more pepper to add on the taste. The beef burger was not that good. It is a bit chewy for the beef lucky we have our movie on to just finish up the food. I used to try the cake here and it was not delicious at all!  unless they changed the vendor (honestly saying).

Most of the customers here were families because it is near town house so its quite convenient for them to just come here for dinner. Football match will also be played here during football season. A hang out place for a big group for sure if you have been here.

Overall: Unique decoration, movie dinner

less than RM40 for both

A romantic pastry house Smile Oct 04, 2015

PH Pastry house is indeed a pastry house with lots and lots of pastry to choose from. It is located at lakefield Sg. Besi. A place for a lunch or dinner date because the decorations is just too romantic like you were in France.

When we came in, of course i will pick the most nice spot for pictures! lol . Obviously there were a couple looking at our spot once we sit (sorry you guys might wanna try to come again another day for this spot, lol) . The spot with candles and some jingle bell trees definitely a top pick here lol .

I was there with my friend and we ordered bread butter pudding ( less than RM20) , the big club sandwich (RM16), a blueberry pie and a hot chocolate (my all time favorite) (less than RM15). The services were quite fast since we came during weekdays.

The blueberry pie was not what we expected, if you take a look at the picture, it is really tempting but sadly the taste was not that good. Moving on to the big club sandwich, the tuna taste was similar to dunkin donut tuna sandwich (which is what i like) and it was huge! They serve with fries and some salad. Hot chocolate is very milky and the chocolate taste was just nice. Not too sweet tho. As for the bread butter pudding, the taste was good. The portion is also quite big. We couldn't finish it (there were just the 2 of us).

We take-away some bread and croissant before we leave. We tasted it afterwards and it was very soft and nice. A true pastry house indeed. This shop is suitable for family and couples who would like to have some romantic and relax environment. Will bring my family here next time for sure!

Overall: Romantic pastry house, delicious croissant, a place for a date.

Supplementary Information:
Weekends will be crowded

Recommended Dish(es):  Their pastry is recommended here

It's all about the flavors Smile Sep 16, 2015

Categories : Multi-Cuisine | Café | Ice Cream / Froyo / Gelato | Sweets/Snack

We just got back from the grumpy cyclist and table talk so we would like something light to end our food hunting day. Luckily we found this small little shop called Inside Scoop.

The inside scoop is definitely a very unique ice cream shop. Who doesn’t love ice-cream? Well, try to remember those days when you were a kid and your parents will always offer you ice-cream to shut you up? lol . That’s when it all started with me to loving ice-cream.

This Ice-cream shop got a lot of different flavors such as durian, cempedak, teh tarik and etc (all those weird flavors!). We tasted some of the flavors there but the one that interest us was cempedak, coffee, and dark chocolate. There were 3 of us, so each pick their own favorite flavor. Each flavors cost around RM8 per scoop.
RM8 per scoop

RM8 per scoop

To be honest, my flavor which is dark chocolate taste is very strong and for me, it doesn’t really taste sweet and milky (7 out of 10 for this flavor). Then, coffee flavor is not our favorite. The taste is really strong that you don’t really enjoy the taste of milky ice-cream (maybe some people like it). So we can give only 5 out of 10 for this. Next is Cempedak flavor. The taste is really delicious and it is purely cempedak taste! So, my friend’s flavor won! (we bet which one taste the best) . The rate should be 10 out of 10!

By the way they also told us that there are some flavors got some alcohol. So, for muslims, you need to check with them which one is non-alcoholic and alcoholic flavors.

Overall: can’t sit for long, small shop, fantastic weird flavors, the best pure ice-cream flavors
